Once, when I brought in a large cashier's cheque from an out-to-state bank and needed to use the money promptly, the staff was able to call that bank, then "bend the rules a bit" and shorten up the time that they needed to "hold the deposit" until the paperwork cleared. This credit union provides excellent support (at a great price) if you need expert tax preparation, too. The ONLY complaint that I have about this credit union is that they do not offer "medallion services" if you have been mailed a form to prove your identity to some "big time" financial institution like Franklin Templeton. But for this issue, there was an easy work-around. They still get 5 stars.

When I arrive I'm told to come back in 3 hours. Opening a savings account takes about 20 minutes max. The facility is completely empty 3 personal bankers present. I was told to come back in 3 hours to open an account. I will not be visiting this location again. The facility is very clean and staff seemed friendly other than their unwillingness to help me while I'm in the facility. I just don't understand why I would need to come back in 3 hours to open an account.

This is the branch of Guardian Credit Union (GCU) that I go to for my day-to-day needs. One nice…read morebenefit of my using this small branch is that not only do I know the staff, but the staff knows me. Heck, the staff even knows the name of my dog, when he comes along. I've already left a glowing Yelp review for the main GCU office (in Oak Creek), but here's a summary: I've been a member for 14 years, I had a car loan through GCU, and GCU staff have gone out of their way to help me deal with some oddball "cash flow" issues. When I was tasked with filling out a **very** perplexing tax return (not your typical "1040") for an elderly relative, GCU provided prompt expert assistance at a fair price. One additional item that was not in that other review: In comparison to some other bank and credit union websites that I have used, the GCU website is particularly easy to use. It lets me do a great job of managing my checkbook, monitoring my credit card expenses, and paying bills. And, it supports "Two Factor Authentication" log-in without being a nagging burden. What more could you ask for?
