This liquor store is legendary when it comes to lottery luck. I swear I've almost always walked out with at least a little win still waiting on that life-changing jackpot =D Aside from the good vibes and lucky tickets, they've got a great selection of snacks, beverages, and spirits to keep you happy. Even when it looks crowded, don't be intimidated by the line they often run 3 to 4 cashiers during busy times and they move people through fast. My only gripe is parking. Came out here to buy tickets when the Powerball jackpot was an insane $1.5B. I like that they have that shortcut line - where all you have to do is spend $2 (on anything other than lottery) to cut everyone else in line. But they are FAST. The line may be around the corner, but it only took 30-45 minutes to get to the counter. (Some people claim over an hour, but not in my experience - I took the shortcut line and it only took 20.) This morning my commute to mid-Wilshire took me up this street (good ol' freeway gridlock...) and spying this place, I figured why not give it a go. This is supposedly the place to go to get your winning tickets. People stand in line for hours to get to Bluebird. There is free parking across the street. I didn't have much problem with parking because I didn't go at a peak time. Consequently I didn't have a long wait in line. People actually come here solely for the purpose of buying lotto tickets! There are two separate lines, if you make a purchase you can get in and out quicker. There's a small restroom in the back. I do recommend this place and I would come back. The Good: It's your run of the mill liquor store, but it's California famous for having some of the best luck for the super lotto. I went on a slow lotto day, only like 11 million dollars, and the line moved fast. I can see how this place would suck when there is a huge payout. The Bad: Small parking lot, but there is some street parking and a parking area in the middle of the street, don't ask me it's hard to explain. Im not giving Bluebird Liquor 2 stars because they give bad service or anything like that. They're a liquor store. All liquor stores do is over charge for basic food items and primarily sell liquor, smokes and heavily salted treats. Nothing unusual about this place except that its been known for selling winning lotto tickets and thats it. I have been approaching this area for work and when I saw the big sign I got super excited, Finally THE famous Bluebird Liquor.... for someone who buys lottery tickets in southern california this place is just known to be a lucky place to buy. Spoke to the owner James about the product that I'm promoting. James is a very nice man has owned this business for almost 10 years. We have some in common as he used to live in Cerritos some time ago. There is no GIANT jackpot going on so there was no line around the corner like how I've seen this place on the news. Still there is a great flow of business here with patrons purchasing everything liquor/snacks and, naturally, lottery tickets. After talking to business with James I got the OK from my boss to buy a Ticket. Thanks to the awesome and genial Jesus "Chuy" for helping me decide which one to buy into. He recommended the Super Lotto since the jackpot is just as high as the Power and Mega but the odds are better since its limited to CA and just $1. Hopefully I win this week's Super Lotto.
