Stephen responded quickly and professionally to our inquiry, quoted a reasonable price - which fell in the middle of two other quotes. He and his crew went above and beyond expectations, including leveling off the sides with topsoil and patching up parts of another pathway. We were fully expecting to have to repair our electric dog fence upon completion, but they worked very carefully to preserve it - and took good care with our landscaping. He showed up when he said he would and finished when he said he would. We have gotten a lot of compliments from neighbors.

It is hard to find a good brick mason: someone who understands the physics of how brick and mortar…read moreworks. I know just enough about it to understand how it can all go wrong, and I've felt taken advantage of by contractors before, and so when I got to the point where I felt I could no longer tolerate the deterioration I was observing in my garage, I went to look for a mason. I asked around a lot. The boutique guys, preservationists, and artisans mostly didn't get back to me. One failed to inspire confidence. Another guy stood me up. Another wouldn't go into the city. One never got me a quote. Another guy was very nice and knowledgeable but quoted me a price so high that it had me looking at DIYing it. The search was not pleasant. Brick brothers was different. Stephen understood my concerns about the materials and the work that was needed, he showed an understanding of the principles of brick and mortar masonry on par with the fancier guys, and he quoted me a price I could actually afford. My only critique would be that the written quote lacked detail, but we adequately covered the scope of work verbally. It took two Saturdays, and I'd rough guess 48 man-hours. I'm so glad I didn't have to go the DIY route. Now the way brick goes it's probably at least 5 years before one can be certain that the work is right, but based on my conversations with Stephen and my own observations of his work, I'm confident that I'll see no spalling on the repaired areas. And having seen a few rains since the work was done, I can already report that I'm no longer seeing water infiltration in the repaired areas. So for brick repair needs, Stephen of Brick Brothers hits that rare intersection of competence and price which makes his work a great value. I would absolutely recommend him for any brick masonry needs.

They did the demolition and then it took weeks to get them to remove the hazardous debris. They finally removed the debris and we proceeded to move forward with phase 2, the acquisition of materials. After payment no materials and after many calls, no response. The GM, Chris Fischer, with whom we worked with on the scope of work and estimates, told us he no longer works for the company. We contacted MD and their license is suspended, they do not occupy space at the address given, and we are moving forward with a formal complaint and lawsuit. Save yourself the loss and headache.

Since then, over a month has passed with no work done and nearly no communication. We were dealing with Jack, the owner, who initially responded; but after taking our deposit, he stopped answering our calls completely. We tried following up multiple times with no luck. Eventually, we had our admin office call on our behalf, and they actually picked up, gave a date to be on-site, and then, again, didn't show up. After that, they started ignoring our admin's calls too. Then on October 1, a random person called us saying someone would be at the site on October 2 or 3. When we pushed back, saying this was the third time we were promised a date, the caller admitted they had no idea about our project; they were just told to call and say someone would show up. Unsurprisingly, no one came, and since then, we've been completely ghosted again. We now have no choice but to hire a different company, which is delaying our own business operations and impacting our clients. After checking Yelp, we discovered this company has done the same thing to others, taking deposits and not following through. We feel scammed and are demanding a full refund of our $4,500 deposit. This is highly unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. Avoid East Coast Concrete at all costs.

Terrible!! Do Not Hire!!! I cannot give a review on his work since he failed to do any. He…read morecontacted us about two weeks before the contract date to do the work to ask if it was still a "go" on the day we had chosen and all I could say is, as we get closer I would keep an eye on the weather since I have to order the Sod on a Thursday to have it that Saturday for him to install. He agreed in an email stating May 7, (Good morning. That's a very sound approach on your part--so this will be the plan.) I had not herd from Jesus since May 7th, 26 and it was now Thursday 14th. I wanted to speak to him prior to placing the sod order to make sure he was still on board doing it Saturday. I sent emails and called his cell and he did not return my emails or voice messages. That seemed very odd. I tried blocking my number and as I recall he asked who I was and I said, it is me and what is going on and I need to order the sod. He than told me it was still on but he had to do something but he will call me back in a minute. He never called me back. I spoke with my wife at her work and told her he is not returning my call and told he to try calling using her work phone. I received an email from her saying he called her back but again he called and did not recognize her number at work. I told her, he is avoiding our calls and he only called her because he did not know who called from that number. He told her he will call me but never did. I than tried calling him again and used my cell since I never gave that number to him before. He did not answer my call but he did call it since he did not know it was my phone. Based on what he said to me at first, he had no idea it was me until I told him again this is Glenn. That changed his attitude fast and again he said he was working on my job but had been sick but said he has a friend he is getting to do my job and he will call me with the details. Never called back. I can say I never seen a man lie as much as he did that day. If I had ordered the "sod that day, it would have cost me $1200.00 because I had no one to install it and it will die in three days once cut into sod. He drew up the contract and in wrote each item he was doing from removing the grass and add a small amount of top soil and install the sod and remove the trash if any. Most of the grass has been removed already. If he does this on a landscaping job, I would never recommend him to do any work. We waited three weeks for him to do this job because he told us he could not do it any sooner. He knew if I had ordered the Sod, as expected, I would have lost over $1200.00 plus. No doubt he just doesn't care. Now back to getting more quotes. His company is AJ Concrete & Landscaping LLC and his name is Jesus E Gonzalez Martinez and address 6517 Vert Drive Elkiridge MD 21075
