Making the appointment through Vagaro was easy, walked me through a thorough intake form, and allowed me to choose my esthetician. I went with Allegra who was a darling from the minute I stepped into Dermaspace. Any worries or fears quickly drifted off given the dim lighting, chill music and zen ambiance. Allegra had a sweet personality, explained the entire process from start to finish, was knowledgeable about anything related to skincare and health, and most importantly, gentle. The facial was around an hour and fifteen minutes, including a discussion of my skin concerns, allergies, goals, etc. It consisted of roughly four total steps: 1) Gentle facial cleansing and exfoliation 2) Moisturization and detoxification using yucca soaked cloth within a volcanic heated cone 3) Deep cleaning of my entire face, clearing out any and all clogged pores 4) Ionization facial wrap of nourishing cotton with a leather mask connected to low voltage electrical current in order to ionize the solution. Afterwards, my face felt completely refreshed and as if years were taken off. There is a reason it has won the best facial in Seattle/PNW for many years--the treatment is truly results driven and very effective. I plan to be back soon.

The locker room was spacious with a sauna, two huge showers, two toilets, and a changing area with lockers. some toiletries were provided as well. I appreciated that the lockers had a keypad so I didn't have to carry around a key. You can change in the changing area, but if you want more privacy, you are encouraged to go behind the door of the shower, where there's plenty of room to change. The sauna was nice and hot. Loved it. We both opted for the Om package which included a facial and a massage with one enhancement of choice. I have to say, the massage tables here are the most comfortable ones I've ever experienced. They are heated for your comfort, although they can turn off the heat if you run hot. My massage with Allison was lovely and super relaxing. Afterwards, I was brought back to the lounge area where I met up with my friend again and waited for my facial. The aesthetician, Kat, immediately gave off warm and friendly vibes, and I knew right away that she was going to be great. Her recommendations were spot on and her technique was fantastic. Again, so relaxing and I wish I didn't have to leave. Hands down the best facial I have ever experienced. We were allowed to check in an hour prior to our appointments and stay as long as we wanted it afterwards We ended up staying and talking for a couple more hours and enjoying the atmosphere. Every single person we encountered was kind, helpful, and seemed happy to be there. They have product recommendations at the end, but no hard upsell which I appreciated. I will 100% return. I have very fair "Irish" skin so I typically let Svetlana access what my skin needs and then I let her do her magic. After receiving her facials my skin looks plumper, radiant, and healthy. Often my treatment consists of a two fold process first she uses a state of the art machine that helps promote collagen generation and tightens my skin. The second part is usually a facial and steam with high anti-oxidents such as vitamans A and E. This is NOT your typical "vacation facial" where a girl plops a bunch of product on your face gives you a scalp massage and then washes it off. This is serious skin care with visible results. She is generous with a sample or two so I can try out a product before investing. I now use 4 of BR products daily. Svetlana genuinely cares about my skin. She has even followed up with a phone call and texts after a pca peal to remind me to wear sun screen, drink water and see if the peal finished and how my skin felt and looked. The Place: The boutique is a lovely little spot in the MarQueen Hotel. The entire experience is easy, enjoyable, and exclusive, ( but not snooty). I pull up to the valet and he parks my car at no charge. I walk through the historic hotel lobby to the spa and enter into a quiet, friendly space which has a subtle parisian flare. The reception room is pretty and there is always a little dish of chocolates on the table, as well as teas or water waiting for me. Most of the time, I am the only client in the entire spa, other than the receptionist and the owner. On occasion, she may be finishing with another client in a separate room which is separated by large white paneled pocket doors. During my treatment the room is dimly lit with a pretty blue beaded chandelier and soft, soothing music never overpowers the space. It would be another thing if a consultation took place or even the fee disclosed; but for me to come and spend over $1,500 on product then have have a $50 surcharge snuck in for the "privilege" of shopping there is simply deceptive. Go to Penelope Beauty Bar at the Fairmont to buy the same BR products for the same price, and not feel like you're being taken for a ride. I know the economic environment is understandably causing hardship. I am more than happy to continue to support local business, just be up front about your fees instead of playing coy with hidden charges. Edit: They followed up and refunded the fee, saying it was charged in error. I appreciated the gesture.
