Asked for pictures of the issue (accessible water leak) so he could be sure he had everything on his truck before arrival. 3) Communicates his ETA prior to arrival with updates and possible caveats. 4) Communicates all aspects of the job including ball park estimates of the various components and possible developments...BEFORE he does the work. 4) Respectful of my property. Wore shoe covers and cleaned up his mess. 5) Completes work quickly, efficiently, and thoughtfully. 6) Investigates issues thoroughly and beyond what is minimally required. Asked him to replace a wax ring on a toilet. His assistant discovered a larger issue and verified the problem via camera at no extra charge. 7) Service minded rather than wallet driven. Asked him to investigate our water pressure issue. He started with checking our aerators on every faucet. Every one had sand in it as the city had been working on a water issue underneath a jack hammered street and sidewalk. He rinsed out all the aerators, replaced them and solved the issue at no charge. 8) Agreed to document the drain discovery for my insurance company so a determination regarding coverage could be made. My water heater suddenly failed and started leaking--actually spewing water. My regular independent plumber was booked for over a week, so I called Wayne Hyde Plumbing. They said Austin would be out within two hours, and he actually arrived in less than an hour. Austin quickly diagnosed the problem and clearly explained my options, including repair or replacement. Since my standard gas water heater was over 10 years old and I had already been thinking about switching to a tankless (on-demand) system, and he provided a quote for that as well. He was very straightforward about the pros and cons of each option, and the tankless replacement price seemed reasonable compared with what friends and family have paid. I decided to go with the tankless system. Austin returned the next day and completed the installation. While he was there, I also asked about a few other plumbing items around the house, and he gave me fair quotes for those as well. Austin was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Just days into the new year, a city employee checking our water meter informed me it was "spinning" and the last month's usage was FAR above average. I got on Yelp and found Wayne Hyde Plumbing. They answered immediately and a man named Ryan showed up the next morning. He got right to the issue, located our underground leak (thankfully, it was exterior, about a foot outside our front porch and 18-20 inches underground). Throughout the process, Ryan kept me informed of what was next and what the cost of each stage would be, parts and labor. He was finished a little earlier than I expected and charged what I'd been quoted. Fingers crossed that next month's water bill will be back to normal. (EDITED to add: About two weeks later (today), I was getting no cold water to my washing machine, and called Wayne Hyde again. Kasey and his employee, Cameron, did a fantastic job for us! We are renovating a 1907 shingled Victorian and there were a few challenges. New water and sewage had to be put in, including new drains. The cast iron pipe had corroded. What was decided was to salvage the part that affected the roof, in order to avoid the cost of a roof repair, and the rest was replaced. There was an issue with tight tight spacing which Kasey was able to work around. The single sink was replaced with a dual sink and needed the water line split in order to accommodate the unit. Kasey moved the tub drain over since we decided to keep the cast iron footed tub...those extra inches greatly helped with spacing. We are so pleased with the work that required a lot of thought and planning. We will hire them again in the near future for the kitchen! read more

Having three little kids and no working bathrooms was not going to work for me. However, if you've ever tried getting a plumber to come to your house on a Friday night, you know its a struggle. Thankfully I was able to get ahold of this wonderful company that came to my rescue. The technicians that came out were very professional, but also personable. They got right to work and cleared my blockage problem getting my bathrooms back to normal within 30 minutes. They even gave me tips on how to keep it from happening again and some problem solving work arounds to try before I have to call again. We had been having plumbing backups for several years at our house, and this time I called Wayne Hyde Plumbing for help. Kasey came out and did and outstanding job. He cleaned out the roots out of our line, then came to a halt about 65 yards out. That was longer than our line went, and advised me to call the city, which I did. They came out and found the problem all along was on their end, and they fixed it. Kasey told me what to tell them and even offered to come to the house if they wanted to use a camera to check our line even if it was well after dark. We've used Wayne Hyde plumbing a number of times since we moved here. They are always transparent about pricing, respectful of our home, and don't upcharge. In fact, they try to reuse as much your own material as possible. They are also very easy to schedule with great availability.
