Have to agree with the other negative reviews. I think this company should just offer hardscapes only, no plantings. I tried to zeriscape my front yard. They dumped a bunch of rock in, then cut 28 plantings holes in it to install some ground cover. Two weeks later they still had not shown up to plant the creeping thyme; three weeks later they said sorry, we couldn't get the plants; then they just stopped responding to emails or calls. Did not even offer to come back and re-cover the ugly holes, I had to do that myself. Three years later the yard is a butchered mess and I am going to have to hire somebody else to try and fix it. Dwayne, Christian and Brice did an amazing job hauling rocks and dirt to add dry river beds and flagstone steps to my garden. The team communicated well and was extremely accommodating and friendly. I have used Thompson and Sons for 2 different projects and couldn't be happier. I recently retired to BCS and had attempted to find a landscaper to handle challenges with my yard. I was disappointed and shocked with how other people were running their businesses. Daniel and his team restored my faith in good, honest, customer-focused, family business. Their quote request system is organized and well-communicated and the office/administrative staff are friendly and flexible to work with requests/changes and your price range. Daniel personally oversees the project from the beginning to the end. The day before your project, Thompson sends an email with pictures of the crew that will arrive at your house. Every "landscape ninja" is talented, top-notch, hard-working, courteous and polite. They operate well together as a team and have everything planned out and give an overview before they start. Disappointing! Made contact with Cameron. He called and asked if we could meet earlier than 4:00p, I said no but discussed what we would like done - 2 nice sized flower beds at the end of driveway, we were providing stone for outline of drainage pipe. He understand job description. I asked him to call me if he had any questions. Cameron said give him a few days to work up quote. I did 2 follow up emails....no response. Its been 2 weeks as of 05-02-2022. I will assume they do not need any business from me. The other quote I received was to me, outrageously priced. So I gave them a shot. Thompson & Sons Landscaping truly cares about their customers! My yard had dead grass, empty flower beds, standing water in my backyard, and a dead tree in the back. Thompson & Sons Landscaping came in and laid new sod, planted beautiful flowers and bushes in my flower beds, created a drainage system in my backyard and laid out rocks to make the area look awesome and they removed the dead tree and planted a new tree for me! We are planning a new privacy fence install in a couple of months and I can't wait! I highly recommend them for any landscaping needs you may have! read more

The bid for landscaping was provided promptly and the work was done when promised and well. I'm quite pleased with the results.

Disappointed in the final product. Some plants selected were not quality, most were put in the ground with the best side facing the house, the annuals weren't planted in the dirt just mulch put over them (because they are being replaced next year so you don't want them buried too far), and the design had more plants on it than were planted yet the plant budget was exceeded by $180!!! Site crew never tested irrigation system before leaving, even though sod was installed, flower beds were supposed to be leveled and large holes were dug for plants. Didn't water fresh laid sod or plants even after asking for a hose to do so. Tore up the yard using a mini skid steer to move mulch and took a chunk out of a cement stair and cracked the other side of the stair. Left cut branches, dug up root balls, and other mess in the flower bed then covered it all with mulch. I'm sorry, but for a professional landscaper that had great reviews I expected better. We signed a contract saying we would pay for $4000 worth of work on our front flower beds including tree trimming, planting, sod & mulch. Sounds like a lot of work. Took the crew of 8-10hours and my husband and I another 4 hours to clean up, rotate plants, fix irrigation, etc. It looks better, but not what you would expect for $4000. We honored our part of the contract because it is our fault for believing there actually was a good honest landscaper we could trust. We wanted to keep business local during the pandemic and help the Bryan/College Station economy. We did not have $4000 to throw away and I feel like we wasted a big chunk of that money. We have now given up hope of ever finding a decent landscaper in this town. I think you all write your own positive reviews. read more
