When I found two older ladies sitting in a corner eating, I asked if they could help or let me know where the working employee was since I assumed they must be on lunch. One turns to me and said to me in the most sarcastic and rude tone ever, "Yeah, no duh that's us, we did not just sit here and to eat lunch...blah blah". The other lady told her to knock it off and she just rolled her eyes. It was so rude and unpleasant. I cannot believe that they have people like that working there. I will not be back and I told everyone I know about this horrible experience! You are better off taking your money to people who won't treat you like crap!

There is a fabric store and bar on-site. Also, just a short walk to a gas station. Check out the views of the Mississipi dam. If you plan to visit, PLEASE go to the website and read the details of the hotel, check your expectations there and remember, this is an amazingly maintained historic property not a modern day hotel. The call got me the actual mechanic, who admitted he had been…read moreavoiding me because he had fried the electronic board on my sewing machine so it won't work at all. My email didn't get a response. I was far more annoyed by the continuing avoidance issues than the need to replace the machine. The repair guy made some promises about trying to fix it and getting back to me. No surprise, it's been a month, and it's more avoidance. It's sad, because I'd love to buy a Bernina to replace my old machine, and this is the closest dealer. I obviously won't be coming back here.
