Very hit or miss depending on who the bartender is. Food is great, but when it comes to the ambiance and feel of the place you are in good hands if Jessica or Dylan are working. Stopped by Blvd Grill and parking was super easy since they have a lot in the back. I went early so there was plenty of space. Sat at the bar and my bartender was amazing, super welcoming and friendly which always sets the tone. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and while the patty itself could've used a little more flavor, that garlic aioli carried. It was so good. I'd definitely come back. read more

Went there for my husband's birthday. Loved everything about this restaurant. The staff was genuinely friendly. Our waitress was wonderful, but sadly I have forgotten her name. The food was so delicious. My husband had the Cajun steak and it was cooked to perfection. I had a smash burger. Seriously the best burger I've had in a long time. So glad this place has re-opened! It was the Boulevard, still drawn on the glass behind the bar, but has a new name, new look and feel. It's been open since early Dec. 2024 and it was our first time here. Front door is a smooth entry but if you come in the back door there is a tiny step so be careful. Bar has the same footprint and there are a mix of high tops and regular tables. Lots of regulars & locals at the bar. Good menu of burgers, sandwiches and dinner options, even a few desserts. We stopped in for a quick lunch. Had burgers, split some wavy fries and a drink. Burgers were small (only 4 oz) but tasty! Eileen is a good pour, efficient & friendly. A friend and I went to dinner there yesterday, we ordered chicken wings asked for them well done and crispy they came out rubbery and gross, not well done AT ALL. My friend got the lobster bisque, she said it was the worst soup she ever had. Our service sucked, waitress never gave us plates for the wings or napkins . Hardly came back to the table. The only good thing was the nice hostess that helped us more than our waitress. The back parking lot is horrendous , huge pot holes everywhere . The ambiance was ok, nice twinkle lights. read more

I had been to the Boulevard plenty of times when the previous over had it and it was more of a bar food only atmosphere and I would say it was a place I thought of to go to dinner; so I was happy to read some reviews about the improvements the new ownership had made and thought my friend and I would give it a try. Reading several posts about the delicious Chicken French I was excited to give it a try and then always take some home for dinner if there were leftovers. Well needless to say, they don't serve any of "those type meals" until after 4pm and it was only 1:30pm when we arrived for a late lunch. The portion of the menu that was available during the day was ok. My friend had a chicken BLT sandwich which was really good he said and I had 5 "jumbo" wings for $10 and a Cesar salad with grilled chicken - both were just average- and the Cesar dressing was more of an Italian dressing than Cesar. One ginger ale and two waters (just tap) came to $60 without tip. The parking lot had a bunch of cars but there was only one other couple there seated at the bar. This is my take on Blvd Grill (a.k.a., "The Boulevard") after having visited just once on Jan 4, 2026. My wife and I were looking for some place to go close by on Sunday evening. We thought we'd give Blvd Grill a shot. I would categorize Blvd Grill as a sports bar, as there was a row of TVs above and around the bar showing the games of local interest (Jets and Bills games). My wife and I aren't big sports fans, and we sat at a small casual table along the wall for dinner. The bar area, including high top tables was very busy with people obviously enjoying themselves, but there were plenty of available small dining tables for 2-6 people. TL;DR We were pleasantly surprised. In spite of the casual appearance, the food and drink were excellent. My wife ordered a glass of Riesling, which was semi-dry (I would actually peg right in the middle between dry and sweet) and was very smooth without that slight bite some Rieslings can have. I ordered a Blue Moon on tap. They had a small number of basic and IPA brews available. Not a large, but a reasonable selection. For dinner my wife ordered the Chicken French, which is one of her favorite dishes. She cooks this dish herself frequently, and is quite critical of how this dish is prepared when we go out. In this case, she was very pleased with it. I ordered a pesto cod dish that was on the menu. I found the cod tender and the dish overall very tasty without being overdone in flavor or cooking. As others have mentioned, the food isn't cheap, although on this particular night they were selling wings at $1/ea, but we didn't order wings. The main courses were in the $20-$30 range. Honestly, though, we've eaten at some higher end restaurants recently and Blvd Grill had them beat in terms of food quality in this case. The service was good. Our waitress was a young lady who was courteous and efficient. Maybe the food and service quality vary depending on the day or night, but based on our single experience, we'd definitely visit Blvd Grill again. read more

Chosen a different meal each visit - Sunday sauce, burgers, their HUGE in-house breaded chicken tenders, Cajun Alfredo, good salads - even great side salads served w entrees. Great food and service! Didn't have a reservation, but got seated fairly quickly for a busy Friday night.

As always this is my experience take it or leave it. After a rough first trial at Blvd, I decided to give it another go and I am glad I did. Nice laid back feel to the place. The service was good, bartender was friendly and quick to greet us. I got an old fashioned which was solid and my wife got a Laurelton Lemonade which was tasty as well. After finishing up our first drinks and doing some people watching. We decided to order some food for takeaway. Tried the wings again, buffalo/garlic parm, and a western burger. Everyone deserves a second chance and in this case it was a win. The wings were cooked great and plenty of flavor. The Western burger was really good. $11 for a burger with pork belly on it? This was our second visit to Blvd Grill since he opened with new management. The first time was ok so we decided to give it a second chance. Sadly, we were very disappointed. My husband had the beer battered fish fry and he said it was ok, not great. It was very large and included two generous sides. I ordered one of the specials, the Steak Alexander. The waitress described it as sirloin steak covered with bacon, feta cheese and sundried tomatos. It included a side of broccoli and wedge potatos and also included a salad. Our dinners arrived but my salad never did so I asked the waitress to just box it up. No problem. Stuff happens. However, the steak alexander arrived undercooked for my request, but still ok. It was covered with undercooked bacon, the feta cheese and spinach. No sundried tomatos. I'm not a big fan of cooked spinach but love sundried tomatos so was disappointed. The steak was flavorful due to the sauce it arrived with. The broccoli was very good; it was cooked perfectly and still hot when it arrived. Same with the wedge potatoes. Also, the restaurant was very loud - a lot louder than when it was under the prior management. I know it's billed as a "sports" restaurant but still very loud. Our waitress was very nice but good have been a bit more attentive (i.e., forgetting to bring the salad). Sadly, we will cross this restaurant off our list. read more

I just had a surprise birthday lunch for my brother with 10 people. We had the best waitress serving us!!! She was not only very attentive, but also extremely funny and fit right in with our group. This was all of our first time at the BLVD Grill. I have to say honestly that it was the best Swiss mushroom burger that I have ever had!!! And the waffle fries were delicious, too. Every person at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I can tell you that you now have 10 more new customers who will definitely be coming back again and again! My aunt and uncle were the original owners of the Boulevard restaurant. It was really nice to be back and enjoy a fantastic meal! You have done a remarkable job redoing the place! Been going to the Boulevard on a somewhat regular basis since it reopened. I've found the appetizers (bar food) to be overpriced and trying to be something it's not. However, when dining, the food has always been good and reasonably priced. I most appreciate the service from the waitresses who are always friendly and attentive. A special shout out to Eileen Hernandez who goes the extra mile. Always making her customers feel special and treated like family. Overall, except for the appetizers, I give this restaurant a thumbs up and will continue my once or twice a week visits. read more

We were regular patrons of the original Boulevard Grill and we're hopeful the new ownership would be just as good. Their French Sauce is second best in Rochester, a perfect blend and not overpowering with lemon tartness. Just love it. We ordered artichoke and broccoli French as an appetizer. My wife ordered the chicken french entree and I ordered the Cajun chicken Alfredo. The sauce was flavorful and creamy. You get a large salad, dinner roll, and entree at average pricing but generous sized portions. Service was spot-on. Our waitress was very attentive and courteous. Drafts are very reasonable at $3.50 - $7 per pint. We did not have dessert, but their selection seemed varied. Glad we have such a nice establishment back in our neighborhood. The Boulevard is back and better than ever! The Blvd re-opened with new owners who are doing a great job. The food is fantastic with great wings, burgers, fantastic fish fry as well as a host of newly created offerings. The team incorporated many updates to refreshing the interior while maintaining some of the nostalgia. We met some family at the Blvd grill to catch up on lost time. We had multiple appetizers, and they were over the top with flavor and appearance. Service was prompted and we were checked on frequently. Definitely have a friendly warm vibe and love the multiple TV's surrounding the bar. Look forward to returning for a visit. Stopped for a quick lunch and beers on Friday 1/3/25. Was never there before new owners but heard the food and service was good. Was NOT disappointed! Friday fish sandwich was huge and thoroughly enjoyed! I had Swiss-Mushroom smash burger with fries. Burger was well cooked but surprised how small on great roll. The food is awesome at the Blvd! It's got traditional bar food, like amazing wings and non-traditional like great chicken French. The Friday fish fry's are the best in the area and their New England clam chowder is delicious. I haven't had a bad meal yet! Check out the newly rebooted Blvd under new ownership. The menu is fairly extensive (although many of the entrees are a bit overpriced) but it was Friday and Rochester does love their beer battered fish fry's. The piece of fish was large, competitive with most in town, and very good. It wasn't overly greasy, not fishy tasting at all. I substituted a side salad which was terrific with spring greens, as a few of my friends did too, but feel that the order of homemade French fries that comes with the fish fry was a bit skimpy. Our server was terrific and attentive. I think the only thing that she could have improved, would be if she automatically brought out glasses of water for all of us. The restaurant was packed, as was the parking lot. I heard from a friend who had dined there previously that the wings were exceptionally good, but I will have to save that for another time. The main dining room, like the entire restaurant has been extensively remodeled. It's clear that the owners put a lot of time, money, and renovations into this building. I was happy to see so many patrons. The bar has lots of tvs overhead...this would be a fun place to watch a game that might be blacked out sometime.
