My 2nd CTR done by UK and it already feels 90% better.

On May 5th 2026 I had carpal tunnel surgery on my right wrist due to numbness on 4 fingers. I went to BGO for evaluation and talked to PA Justin Sammons. He refered a nerve study (EMG) be done. I had that done and it determined I had MILD to MODERATE nerve damaged. PA Justin recommended Dr. Victor Marwin who was doing this procedure arthoscopically. Your downtime is just 4 or 5 days doing it this way, less invasive and no PT required after and I would have instant relief. Dr. Marwin is the greatest one for doing this and travels abroad to teach this Justin said. I had the surgery and my condition of numbness and electrical tingling did not go away. A follow-up with PA Justin was scheduled and he then stated it could take up to 12 to 18 months for this pain to go away. In August 2026 after 8 moths of this pain I had a 2nd opinion at UK Hand Clinic. They stated a MILD to MODERATE nerve study should take that long to relieve this pain. I had a new EMG done and that was compared to BGO EMG study and it showed very little improvement after their arthoscopic surgery. I had my 2nd surgery completed yesterday 8/27/2026 by UK. The Dr. confirmed the tunnel was not released all the way, a total failure by BGO. Dr. Victor Marwin has now left BGO and can't be found anywhere. Bottom line they pushed this type of procedure to get the insurance approval. I personally would not take a cat to have anything done there.

When it comes to peace of mind when I seek medical treatment, I'm pretty thorough. I was referred to Bluegrass Orthopaedics from Urgent Care. With X-rays in hand, I visited this location to figure out the ankle situation. Just know: social distancing and mask wearing were reinforced from check-in to being escorted to the exam rooms. My doctor was warm and had a great bedside manner. He reviewed the x-rays, my ankle, and gave me several treatment options. I could tell he loved his profession and it's nice to see a smiling face (well his eyes were happy), too.

For this trip, I'd been referred to the Sports Medicine Center to follow up on my ankle. After the check-in, I was examined by the doctor. Writing this review is a mixed bag for me. My orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Burandt, is wonderful but I…read moredon't like having to see him because that means I have broken something! Last year he treated me when I fractured my fibula & this year I broke my leg in three places while on vacation and had to have emergency surgery in St. Lucia! Upon my arrival back to the states, he came and saw me in the hospital because I could not get to his office. He told me the surgeon had done a wonderful job (thank goodness!) & I would be going to a rehabilitation facility for a couple of weeks, Home therapy after that & that is what I am still doing. He has seen me each month since the break (May) & always explains everything to me so it is easy to understand. The office staff is very efficient and I usually don't have to wait too long-they don't overbook appointments so you are not sitting there waiting forever-that's a real plus! I hope you never have to go, but if you do, I highly recommend this practice.

TL;DR they only care about money and only want to operate they do not care about their patients…read more I saw them early 2023 for a mass in-between my knuckles on my right hand. Dr. Napolitano looked me dead in my face and told me nothing was wrong with my hand when you can physically see and feel a mass in-between my knuckles. Then told me I could seek a second opinion when I asked them to explain what we could see and feel on my hand. She just left the room without answering my questions. This place does not care about their patients. It's only about the money they can make off you. I got that second opinion and turns out I have rheumatoid arthritis and it was inflammation in my hand. I have had 3 steroid injections in it and just recently got the RA diagnosis. Go to UK hand clinic at Turfland instead of here you'll actually get taken care of.

A little disappointed that neither person who seen me introduced themselves nor had a ID badge that was visible to me.
