No wonder they get 2.5 star. Only my second time here with my mom, on my bd mind you and being treated the way they treated us is unacceptable. Being treated like a beggars, like we were there for free products. We knew what we needed, they told us they would grab what we need, we stood around like fools not knowing she went on and helped someone instead. The bag they gave to that client was precisely wrap and sprayed with Perfume, the one we gave us (yes after I figured out the lady was helping us left us hanging) was handed to us with no wrapping. Ok, I thought it was just me until I read the reviews. The ladies working at this location have the most miserable vibe I've ever witnessed in customer service. I've been in multiple times and they all have sour, stuck up attitudes. They make you feel like you are an inconvenience to even be in the store. I was prepared to purchase something today, but I will be ordering online instead because I didn't want to be in the store any longer. The only reason I still come here is because they carry a few brands I love that other stores in the area don't have. 2 stars for carrying unique brands that an Ulta or Sephora may not have. read more

The manager of this location is a miserable person who clearly hates her job. So unprofessional. Crabby, and beyond rude. There is a toxic vibe in this store that makes it very unpleasant to shop. I love this place! Blue Mercury sells some of the best products I have found. I love that they don't overload their shelves with non quality items mixed in with the good ones. I love the women at the BlueMercery at the Kierlands. I was introduced to my favorite foundation, which is Lune Ester, it looks like your own skin but better. Plus it has really good vitamins and other skincare built into it to help w/uneven skin tone, anti-aging skin products, plus a sun block which you really can't do with out here in AZ. They carry very high end brands. Did I say this is my favorite makeup store? These women know their brands. So they can really help you. read more

I really don't understand why the Kierland Blue Mercury cannot seem to find customer service oriented staff. When they opened years ago it was awesome. The store manager was key and the ladies and gentleman were outstanding. Over the years a few wound up going to camelback, Kierland's loss but aside from the manager who was always a standout caring professional who enjoyed being there, 90% of the staff just seem like they don't understand that human beings are buying makeup, skin and hair care. Being nice isn't so hard. It is an off feeling when the person helping you stares consistently in another direction, and gives a facial moisturizer sample the size of a pea. Really? And that was on just one visit. Won't say about the second. I'm glad for the old manager who went on to enjoy her life and follow different passions but this store feels like walking into a cemetery. And in an answer to my initiating question, after reading Glassdoor they are probably just not happy there. So sad this place should be booming but with the newest complete staff turnover it is worse than ever. As a google review asked, 'How does this place stay in business?' I must wonder the same thing. My wish to the workers, your behavior shows you don't care. But if you don't care and aren't happy please leave. I went into Bluemercury today at Kierland. I was looking at which brands they have in the store. I walked around and asked the price of a Bobbi Brown eyeshadow. I didn't see the price until after asking. I said oh, that's not bad. The salesperson didn't ask if I would like to purchase the item. She immediately turned and went to help another customer who had just arrived in the store. I found this rude. I know I had jeans on, but I guess I didn't reflect her desired clientele. I shop at Kierland all the time. This is the first store to have the salesperson turn their back on me and walk off. Needless to say, I won't shop at this store. read more

Today I bought Oribe, Virtue, and M-61 products, their in-house brand. I needed skincare and hair products. They had nice candles I checked out and will in the future buy. Overall fun time, lots of choices of makeup and body care. After buying 6 items. The woman helping me offered a few samples of brands I was already buying, so I could try out some new things! We will not be returning to this store. We try to support local business even when it costs a little bit more money but when you advertise a sale of 20.00 off for every 100.00 you spend it needs to be just that. Instead we were hooked in with the offer of the sale and when we put two products together that totaled 250.00 at checkout we were told we could only get 20.00 off as they would only honor the sale as a "per item" basis. Since one of our products was 166.00 and another was 88.00 we would only get 20.00 off. This is a type of shady sleazy business practice that we will not support. We will be buying elsewhere from now on. read more

My two daughters and I went shopping for lipgloss to blue mercury In Kierland on March 18, 2023. We had a wonderful time testing products all over the store. One middle aged dark blue haired lady employee tried to approach me with extra supervision that I have refused and said to her that someone else is helping us. Once we were finished choosing our final products which were 4 different lipglosses and one lipstick that lady has approached me again but this time she was very pushy and rude. She started with the phrase: "I have to take control over the situation." she said. I told her that we don't need her help. She continued with a lengthy description of what she has to do to disinfect everything that we have tested. I asked her if she is complaining about my kids and I shopping. She said no. Then she continued to talk to me in a rude voice about how my kids were testing products. I said they were using samples and followed the instructions that the other (nice) employee provided to us. And asked her again if she was complaining. She said no. She continued to make me feel uncomfortable until I gave her all the products back that were worth $250 and left the store. Very rude. I felt very uncomfortable disrespected and discriminated because she went after my kids. Made the whole shopping experience so awful. On the brighter side... She saved me so much money! I came home and ordered the same products on Amazon and paid half the price!!! Bottom line: didn't enjoy the store experience but tried the products I wanted. I guess I could thank this rude controlling employee who made me want to leave the store because she saved me so much money! Bad customer service. I went to the Kierland Commons location yesterday. I am a servant mask wearer and have NO problem with wearing one and encourage others to do so. That said, I stood in the doorway at Blue Mercury and asked pulled my mask about an inch away from my nose to ask if they carried Kiels products. One of the sales people rudely said that I needed to wear a mask. Thinking she couldn't see me from her position, about 12 feet away, I said, "Oh, I have one on?" She, ironically, did the same thing and pulled her mask away to tell me that I needed to keep it up. I was never unmasked. I turned heel and walked away from the store. I was with a friend who will also never go back in. There was NO reason for this. It was a pathetically unnecessary. read more

I wanted to ask a lot of questions because it's a beauty store, with a million products. I want to make sure my money goes towards great products that work best for my skin. However the clerk seemed more interested in looking at herself in the mirror than helping me find a product- I wish I could say I was joking when I said that. I finally left with a new item that I then immediately opened upon leaving the store, and it's a good thing I did because the product started to leak everywhere!! I went back in to exchange it and she couldn't seem to care any less about the issues I was having with the brand new product I just bought from the store. I wanted to share my experience I had at this location. I have been to quite a few. I travel back and forth from Chicago. I was fortunate to work with Kristen at the Kierland AZ location. She is a very passionate about helping and had allot of patience with me to get me in the right direction of my investment in skin and hair. I went into Kierland location today to look at a makeup palette that I was interested in. After telling the sales clerk what I was looking for and why, she showed me the particular item. I than asked her if she could show me the proper ways to use the colors together. Big mistake... the sales person either did not know how to demo the palette or she was not interested in demoing. She was very short in her answers to my questions and spent all of 20 seconds swiping a brush over one color and dusted it on one cheek. I than asked her about lip color, big mistake again because I just got a look like I was an imposition, not a customer. She than passed me onto another clerk who did help me. In the end I spent $200+, with the original clerk ringing up the sale with no "thank you" or can I offer you any samples to try. Needless to say, I won't be back here to spend my money.
