Julie is amazing! We hired her to do a newborn/family photo session after the birth of our second daughter. I love the fact that the session was at our home and that Julie offers a package deal that includes newborn, 6 month, and 1 year photo sessions. Our 4 year old daughter was such at ease with her, which was a relief, since we had tried to do a maternity/family photo shoot in July with a family friend and our daughter refused to smile or be in pictures. Julie is a fantastic photographer. We hired her for a family session with our 9 month old son. She was so friendly and helpful from the first point of contact. She helped us select a location based on the feel we were going for in our photos. She helped us pick outfits that would bring out the most vibrant and interesting images. During the session, she was so easy to work with. I was concerned about being nervous or stiff in front of the camera, but she made all of us feel comfortable and made it a fun experience! She was great with the baby too, getting him to smile and laugh, and he was so comfortable with her. Julie has such a creative eye and was able to capture a wide variety of images. She captured so many of our son's little expressions, including a beautiful closeup of his face, where you can see into his eyes -- absolutely one of my favorites. There were also pictures of him smiling, laughing, serious, and looking almost thoughtful. Her images evoke great emotion. They are all so striking because of the vividness she achieves with her subjects and her use of color. The main item I wanted from our session was an album, and Julie did a great job incorporating our favorite images into a lovely coffee table book. It is something I will always treasure. I begged my husband for a newborn photo session and I was so delighted that Julie was able to fit me into her schedule. She scheduled a maternity shoot right away (3 days before I delivered) and came a week after my son was born. I was really impressed with her style and laid back approach. My wife and I had been searching for a local photographer to take some family photos, focusing primarily on our 15 month old twins. I scoured the internet for several weeks, checking out numerous photographer portfolios and while many of them were good, none really stood out as great. There were several photographers on Yelp with 5 star reviews, but again, none of them really stood out to me... none until I viewed Julie's portfolio. Coming from a photography background as well, her images really caught my eye. They were vibrant with a warmth that felt very natural and inviting. We held off on booking with the hopes our twins would walk soon, but after a couple of months (and no unassisted steps from our little ones) we finally broke down and booked her. Our shoot was a little over a week ago and we already have our images! The turnaround time is super quick, which was perfect because it allowed us plenty of time to order holiday cards. Julie was an amazing photographer! We chose her simply based on web reviews and had her capture our son's 1st b'day in a photo shoot as well as at his party. She did a wonderful job and we now have some priceless photos of our baby boy. She's so patient and very good with kids. Julie is an AMAZING photographer. We booked her for family photos..our daughter was turning 1 and unfortunately, Julie was not available to take pictures for the day of her party, but she took outdoor family photos for us a couple weeks before.
