What an awesome time we had this weekend at Blue60! 7 of us stayed here, and we rented the Magnolia, River, Desire, and Ignatius rooms. When we arrived, there were some different walkways and gardens behind the inn, which were really cool, but at first we weren't sure if we were in the right place! The instructions that Chris and Maryann gave to find each of the rooms was perfect. There was lots of foliage, fountains, swings, benches, tables, different places to hang out each night. Each room had its own theme and flair to it. The detail in the old building was so cool. The rooms were also very large, and had high ceilings! Our suite, River, was so huge. I have stayed in New Orleans before, and some other Inn rooms are difficult to navigate due to being so small. Not at Blue60 ! The descriptions on the website don't do them justice. The rooms were also immaculate.. everything was very clean down to the linens, sofas, floors, etc. We loved being a quick walk to Frenchmen Street, we found ourselves here each night! It was also within a 10 minute walk to the French quarter, Royal street and Bourbon Street. The only Uber we needed to take was to and from the Inn from the airport. There was a fresh market across the street and a Starbucks. We stopped at the market to get waters and snacks! The only concern we had when booking was some reviews saying that Desire & River were "too loud at night." I have to say , I 100% disagree. Both myself and the group in the other room did not have any problems sleeping. Yes it is a streetfront room, but it is a Main Street, so it is quiet. Once or twice through the whole weekend a loud car drove by, but passed within a few seconds.... We were very very happy here! We booked the Garden Apartment for our family of four. My two teen boys loved the daybed with trundle and having their own little space. The room was so welcoming and homey. The location is amazing, the scenery is great and the owners are so accommodating and friendly. It's a win, win. Parking was easy to find all times of the day. We were in walking distance from many of our destinations and the store across the street was super cute. Overall it was a great experience, I definitely plan on staying here for future visits. read more

We loved staying at Blue60! It's a great location, walking distance to many restaurants, the French Quarter, and the WWII Museum if you're ambitious. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and really nicely decorated. We had flight delay issues and Chris made it no problem for us. They're easy to get ahold of and have great communication. The instructions for getting into the room were easy, and they keypad feature was so nice because we could arrive anytime. Our room felt very private, and the shared courtyard area was a great too. Wow!! This is place is a literal oasis. I went to Nola for my 30th and this guest house was my favorite part of the trip! The convenience of the location is what drew us to the property but it's beautiful foliage, magical lighting and whimsical styling have me planning a trip back. My husband spoke with Josh before we arrived and Josh set up a super cute birthday surprise for me (see pics). The room was fabulous. It boasted of Nola antiques and oddities. The bathroom cannot be adequately described. You have to check out the pictures! Colette, the guest house kitty, was always ready to greet and was super sweet! But, as much as I love plants, animals, and decor.... The best part of the stay was the hot tub that was strategically set up under a picturesque oak tree with perfect lighting! Our host, Will, was extremely lovely and offered a lot of great tips on places to check out. I cannot stress enough about how wonderful he was to us! Our room came with plenty of amenties, including a microwave, mini fridge, coffee, plenty of towels, shower products, extra blankets, etc. The location is perfect and is in close walking distance to the French Quarters. There's a market across the street, a Walgreens/CVS within walking distance, and a couple of bars around the corner as well. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely return the next time I'm out here. Thank you so much, Will, for a fantastic experience! Ps. I have stayed at this Blu60 multiple times. We usually go down to NOLA at least once a year, but recently it has been two to three times a year. We always stay at Blu60. Joshua and Will are the best! Lovely place, beautiful rooms (actually suites) close to the quarter, ample parking and two of the best New Orleans hosts one could ever meet. The court yard is wonderful. It is intimate and beautifully decorated. . Joshua and Will are always on site. They are experts in giving advice/suggestions. For example we asked, "Where do the locals go to order pizza?" We were advised to skip the Quarter hype and go to a local Mom and Pop. Excellent. We meet other guests from around the country/world. Joshua and Will offer contact free check in, but are willing to show you vaccination cards. It is safe. It may be not in my best interest to totally recommend Blu60 because, we may be in competition for a reservation. In all honestly, this is the best to stay in NOLA. I love this guest house. Quirky and fun, lots of heart and charm. A perfect launching pad for exploring the city with close streetcar and bike rental options less than a block away. You can also wind your way on foot through Frenchman's Street to the Quarter in under 30 minutes. There are lots of bars, restaurants, breakfast cafes within a 10-minute walk. The little courtyard right outside the door is beautifully maintained, like a private jungle, perfect for a cup of coffee in the morning. Despite being on a busy street, the room itself was quiet. We enjoyed having both a living room/sitting area as well as a bedroom with a giant, comfy bed. I loved the original artwork as well; the photographs gave us such insight into the city, showcasing both genuine affection and gritty realism. This is our #1 choice for accommodation in New Orleans. Nice, quiet little house away from the French Quarter, but close enough to walk there or take the street car. More spacious & less costly than any hotel room we could have used, plus we felt more like locals than tourists. Will & Josh were so nice and accommodating. They provide an extensive list of recommendations for local businesses & attractions we might not have found on our own. We stayed in the Garden room on the back of the house. Found it comfortable and private, away from the busy street. Parking was almost always available right in front of the house, a little more challenging on Friday night because Frenchman street was a block away. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit New Orleans! read more

Diamond in the ruff, right here! Location was good if you have a car. If you are walking it will be some distance then consider the humidity. We had the room on the patio which was decorated with good taste and the a/c units made it very comfortable. I like it cold. The property is kept up well and includes a secluded patio "chill spot" with hot tub in the back. I did appreciate that the rooms used a number pad so you can customize your room code. We really enjoyed our stay here, Josh could not have been any nicer or more helpful when we arrived even though we were ahead of check-in time. The space is really comfortable, it is always nice to have a living room area in addition to the bed which is really comfortable, I especially appreciated the really nice pillows and linens. It was quite cold and rainy while we visited, the heating and cooling unit worked really well and quickly. Someone mentioned street noise in their review, we were in a front unit and while we did hear some noise, it wasn't bothersome, I slept unusually well for being away from home. There are lots of thoughtful touches, we especially appreciated the coffee supplies. Walking back from Frenchman Street in the evening took less than 10 minutes and the areas we walked through didn't feel sketchy- I would choose this place again without hesitation. Where do I even start? In the middle of the COVID shut down and his own drive across country to take care of his mother, Joshua kept the guest house open for our house hunting trip. Will was there to greet us and I felt like I was staying at a friend's house. This is not a Hyatt or Hilton (thank goodness), so if you want cookie-cutter rooms with no character, this place is not for you. There is a secured gate that leads into a mini-Eden replete with five separate seating areas with hanging swings, tables, chairs, outdoor couches, and an amazing hot tub. Colette, the sweet polydactyly Russian blue calico, greets you and walks with you to your room, which is also secured with a numerical lock. I can only comment on our room, since each is one is different and special. We had the Deluxe suite that has two separate rooms and a sweet bathroom that makes you feel like you are showering outdoors. The bathroom includes lots of towels, a blow dryer, shampoo and conditioner, and shaving/makeup mirror. The living room couch is actually a really comfortable day bed with another trundle underneath, coffee maker with coffee and accoutrements, dishes, a small fridge, and microwave. The bedroom is super spacious with a king bed, real closet with iron and board, dressing table, and antique cabinet full of extra cozy blankets. There are at least a half a dozen lamps, two large new smartTVs with cable, and the most amazing photography by the owner in the vein of Arbus and Maier. read more

I really enjoyed my stay at Blue60! I had never been to New Orleans before, and this stay helped to make my trip really memorable. I love the location - close enough to walk to the Quarter, but far enough away from the center of everything. A big plus that it is directly across the street from the Phoenix Bar. It has a very charming feel to it - authentic New Orleans (at least to me). Josh, the owner, is a very friendly, sexy man and was so attentive to everything. He made sure I was familiar with tours in the area and where everything was. The only one downside - I wish they would offer daily housekeeping service. I realize you can always text or call Josh if you need anything, AND they have onsite laundry and supplies so you can do your own. BUT, I like to come home and find the place made up - bed, new towels, garbage emptied. There is something to be said for being left to your own devices, but I think I would prefer daily housekeeping. The place has a mixed clientele, and I was hoping for more of a gay stay. There are only 5 apartments in the guesthouse from what I can tell - all look great (a couple of them are very newly renovated). The hot tub and outdoor shower are nice perks, but they would be even nicer with an all gay male clientele. Oh well, I can wish! Overall, I would stay again in a second. I definitely recommend Blue60 Guesthouse to those visiting - especially if you like being close to everything, but not necessarily IN everything. :) And it's perfect if you meet someone at the Phoenix and want to take it home....Just saying. read more

We stayed at the Blue60 Guest House for our vacation in March. In terms of location, Blue60 is excellent - one block away from the streetcar and a short walk from Frenchmen (5 minutes) as well as the French Quarter (10 minutes). There is also the added benefit of being on the outskirts of the French Quarter, so it is not too loud at night. The room was spacious, clean, and decorated with cool artwork. We stayed in a recently renovated room, and you can tell Joshua, the owner, is constantly improving the building. Furthermore, Joshua provided us with a binder filled with recommendations from breakfast places to dinner places - both in the FQ and beyond. All of the recommendations were spot-on, and a big reason we enjoyed the NOLA food so much was due to Joshua's recommendations. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at Blue60 and I would definitely recommend staying here because of the excellent location, great rooms, and extremely accommodating host. read more

The Blue 60 is a great little "off the path" Guest house. My wife and I stayed there over the weekend and it worked out perfect. It may not be located in the heart of the French Quarter but is only about a half a mile away, and this is actually a plus. We parked our car right in front of the house (free by the way) and walked the rest of the weekend. The house is also a half a block away from the Street car system. 3 bucks gets you all day access to anyplace the street car goes. When you finally wind down for the night you don't have the bar sound as you would from some other locations. There is some road noise from the Elysian Fields Ave, which is a semi-busy road, but nothing to crazy. The house itself is nicely redone. Nothing to fancy, but very stylish and a nice place to hang out. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to see a little different side of the French Quarter. This guest house has a great location walking distance to French Quarter at a reasonable price. The owner and manager, Josh and Sam, were very friendly and attentive and made our stay very easy. We were in the Garden Suite which was large and spacious; two rooms, nicely decorated, with a microwave and small fridge. The bed was very comfortable. The hot tub was a nice place to relax in the evening but is on the small side (I had my husband and a friend with me and it seemed a bit tight for three people). We would stay here again and recommend it for those looking for something near the French Quarter but without the high price. I took one star off only because there is no dedicated parking (Parking was available nearby on the street which made us uncomfortable as we were driving a new car, but it was fine). read more

If I could give it 10 stars I would. 5 stars for hosts Josh and Sam and 5 stars for the house and its location. Josh and Sam were WONDERFUL. They made us feel at home. They were always available to help us with dinner plans or suggestions for things to do. They would drop what they were doing and give us their undivided attention. However they always respected our privacy. When we left a week later I felt I was leaving my friends. The house itself is very fun and homey. The high ceilings and décor are perfect for a house built in 1840. You get a true sense of New Orleans living in a Shotgun house when you stay here. My suggestion is to bypass the craziness of the quarter and stay here. Its the perfect location because it walking distance to Frenchman street which is way better than Bourbon St and a short bus or taxi ride to the quarter.
