First shoreline area on the right hand side of the trail walking towards the point.

Great ~3mi walking loop with an excellent view of the LI Sound at the bluff. Make sure you check for ticks during tick season! MOST dog owners are responsibly keeping their dogs leashed in accordance with CT State Park leash requirements - but there are occasionally issues with this - just like any other place you will visit. There is a large parking lot so parking is usually not an issue - and there are multiple port-a-potties available as well. Use caution when turning on to the unpaved portion of the road after going under the bridge - there are LARGE potholes that can damage your vehicle if you are not careful!

900th review!!!!Great spot. Nice wide trails and very clean. Plenty of parking. Benches and picnic tables to sit or enjoy a bite to eat. Cant wait to go back in the fall time. Can also see the small private planes take off and land across the way!

Walking/hiking the loop: amazing walk if you enjoy long ones! Definitely bring your dog along! There's a trail but my boyfriend and I decided to go the unsafe way and climb through all the rocks, which was quite fun if you're into that haha!! It was probably an hour or so each way (trail or beach walk) Fishing: definitely recommend bringing the right clothing so you aren't worried about your clothes/shoes or go off of a boat/kayak. Not too much luck from the edges! Shell hunting: if you're looking for pretty shells to take home I wouldn't recommend this place. Not many shells, mostly rocks. The reason for the 3 stars: this is a personal reason not because of the area itself! If you have bad arachnophobia like I do, do not come here lol. It's spider central! Every step I took 5 spiders would jump out lol (near the water not walking trail) It's a great place depending on what you're looking for !

My friends and I had such an enjoyable afternoon. We need here at 10 o'clock in the morning and there was plenty of parking available. We walked the trail and made a loop around it was exactly 11,000 steps. I figured it was about 3 miles some of it was uphill I enjoyed myself very much.

No need to bluff... this was a great place to run! Visiting from out of town so I didn't know what to expect (hills, terrain, safety, etc.) but was pleased with the experience. Plenty of parking and an easy mobile payment option if you have to pay an out-of-state plate fee. The trail was a 3.8 mile loop with good shade. It was well maintained and easy to run on. Good mix of up and down hills but the majority of it was flat-ish. Great views where you start/end the loop.

Great way to spend the afternoon. My husband and I walked around a mile's worth of the trail and loved the scenery.

    The beautiful water!

Bluff Point is a nice, easy, and relaxing hike. There's a parking lot right at the entrance. You can walk along the path or venture off toward the water where the rocks are. Just be sure to plan ahead and starting heading toward the exit when it starts to get dark. Or you'll have to rely on your phones flashlight since there are no lights anywhere. I'd definitely recommend coming here if you're nearby just to get some fresh air and light exercise. Dogs and bikes are allowed too, which is definitely a bonus.

Stuck in this tree with my sis but it's pretty cool. If you find the tree, I recommend climbing it and helping us down.

During certain times of the year horse, riding and pets are allowed, I walk the trail It was long, but enjoyable and the beach was breathtaking.

I am so impressed with this place! Absolutely beautiful scenery and a beautiful walk. It's about a 1 mile walk (very easy and flat) to get to the official beach but there is a water and beach view almost the entire time. The walk is shaded nicely and the path is surrounded by natural raspberry bushes. The bluffs themselves are beautiful and I loved the look of all the large rocks. I brought my pup and she loved it! We passed about 10 other dogs on the walk so it must be a popular dog spot. We also passed 2 horses! Overall, it's a beautiful place. Whether you're interested in beaching it, a picnic, hiking, kayaking, or horseback riding. Plenty of space for parking. There's even a water spigot and picnic tables near the entrance.. Highly recommend !!

Very beautiful and clean with ample parking. Only 4 stars for 1 bathroom over a mile down the path.

All along the trail are glimpses of the water and places to stop and put your feet in (or swim) if you like.

This place is such a little treasure. This place is so well-maintained. It's stunning. There are so…read moremany different types of trees here and they are labeled so you can get an idea of what type of trees that you're looking at. There are several loops in this place that you can loop around different sections. The main loop is around the pond but there's other shoots so you can spend a couple hours here just wandering around checking out the different things. The trails are well maintained. You may get turned around a little only because there are so many loops but just keep your eye on the pond and you won't get lost. I recommend thisplace. It's very easy walk. My friend and I walked around for about an hour and a half half or so just taking in all of the scenery. We definitely plan to come back here in May or June when the mountain is at its peak because there is so much mountain Laurel here. I think that will be stunning at this time of year. I also want to come back in September October to watch the colors of the leaves change. The parking is off street parking. There are signs for two hour parking. I did not see any charged parking, but it looks like you can park on both sides of the roads up and down the street.

What a hidden gem! Wanted to take a walk along the water on a summer weekend day but finding a good…read morespot that allowed for social distancing was a challenge. Although the arboretum is not on the the sound, this place was perfect. Very quiet and incredibly expansive. I didn't do tons of exploring in here but it looks like there are plenty of paths to walk! The paths aren't paved but to be expected in this environment - very natural wooded area. If walking isn't what you are looking for there is space to spread out and have a picnic (no tables) overlooking some small ponds. This place is easily accessed from a Williams Street. Many of the addresses online have you enter through the gates on Monhegan Ave, you won't be able to access the arboretum here. Had to up on theto drive back out to the main road and drive to the other side of campus where you can access the arboretum. Easily found free 2-hour street parking. Not sure how easy it would be during the academic year but it wasn't an issue when I went but spots had definitely filled in by the time I got back to the car. Looking forward to coming back and this time more prepared to fully experience this wonderful spot!
