A friend placed his spouse in memory care here last year. The facility is stunning. The amenities…read moreare very nice. It's very clean. In the first day or so, the meals served to the family as they were getting her situated were outstanding. But as time went on and the patient could no longer use utensils, her "finger foods" have been less than desirable. Unless someone is there to feed her with utensils, she is left to fend for herself with chicken fingers, French fries, even scrambled eggs. After a number of falls (more than five), the staff recommended that the family provide their own sitter for daytime care. The national average for falls in nursing homes is 2-1/2 per year. Although The Parc claims to provide the "minimum" (1 attendant per 12 patients, I think) as the state requires, it doesn't appear to be enough in a memory care unit. Nor, does it seem to be enough for the most expensive memory care unit in the area. Expensive is an understatement. If you do not have Medicare or long term care, a place here is easily $7,000/month. Add a private sitter and the cost goes up considerably by $5,000-$6,000/month. That's a whopping $12,000 to $15,000/month. Unless you have won the Lottery, this will not be affordable for anyone. And lastly, I recently attended the funeral of one poor resident, a friend of mine, who had only been at The Parc for a few weeks. He fell and died as a result.

I moved my parents to Assisted Living at The Parc in November 2018 and then was told by the mgmt 2…read moreweeks later my dad had to be in Memory Care where he ultimately died after hitting his head on a wall (see photo). Start to finish it was a horrible experience at The Parc namely because I felt they were grossly understaffed especially in Memory Care. I asked if it was even legal to have 1 care giver for 12+ residents because several of them could not feed themselves and I was told, in writing, that while they would like 1 caregiver to 6-8 residents they were within the legal limits with 1 caregiver to 15 since "all but 1 was high functioning." High functioning??? They are in lock down memory care!! No one is high functioning!! So yes they will have you believe they offer "exceptional" senior living but really they are giving residents the minimum care allowed by the state of TX. I agree with A. Boykin, the food itself and the service is a hot mess. The food always seems to be late in both AL and MC. Plus, it's less than appetizing. Also, the mgmt demands the the AL and MC LVN's be dressed up in office attire including high heels which is ridiculous because how can you take care of residents if there is an emergency if you are stumbling around in high heels? This is all part of the treat them like resort guests and say "my pleasure" as often as possible. Don't be fooled by the pretty decor and piped in music because really it's lipstick on a pig. The second the AL director quit (who was absolutely fabulous) I moved my mother to The Langford. She is thriving and says "I feel safe here."
