They prey on those new to the city. They will tow your car from your home. No notification, your car will be just gone. they will charge you fees and make you jump through hoops to get your car back...they will take advantage of people. This place is actually called Rogers towing now. I came here on a Monday night to take the remaining items out of my car one a cold rainy night. I was greeted and taken cared of pretty quickly. Had to use this business when I needed to get out of a sticky situation. Even the cop, who stopped by to help out stated that the city had a contract with them and speeded up the process by calling in. I was able to get a receipt by email and hope to be reimbursed by my insurance company. Edit: After looking at the rest of the comments, I kind of see why the gal, Kendra, told me that they do not do work with insurance companies. You have to pay in cash or credit. I'm astonished that the city of Lexington supports a towing company like this. I was visiting from out of town to help a friend move into their apartment. My car was left alone for five minutes. I walked outside to get more items to bring in and this towing company already had my car lifted. I ran after them, yelling, before they exited the parking lot and they continued to drive away. I have heard stories similar to mine from residents and visitors in Lexington. Is this how Lexington treats it's visitors: it's tourists? It's an awful impression for somebody who had never been here before. I understand a car being towed if it's left somewhere for hours or overnight. I cannot understand a car being towed after being left alone for minutes in a residential parking lot. Also, just think about who this is hurting. It is not hurting wealthy people, who can easily pay away their towing fees. It is directed towards poor people. The city is making money off of mass impounds, and then further exploiting poor people who cannot afford to pay the $142 fee to pick up their car. For example, simply because someone did not see a sign that they needed a sticker to park in a lot, a person may have their car towed. If they cannot pay the $142, they cannot get their car. Each day is an additional $45. The fees rack up quickly and then the city auctions off a (poor) persons car to subsidize projects that should be from taxes. Now this person cannot get to work, nor support their family. I'm sure you can understand where I'm going with this. At the end of the day, this towing company is a class-traitor and the city is exploiting people who cannot afford to get their car out of impound. The city of Lexington left a terrible taste in my mouth. I will not be back. Side note: They don't even offer discounts to veterans. Absolutely pitiful. read more

From the moment you walk in, you get extra angry service by the receptionist collecting your money. Her name is Kendra. This woman doesn't care about anyone except her cigarette she's about to smoke on break. She has permanent RBF and is a miserable human. I guess I will give her the benefit of the doubt though as she's unqualified to do anything else except collect money from innocent people. She's one unpleasant being. I feel super bad for her husband and kids, if she has any. The entire mentality of this business is to screw people over. They do not care about you, your situation, or whatever. They also have 'rats' in the community who will call them and get a cut from telling them who to come tow. So watch out people, these are Kentucky scumbags. Do not use this company when you need a tow either. My family has used them and they are slow, expensive, and have hidden fees. Don't let them fool you. Several other towing companies in the area who are super solid. BlueGrass Towing/Roberts Towing is one entity now I believe. I got towed by BlueGrass and billed by Robert's. Is this another scam they are running? Probably... WATCH OUT & BEWARE! If you were hanging off of a cliff but parked 'illegally', they wouldn't save you. They would tow you and then bill you and use all of their profits for a case of cigarettes they all could smoke while waiting for their next crooked deal to come through. I was visiting my grandmother yesterday in her apartment to take her some food (she's had COVID and can't fend for herself at the moment). I was in her apartment for maybe 30 minutes and I came back to find my car towed by these clowns. I called and tried to explain the situation, and they wouldn't budge. They're scum. It's just disgusting the way they're not actually doing their contract with an apartment complex (will be reviewing them next) but looking to make money off of people, regardless of the situation. They don't care about private citizens rights. There was a jerk who parked in the handicapped parking space in my complex. I called Roberts towing to have the law breaking car removed. Rick, although very pleasant and professional, promised me that they would come. They were busy with police calls. Now I am patient and understanding... But after 7 hours of waiting they never showed up. Called a few times. The last call a woman answered and was extremely rude and uncaring. Probably the same one everyone else has a problem with. She should be fired honestly. Has no business working with the public. It is very unsettling that people can take over the handicapped parking..and nothing will be done about it. Next time I'll just call the news media and have them wait and see how the handicapped are treated in this city. read more

A truly terrible experience. Abysmal as the only word to describe it. I got a new car recently, and I proceeded to call my landlord the next day and ask about getting a sticker for it so that I wouldn't be towed. I was all set to go in..... and bam, car gone. Even though it was a brand new car, obviously a recent purchase, even though I had all of the proper identification in the glove box, proving I lived at the apartment complex, I was towed anyway. I proceeded to be extorted for almost $150, and to make matters worse, I was missing some gas, which makes me think one or more of their "employees" took my car for a bit of a spin while I was trying to get it back. If 0 stars were possible that's what I would rate them. Imagine leaving for work early in the morning and your car is just GONE. They towed me from my apartment parking lot even though I had a VALID permit. They proceeded to tell me it was invalid and fake. When I got there the company I am renting from offered to cover the impound fee since my car was wrongfully impounded. The lady that sits at the front desk was beyond rude the entire time I was there and kept trying to poke my buttons to get me to go off on her. Her attitude and demeanor was one of entitlement. My car had already been paid for. In addition I could only find my last years registration in my car which has my father's name on it even though as of this year the car is in MY name. I finally got my insurance lady to send me a new copy of the insurance with MY name on it so that I could get my car out. When I went back in the girl at the desk told me "come back at 7 sweetie for being a b****". You betcha we called the police...These people are money hungry scumbags. read more

I am commenting from a different perspective than most people here. I attempted to get my parking spot back when about 5 different cars were in my available spots without parking stickers. When I reported the undocumented cars to them (once, twice, three and four times over the course of a week), they did not remove a single car. Looks like either they don't want to make money or they are truly incompetent at their job (and I hate towing companies to begin with). So I'd say you're just SOL if you do get towed- because there are probably 10 other people they totally ignored. read more

This place is a true disgrace. I wish I could give them zero starts. Woke up at 7 am to find my boyfriends car towed from our apartment complex. We were told that our parking pass was "placed in the wrong spot". But meanwhile every other person, including myself, who live there have the sticker in the same place. But for some reason they towed ONLY his car. We have a letter saying to put it where we placed it from the apartments but that doesn't matter. Than to add to it the receptionist Cherry was a complete jerk and did not want to help at all. He missed out on three plus hours of pay. Wow. I was wondering if there would be bad reviews of this place when I got on here and was not too surprised to find that 95% of the reviews told of unethical behavior and scumminess. My wife had to leave her car in the parking lot behind the Fazoli's on Nicholasville Road, as her car has been having trouble starting at times of late. These bottom-feeders apparently swung through there around 1am, before we could get a friend over to the car to have a look at it. I agree with another reviewer that even one star is too much, though Yelp requires at least one. When we went down to the bowels of Lexington to pick up her car, we were met by two smug characters behind a prison-style bulletproof glass window. You could tell they were dealing all-shift long with pissed-off people coming down to get their cars who've been ripped off. Add to this that my wife's car had some scratches on it that we didn't believe were there previously. We mentioned it to them before we moved the car and they said they had before and after pictures, which I'm sure that have their henchmen take to cover their asses. I told them that was fine and I'd like to see the pictures to be sure. They wouldn't let me see the pictures. I can only think from this suspicious behavior that the pictures in some way implicated them in poor service and carelessness. After playing phone-tag with Clarence, the ringleader, for the next four days, we finally connected. He was uncaring of the situation, unyielding in remedying their unethical behavior, and undoubtedly well-practiced in slithering out of these situations. Clarence seemed miffed when I told him I would be posting reviews of our disgusting experience. I told him that while the unwary towees in Lexington couldn't help having their vehicles schlepped down to this craphouse, there are those people who would call them randomly for the breakdown-tow or roadside assistance. For those innocent people in need, it would be unconscionable for me to not inform the public of their ridiculous and primitive behavior. I suggest calling another tow company, if you are in need, for better service, so you can get the help you need from people who have at least an iota of ethical standards. read more

This business is as crooked as I have ever dealt with. If you are looking for a quality and honorable tow company scroll past this one and go to any other tow business. Just look at other reviews and you will get the idea. I pulled into my daughter parking lot and went into her apartment to get the parking pass. I noticed a bluegrass tow truck trolling the lot. I was in my daughter apartment (3rd floor) for less than 5 minutes and my car was already rolling down the street. Evidently, he watched me get out of my car and waited for me to go into the building then proceeded to hook my car and take it away. I was back in my car 15 minutes later and $140 lighter. But it's 10pm in Lexington and they have the audacity to mock my girlfriend for being upset, and THEN force her to go alone with employee(s) and leave her friends at the gate to get her car. Very unprofessional receptionist and manager. The worst I have come across in my life. My HOA has them troll our neighborhood at night as we are not supposed to park in front of our own houses. I came in at 9 pm Friday after visiting my sister in ICU. My husband's vehicle was in the driveway and there were no other spots available to park. I spent an hour loading my vehicle with items to help move my daughter to Illinois Saturday for an internship. Upon seeing my vehicle was gone Sat morning, I called them. They said they didn't have it I called back twice and was told same thing. Finally I called the police who came to file a stolen vehicle report. They also called BG/Roberts and were assured my vehicle wasn't there. I rented a car to put remaining items I had not packed to follow my daughter to Illinois. I get a call on the way there from police. My car was at their lot the whole time. They blamed the tow truck driver for reporting it under the wrong make of vehicle. They could have easily walked outside to double check but they did not. When I told them I had to rent a car I was lectured on parking without a permit ( ??) and told they didn't tell me to rent a car. I asked to speak to the manager. She was even more rude than the receptionist. I tried to explain to her how many times I called them and what I had been through. I didn't yell, didn't curse. She said not her problem and hung up on me. The ugliest most unprofessional people I have run across ever. They only have one star due to the review not posting without inputting at least one. Typical rip off towing company. They towed my daughter's car for an admittedly legitimate reason. When I go to retrieve the car, it would not start. Key would not turn in ignition and steering wheel was locked. Tried for 20-30 minutes with 2 sets of keys. Car was having zero issues prior to towing. I mentioned this to office worker and got a blank stare back in reply. After paying $145 to get them to release car from impoundment, they tell me it will cost another $30 to release the car to AAA to tow for repair. The car was 10 yards from the office. I don't know how these people work in this dump, much less sleep at night. read more

Called to have a car towed from my assigned parking spot at 9pm, called again at 10 pm and again at 11pm and 1am. Had to be on the phone with my landlord all night to find a place for my car so sit while waiting for the tow truck. They finally came at 7am and the lady who parked in my spot got to it before they could take it away. The people on the phone were rude, they provided no information and no help. Major shout out to the Bluegrass Towing operator who finessed a car out of the Qdoba on Euclid parking space. The lot and fire lanes were blocked by cars and like a boss, he slipped that car out. My car broke down in Lexington while I was in town picking my daughter up from college. I called Bluegrass towing to haul it to their lot, since it was late at night and I couldn't get the parts to fix until the next morning. Tow truck driver and dispatch on night shift were super nice. Two hundred mile round trip later, got to the lot the next morning and was greeted by the rudest human I have ever met. After being told that we could put the part on in the lot, they didn't want us to put a simple part on the vehicle to get it going and were horrible to deal with, all around. We were treated like criminals. And to think, I actually, willingly, paid money to these people's business. Horrible customer service. I actually feel bad for their coworkers. It must be a miserable life. Next time, I won't call them. One star because they did haul our vehicle and I can't do a zero star, but if they ever have to depend upon return customers to call them for service, they will lose their business. We had been towed as my boyfriend had come by quickly to pick me up from my apartment and all the visitor spots were taken. He parked as close to the visitor spot as he could (one spot over) while he came up to get me. When we went to pick up the car, the employees were rude and refused to acknowledge us properly and some of the drivers even made rude comments to my boyfriend about the situation.
