I've never been to American Shave before and I scouted them on Yelp before going. They had great reviews except for a couple negative comments about a guy named Maverick, but I was impressed with the owners commitment to follow up and make things right so I took a chance and went in as a walk in. I ended up getting a Signature Cut and Shave. The staff was friendly from the second I opened the door. The drink menu was a nice touch. I was greeted by my barber and when I sat he introduced himself; wouldn't you know...it was Maverick. At first I was a little concerned but that trepidation quickly went away. Maverick was awesome. He was professional. Did a stellar job. Carried on a great conversation over multiple topics. It wasn't long before we were laughing with each other like we were college buddies. His suggestions and attention to detailed were on point. Everyone else in the other chairs seemed to be having a pleasant experience too. The hair cut and beard trim was easily the best I ever received. If you're looking for a place to get a cut and shave from a clean, friendly place with competent barbers who know what they're doing then look no further than American Shave. And if you really want a great experience, ask for Maverick. Don't know why he had negative comments - I guess everyone is entitled to have one of those days. But based on my experience, he got hosed by someone looking for a freebie.
