The teller Nancy seemed a bit flustered, initially would not let me cash my check and told me close the account first. I insisted I wanted the cash out and would then close the account with a personal banker. She then asked me for a debit card pin despite the fact I had a check and a drivers license already out because it would be easier for her to look up the account. On principle I don't give out any private information I am not required to. Eventually she gave me the cash, in a disordered fashion, and told me to come back another day to close the account. I said, I'm going to do this today. Five minutes later I am just a former customer. As a former bank teller, I largely think that tellers are unnecessary (ATMs and online access can do pretty much everything) unless they are excellent at their job. This Chase just seemed okay.

Date of visit: March 31, 2026…read more I stopped in to get a cashier's check as I wasn't able to move funds electronically in a way that would work for me and I was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency and ease of my visit. Daniel helped me right away and when I inquired about a wire versus a cashier's check, whichever was cheaper, he recommended the cashier's check given the wire cost. That worked just fine for me and within a minute I had everything I needed to go on about my day. The entire transaction was seamless and he even gave me an envelope to put the check in. Wish all my bank transactions were this easy!

I moved back to Wisconsin this spring and had an existing account, and also opened a new checking…read moreaccount. I added my wife, who was also a previously on my account and has held a mortgage and a car loan with the credit union. I asked to set up the fast cash feature of the bank app (so I could deposit checks with my phone). I've used similar services at other banks, and I've never had issues. I was told it would take several business days to get it activated. Weeks later it was still not working, so I called again. This time I was told the feature world not be activated for a year. I protested as said that someone else had a agreed to activate it. They apparently dug up the phone call and listened to the conversation, and agreed to activate the feature, but said typically that they wouldn't do it for one year. Today I deposited a $250 check, and then tried to deposit a $1500 check. I was told I exceeded the limit for deposits. I would deposit the check in person, but only the drive through is open, and it's habitually under staffed, with a line of cars around the block waiting for service. ECU does not meet my expectations, I intend to find a new bank.
