Bluff Country Co-op is an awesome, full-sized co-op with tons of vegan options, including a fresh juice/soup/sandwich bar and in-house baked goods. We got a vegan quiche ($14) which was gluten-free and tasted pretty good. We also had a vegan peanut butter dessert bar thing that was nice. Came to Winona to ice climb for a few days with a pal. Drove 4 hours and we didn't have time to pack much food after work so we were nervous about healthy and nourishing options in a small community during COVID. A quick search led us to the co-op. Their website has the daily menu posted which was extremely helpful (and tantalizing!) Their hours were reasonable given the season and the options plentiful. Both days of chilly, cold climbing ended with trips to the co-op for fresh organic veggies, fruit, as well as chocolate and snacks. But also with a HOT MEAL which was so appreciated by us. We took everything to our hotel room and feasted. Everything was delicious and the staff was so friendly and wonderful. The kitchen space (which was open and visible) was clean, organized and smelled great. The soups were awesome also and the leftovers from the day prior were available to take home and heat (so we were able to try one we thought we missed from the day prior - lucky us!) We enjoyed everything and love the prepackaged salads and desserts as well as the mains. The whole place was easy to navigate and had wonderful options. We know we have a good option for healthy, organic, and plant-based food during our next visit to Winona to climb which we are already looking forward to. Kudos to the staff of this co-op and to the community for supporting such a wonderful establishment. Winona is an impressive little community that should continue to support the outdoor activities year round it can host. If you're a vegan in Winona I would check out this co op because I know there arnt a lot of options to get vegan food in Winona. At the deli serving fresh foods,they have vegan wraps, cinnamon rolls, chocolate mousse, Cole slaw, noodles, other sandwiches, and they also have a take and bake pizza (but life hack) they will make it for you there and you can eat it outside like we did. So there's A LOT of options The staff there are so friendly and told us other options around the area with vegan friendly options! Co-ops rocks!! read more

Nice medium sized, super clean co-op, with a really large selection of diverse offerings, with a healthy selection of locally procured goods. Particularly impressive was the selection of Kombucha, (including a few local brands from the area which I'd never seen). I tried a blueberry kombucha from "Big River Kombucha," and it was really good. Salad bar was super clean, and had a good selection of offerings, but what was really amazing was the blueberry muffin they make here; it was made with freshly ground whole wheat, along with fresh blueberry, applesauce, honey, and other delicious ingredients, and it was one of the tastiest (very unique taste) muffins I've had. Nice little vertical hike at Garvin Heights that overlooks the valley that you can do afterward too (assuming you park at the bottom and walk up) that is just a mile away. read more

Oh Winona, MN you have everything I love in such a small beautiful place! You have music venus, good coffee, great people and a place where this little old Vegan can get some great food to eat! The Bluff Country Co-op had a great produce section, some nice bulk delights, plenty of Cliff bars, and other healthy fun stuff. They had a hot soup bar, and even vegan pastries! Sign me up! The staff was really nice, we came in at 5:30 pm on a Saturday night and it was pretty slow but the store still had a good vibe! Natural products, nice people, cool store, awesome community! I shop at the coop each time I am in Winona. I love the smells when I enter. Their deli offers delicious fresh food choices. I always treat myself to an entrée take out for lunch while finishing my errands. Their meat and produce are always fresh and sometimes on special. Their selection meets all my needs even in the pandemic I have not been disappointed that something was in short supply. I have to add the staff is wonderful. Great organic food selection, the only co-op in Winona. They also have amazing lunch sandwiches , the chipotle roast beef was my fav. , I miss their cherry fudge bars, they don't make them anymore. I just wish their prices were a bit lower, be sure to support this business They do send a mailer in the mail on an almost weekly basis to their members informing them of any special deals. read more

They are still updated the store which is pretty annoying, but it has great product. Like any other place, some things are cheaper and some things are pricier. There are never too many workers so you probably will have to wait in line or wait to ask for assistance. They have good soup that you can pickup there, too! I wish they had more bulk products, though. I love that when you bring your own reusable bag they give you a bean symbolizing 5 cents that you can choose to put in a jar with choices of different charities.
