Gayle, David and I recently spent 4 wonderful nights at the Audubon Cottages. We wanted a place within the French Quarter and a suite that had 2 bedrooms (one for David and the other for me and Gayle) and separate bathrooms. Often this type of accommodation is hard to find and in this case, location and amenities cost a little be more. And it was certainly well worth it. CONS - None! +/- - There is currently no breakfast service, although judging by what looked like an unused cafe room (near the pool), there might have been pre-COVID. However, there's lots of breakfast choices nearby. - WiFi works better outside. - As our cottage backed up on St. Louis street, we did hear some noise in the evening and morning. - Our Cottage #5 shares a wall with #6 and at the time our neighbors were a young couple who by the sounds of it were having some great sex. A Dinner and a Show! PROS - Beautiful property and a quiet oasis within the French Quarter where nearly everything was a short walk. - Impeccable outdoor area including wading pool and a huge patio outside our Cottage. A big bonus was the great weather we experience why we were here. - 2 very comfortable beds, nice bathroom/shower, and good temperature control. - Wonderful common living room, with a comfy sitting, and frequently replenished coffee, water, and soft drinks. - Pleasant and hardworking housekeeping staff. - Attentive check-in and check-out support from Sean. This is an absolute must stay. My husband and our two friends booked a weekend getaway and were sooo happy with our experience. Convenience is everything during these hot days. Being stationed in the French quarter meant we could easily walk to anything we wanted and then come back for a nice dip in the pool. Never crowded or busy really because there are only 7 cottages. Access to the pool whenever you want. The cottages are truly enchanting. We cannot wait for next trip back! read more

We had such a wonderful time at Audubon Cottages in #3 where Elizabeth Taylor stayed many times. It's like a private oasis right in the heart of the French Quarter, just one block from Bourbon St. Shawn is the onsite manager and he did such a great job of welcoming us and made sure to help us with any request. I have worked in the hotel industry for the past 13 yrs. What I have learned is that the two most important things guests care about are 1. Be nice to them 2. Have clean rooms. Everything else is secondary. The Audubon Cottages are part of the New Orleans Hotel Collection (all located in the Quarter except for two properties). I stayed one night (Tuesday) at the Audubon Cottages three weeks ago. I stayed in Cottage #6 and I was charged $199. Rates get rather expensive during the weekend. I was looking at a weekend stay but they were asking between $349/ngt for a 1-bdrm cottage and as high as $999/ngt for a 2-bdrm cottage. They don't even offer employees a discount at the Cottages (I know. I've tried to get an employee discount from my sister a couple of times). I loved everything about the property from the beautiful courtyard, the private location, the beautiful rooms, the breakfast that awaits you each morning in the courtyard, and the wonderful staff. The employees here are so accomodating! They will go the extra mile here to make you happy and they really pamper you. Some other benefits of staying here: - Personal butler service - Access to the fitness center at the Dauphine Orleans hotel on the next block. - Free wifi - A pool that you are only sharing with a maximum of 6 other rooms. Located just one block from the masses of tourists in the Quarter is a true New Orleans oasis! I am a huge fan of all of the N.O. Hotel Collection properties but the Cottages are just a step above the rest. The best hotel experience you can have awaits at the Audubon Cottages. read more

This place is such a gem of a spot!! Love that they only have 7 cottages in the entire place plus one of the oldest and gorgeous inground pool in the French quarters! The breakfast selections were fantastic and Nina who was in charge of preparing it was awesome and would also make things off the menu like sunny side eggs or omlettes to order a well. We had reserved cottage 7, an one bedroom suite with a beautifully appointed shared courtyard area. Our cottage was the one that John Audubon used as a studio to work. Our room had an amazing high ceiling. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the staff stocked our in room mini fridge with complimentary soda and water daily. All of the toiletries were luxurious and the bathroom was beautifully designed and massive! I loved that there was no posted pool usage hours so we were able to have a full day of sight seeing and excursions and then be able to come back and take a moonlit dip in the pool without any of the other guests bothering us! I seriously cannot wait to be back here very soon! read more

Stay nowhere else if going to New Orleans. This place borders on magical. Private, clean, beautiful grounds/rooms and exceptional, friendly service. Walk to everything in the French Quarter. It's tranquil and quiet while the lovely madness of Bourbon Street etc goes on just outside the grounds. Where to start?! Lovely spacious rooms. Updates were tastefully done. Fridge,coffee maker and water provided. We were tucked away off the pool in a gloriously private courtyard with bubbling fountain. Bricked paths, lush gardens, special touches everywhere. The staff. Wow. They were helpful, friendly, accommodating, knew when to disappear and when to appear!! How??! We were fortunate to have their insider local tips on where to go and info on the lovely cottages, the French Quarter--all of New Orleans. They were just amazing. A delicious breakfast is included. They do not skimp here! You choose from a solid menu and the food is prepared deliciously! (I have NEVER, not once met an included breakfast that I could rave about--until this one!) The dings? I'm digging deep because I TRULY love this place and will absolutely go back -- the parking is about a block down and is an additional $40/per day. I missed that when booking, so was a bit shocked. But, once there you see why. Parking is a nightmare. You can seek out other parking lots a bit further out, but you might only save $10/day. You've got to call for your car a few minutes ahead. The bathroom is elegant and luxurious with marble, brass and walk-in shower. Our suite we had to be careful as the door opened in straight into the sink and we got each other more than once--can't really be fixed but was something to be aware of with a historical property. (Like I said, I'm digging deep!) Bathrobes, extra pillows and blankets, umbrellas all provided. The pool is gorgeous! On the weekend there was a breakfast buffet in the clubhouse rather than brought to our room and it was impressive and delicious with the cook taking special orders. Just held my wedding here this past weekend. The property is gorgeous and the cottages are immaculate. Our wedding was prefect in the courtyard of cottage 3. My in-laws stayed at cottage 4, which was also lovely. The cottage front is unassuming, took us a minute to find it, but the cottages is like a secret oasis. It's walkable to everything in the French Quarter with street noise on occasion. We could not have picked a more perfect place to get married! We look forward to coming back to celebrate many anniversaries to come! read more

This is the most charming place to stay in the French Quarter. Each room is it's own cottage complete with a walled in brick patio with lush landscaping and climbing vines. A very unassuming door leads you from Dauphine Street, into a very private courtyard with a beautiful petite pool. Due to the limited number of cottages, there is a concierge like experience with the staff. Each rep I encountered was warm, accommodating and helpful. This is the type of place where you are able to have a blast on bourbon street but retire to a private quiet room when you're ready to rest. Great for romantic getaway or reserve a two bedroom for a girls weekend or rent the whole place for a reunion or family vacation. My husband and I look forward to returning. We loved our time in New Orleans and we are delighted to have found this incredible boutique hotel. read more

I tried contacting Audbon for several days to attempt and arrange a delivery for a guest who is celebrating their birthday. When I finally got through on the 3rd day of calling - "Jeff" answered - and he had a MAJOR ATTITUDE. "Why are you calling so early"? -- it was 10:30am. He told me my "friends are 'sleeping' because its NOLA and everyone was out drinking." Like - omg - who are you - and why are you so mad that your life sucks? We stayed in the cottages and rented all of them for our group for Mardi Gras... hands-down a 5+ review to the cottages / and especially the staff Maria Alfred Gloria Courtney and the crew ..... The Audubon cottages are in a phenomenal location in the French quarter accessible to everything by foot. A car was never needed for us. You are in the middle of everything in the quarter however once you walk through the locked door it is an oasis that you will enjoy and remember for years to come. The guestrooms are extremely comfortable and private and it worked perfectly for our group of 20+. The pool courtyard setting is spectacular and could accommodate a wedding rehearsal dinner or the like. We will definitely be back ... Awesome sanctuary from noise in the heart of the french quarter Only a block from bourbon street, yet quiet & private. Unless you know it's there... you would walk right by and never see the private entrance. Cottages are huge, with common areas large enough to entertain our group of 8 or more. Well appointed rooms with lots of charm... our group had cottages # 2 and #3, both elegant and recently updated. The courtyard gardens are beautiful and private, with outdoor space for each cottage, and a nice pool / clubhouse. Perhaps the best amenity of the Audubon Cottages was the butler service (included in the stay) available round. We used the butler for recommendations on brunch and lunch spots, as well as for taxi service, morning coffee, juice, etc. All in all we highly recommend. Our group loved it, had a great time and we'll definitely return to Audubon for future trips. read more

Audubon cottages are lovely. Smack dab in the quarter with a swimming pool, private courtyards, butler service and fantastic showers in old New Orleans architecture. This is our last day which makes me sad. We've enjoyed staying in our cottage and I can't imagine staying anywhere else in the future. I'll be a repeat customer for sure. The location couldn't be better and is well centralized. We were within walking distance to everything! The staff is simply wonderful. Very accommodating and welcoming. This is a spectacular place to stay in New Orleans! The cottage we stayed in (No.1 - the two bedroom) is a gorgeous space with a large, comfortable living room and two beautiful bedrooms with private baths. The cottage has a private courtyard with a saltwater swimming pool that is well maintained. During our weekend stay, it seemed like we had the pool all to ourselves. The staff is courteous and our butler made sure everything was to our liking several times each day. The most amazing thing, however, is the location -- right off of Bourbon in the heart of the French Quarter. You would think that being right in the middle of that craziness would be loud, but we slept very soundly. All in all, a perfect stay. read more

The property is beautiful, an idyllic oasis in one of the best locations in the French Quarter. The pictures on the website do not adequately convey how nice the place is. Large suites, old brick architecture, lush vegetation, heated salt water pool. The beds and linens very comfortable. Everything First Class. The best thing about Audubon Cottages is the staff. They are super competent, warm, welcoming, and will do just about anything to make your stay memorable. Our primary butlers were Maria and Courtnie. Maria is a foodie, knows everyone at every restaurant - and can get you in. Courtnie is delightful and very helpful. Alfred took care of the property, maintains the pool, and fed us. Gloria kept our rooms in great shape. I stayed at the property for Mardi Gras 2016, and invited 16 friends to join me for Mardi Gras 2017. We leased all 7 suites, and we had a blast. Maria arranged for Chef Addriene to cater our dinner for a LundiGras party around the pool, and for DJ Shane to play great music. Everyone in my group had a grand time. I hate to give Audubon a bigger following ..I want it empty for myself! But they deserve a lot of love and an endless wait-list for their rooms. The location is perfect; right in the French Quarter a block off Bourbon. The 7 rooms date back hundreds of years, but have every modern ammenity; and they are gorgeous and so unique and so charming nestled around a brick pool. The service is so warm and inviting that you will think you are staying with old, dear friends who happen to be hopelessly hospitable. It's like you imagined a perfect place to stay and they made it real. Free booze, free breakfast and the whole joint is super freakin haunted. So if you dig ghosts come on down. If you don't, come anyway it's still worth it. Maria, Gloria, Courtney and Miriam will make you feel like family , no kidding. And you will have more fun than you could ever have in a normal, dull, giant hotel . Enjoy! read more

Check in was seamless, and the french butler, arrived promptly to take us to our cottage. As you enter the courtyard, you are met with many plants, flowers, and an awesome saltwater pool and the silence is amazing considering the location. You then go into your private courtyard and enter your cottage, which was spotless. Breakfast had numerous offerings, so you will not leave hungry. Can not be beat. read more

One of the best hotel stays I've had an a long time. Not only was everything clean, the location was perfect. (one block away from bourbon street). This place is a easily a destination in itself. When you walk through the front gate, you immediately transition to a total oasis. We checked in on a Sunday in April after a delayed flight from CA. I had called prior and spoke with a very pleasant and helpful Courtnie. I casually asked her if she could have a bottle of red wine waiting in the room when I arrived. I gave her no preference for type or region. Of course, when I arrived, the wine was waiting (great bottle) and the mark up was very minimal. Back to my impressions of the inn. Anywhere you walk, you see old growth tropical foliage, fountains and the centerpiece, a huge, heated salt water pool. There are few things better than trekking around the French quarter or a swamp tour to come back to that soothing pool. As for the rooms, we stayed in cottage one and also had our adult son fly out. It was very comfortable with in suite bathrooms in both rooms. The room was totally classic and unique with brick walls and had been totally restored. The location and ambiance could not be better, but what truly stands out is the level of service. Literally, anything you ask for, you will get, and if any of the hosts did not know the answer, they will have a detailed answer back to you in very short order. Maria is the expert on the restaurants and is incredibly knowledgeable on the local surroundings and what things to do that are non-touristy. Speaking of service, Courtnie brought the best service possible to the next level. Besides being just so personable and helpful, I asked her to set up airport transportation the morning we were checking out. We had to leave something like 5:30 AM. As I walked out to the car, the driver asked me if Courtnie was working (She had not arrived for her shift yet)? He said that she had texted him earlier to make sure he was coming and would be on time. Seriously, how many innkeepers would go to that level! The place was one of the nicest and comfortable places I have ever stayed, but the level of service put it way, way over the top. read more

This is truly an incredible place to stay. We have been here for 5 nights so far and after a mix up with our cottage for the first 2 nights we were placed in cottage #2, then moved to cottage #7 that we had reservations for originally. Cottage #2 is definitely the Cadillac cottage with 2 rooms, king size bed, jacuzzi tub. Very nice!!! Cottage #7 is just as beautiful but smaller, which makes sense if you look at the price difference. What I love about our cottage is that John James Audubon used it as his studio while he worked on his birds of America book, and!!! Having breakfast in our semi private courtyard! It was amazing to have mimosas with my (brand new) husband! Really and truly I am so very glad that we chose the cottages for our honeymoon. We are in a prefect location for walking to and from everything. It's very private considering we are 1 block over from Bourbon street, and there is a pool! It's only 4 foot deep, but it's heated year round and very relaxing! read more

We stayed at the Audubon Cottages on our Honeymoon. I can't stress enough how fantastic our stay was. Our butler, Jeffrey, was one of the best parts of our stay. He provided us with fantastic restaurant reviews in addition to our fabulous service, and he made us feel like we were royalty. Our room was beautiful, classic and modern at the same time, and the private courtyard was a refuge for us at the end of some long days of sightseeing. Every day we woke up to breakfast and coffee in our courtyard, and Jeffrey was always around to give us ideas for what to do with our day. If it hadn't been for him, our trip to New Orleans would have been much more cookie cutter, but with his insight and kindness, we were able to have a fantastic experience that gave us a much better idea of what was out there besides Bourbon St. We are already planning our anniversary trip back to New Orleans, and we will definitely be staying at the Audubon Cottages again. read more
