Hard pressed to find a boarding facility for the holiday weekend where we live so I called and made a reservation here for my sweet Tank. He stayed there for a week. I paid extra for the daily updates since we were so far away and received them like clockwork. One day they forgot the pix and they credited us for that day. Only negative I could see was he came back pretty spoiled since the staff thought he was so cute and packed him around all the time. Will use them again.

My 14 year old Stella loves Bluegrass Pet Chalet! It's a family owned business and you can tell they love them. I don't feel like I'm just "dropping her off'. I love knowing she gets her daily walks in such a clean and beautiful setting. We already have another visit booked. I can't recommend them enough and I'm a picky dog mom :)

We have a 6yr male mix and a 1yr female mix. They stayed recently a Friday through Monday in a VIP suite. I was nervous leaving someplace new for the 1st time, but I left reassured. At check in, feeding times, medications, toys, any behaviors were discussed and written down. I said the bath wasn't necessary due to our older dog not liking water. The groomer said she'd try. I was surprised to find out she had no issues with baths or nails. We were sent pictures daily and they were having such fun. Little notes were included too. We will be using them again. read more

We left our two year old Cavapoo for her first time at Bluegrass Pet Chalet. It is so obvious she was well cared for and had lots of love! They provided daily communication which was amazing and put our minds to ease and knew she was in great care! We couldn't be more thankful for this business and highly recommend them! read more

Highly recommend! We had never boarded our 14 year old dog. I visited several kennels and didn't feel comfortable with how she would do. As soon as I viewed BG pet chalet I knew it was the place for her. We opted for a room in the house as well as daily photos. She was often outside in the photos. When we picked her up she was at ease with where she was. read more

Thankful we found a place for Hazel to enjoy while we were out of town. The location is great, the entire property is top notch and with the daily updates we received I am not sure there is a better option in central Kentucky. Hazel definitely had a great time and made some new friends. Having Bluegrass Pet Chalet is going to make traveling so much easier. Knowing she has so much fun is a big bonus. read more

5 star spring break for our Hazel girl while we were at the beach! We can not recommend BPC enough for your fur babies We normally have a dog/house sitter stay with her but had a last minute change in plans. She did not seem to see the difference, because she felt right at home in her VIP suite. She received extra love and attention and enjoyed her fellow furry friends who were also enjoying their time away from home. The accommodation options are great for all sizes and personalities. Your pet will love their stay and you will enjoy your vacation knowing your pets are being cared for like they were at home. read more

Outstanding place to board pets. We have two dogs that we board there regularly and the dogs love it. Just about run out of the car when we get there. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. Rates are very reasonable. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to board pets. read more

The facility is very nice and modern, with clever indoor/outdoor stalls for each pet. They have a fair rate, and even charge by the night instead of trying to get an extra 'day' out of you for each end of your pet's stay. I felt that my dog was safe and going to be well taken care of. However, I was upset by the owner's overbearing attitude. Upon checking in my dog, I was told bluntly that she was too skinny and that I needed to be feeding her more. I explained that she had seen a vet less than a month earlier and was told that her weight was a "6 on a scale of 1 to 10, with 5 being the target. She could stand to lose just a couple of pounds." This did not deter the owner, and so I politely thanked her for her opinion and left it at that. But that did not stop her from telling me no less than 4 additional times (that day, over the phone, and when I picked up) that my dog was an unhealthy weight and that I was feeding her wrong amounts of food. When I picked her up after the 2 day stay I weighed her to see if maybe I was missing something, but she actually was a pound over when the vet had last seen her. (And for the record, I have had 2 other vets during the life of this pet, and both others agreed that my dog's weight, which has remained consistent, is healthy.) It's not a big deal. She can have her opinion. But she is not a veterinarian, and she implied that she knew better than my dog's vet, who had seen her for years, examined her, and knew her real history and needs. I don't really care that the kennel owner was wrong, because that's not what I was paying her to do. But THAT is the problem. I wanted a place for my dog to stay for the weekend, not an opinion about how I am raising my dog given to me over and over again. A fine place to take your dog, but only if you don't mind being judged. read more

Stress free drop off and pick up, owners were very nice! Super clean environment! Dogs were calm, and appeared to love it like home! Would highly recommend, and we will be using this for all our future boarding needs. read more

I've had animals all of my life and I've taken them to various groomers ranging from Georgetown to Lexington to Richmond and I've never been happier with a facility than I am with this place. I will never bring my pup anywhere else! To Abby J. below: There are leash laws in Lexington and I'm glad they said something to you because if I witnessed you with your dog off of a leash (whether people were in the parking lot or not) I would have said something to you as well! It takes only one time and one second for your dog to attack someone else or to run out into the road and end up injured or dead. If you're too lazy to leash your dog for 5 seconds, you're too lazy to own a dog. I also find it hard to believe they had an attitude with you over the time you would arrive to pick up your dog. I work in Georgetown and have, many times, called them to apologize and say that with traffic and the time I get off work, that I wouldn't be there until right at 6pm and they were perfectly fine with that. However, I also chose to give them more than a 15 minutes notice because I'm not rude. ;) I would venture to guess that it's likely your behavior and attitude that resulted in a poor customer experience because I've never once had a single hint of unprofessional-ism from either of the owners. You knew well before 5:45pm that you wouldn't arrive until close to 6pm and the fact that you had to take New Circle during rush hour didn't cross your mind at all or factor into the time you gave? Lol It sounds like you were the problem in this situation.

I'm happy to have a credible option for his care whenever the need is there.

The staff was so friendly and of course Shadow was his charming self until it came to the exam lol. They were gentle with him and gave him plenty of treats afterwards . His Doctor was friendly and very enthusiastic about Shadow being in such good shape . He has nice teeth , clean ears, clear lungs . Knowing all of this made me relax more. He got a clean bill of health with the exception that he's FIV positive. Shadow is the only cat in our house and he's strictly a indoor cat. Even with that he can and will live a full life . One of the ladies did agree with me that he looks like he's part Russian Blue. In terms of cost the initial exam was free because we adopted him from LHS . I did pay for some additional testing and I think it was a fair price . Shadow does have pet insurance for those just in case moments hopefully they'll be none of those. I even went to the Grooming section to peek in the window, but it wasn't available for me to see inside, but that dog was crying so much. It literally made me go home and get on YouTube and look up Grooming I would hate for someone to torment my dog like that. Maybe your dog is a little sensitive but something has to give.
