When Bo-Ty Florist closed, we moved our 35 years of service with Bo-Ty to Walker. It was a nightmare. Accounting records were never correct, arrangements were produced without request, seasonal grave decor was juvenile. This caused a lot of discord in the family who requested floral service. In our 4th year of angst with Walker, florals were not even delivered. You will need nerves of steel to deal with Walker and it requires a LOT of oversight. I will never use them again. Bo-Ty? More like Boo-Ty.. In my opinion, this place is worse than your other W-S options. Take your money to a florist that can at least deliver in a remotely timely fashion and not act blasé, dropping a general disclaimer about not guaranteeing delivery times. If you can't get your orders out in an organized fashion to accommodate reasonable requests accompanied by a good tip, don't take the orders offer to refund the tip. Otherwise, your customers are wasting their money. As for me, I won't be wasting mine here again. Stick to weddings and not delivery orders. read more

I spent 45 minutes on the phone ordering balloons for my daughter's birthday. Spent $350! Confirmed delivery for a specific day and a 4-5 hour window (already a long time but it's the day before Valentine's day and I'm sure they would be busy). They then called me back AFTER TAKING MY MONEY to say they cannot guarantee delivery on that day at all, and the delivery window the day before was something like 7 am until 7 pm? Somehow they think everyone sits home waiting for 12 hours to get a balloon delivery, and on the wrong day? They now have my $350 and I have to work with my credit card to get the transaction reversed. Absolutely absurd. You cannot be a business that delivers if you cannot manage your deliveries. Of course after the fact I went to Yelp (to write this review and protect others) and saw the poor reviews. Shame on me for not checking Yelp first. This business needs to get its act together before taking more people's money, or folks should stay away unless they don't care about actually getting the product they order! read more

George K Walker was responsible for my wedding flowers. We did in person designs and I took pictures for reference. Covid hit and the wedding date got pushed from April to August. The flowers were delivered and I seriously thought I received someone else's order. We based our wedding around Duke Blue and they had one flower that sold me on the entire arrangement. This flower was no where to be found in the flowers I received, nothing looked as it should have. My flowers were pink and white with some purple. I was told my blue spray roses weren't available due to Covid, but they never called me to ask if I wanted to change it. I've tried for five weeks to resolve this issue. We came to an agreement two weeks ago on receiving some of my money back, I'm continuously told the check is going out or I should have something by Friday. read more

I love this place! They've done hundreds of flowers for me over the years. But my recent experience was less than stellar. I came in to get a special bouquet for my son's girlfriend. When I entered, Denise approached me and asked to help. I told her what I wanted and she showed me what you had in the refrigerator, which was $24.99/dozen. So I asked about doing something else, since I didn't quite like the colors available. Apparently, she didn't like the fact that I wanted something else instead of the special and she completely left me alone, ignored me, and pretended to help someone else. It was crystal clear and another employee noticed as well. I saw Lexi and said "hello" and told her what I wanted. She was working on a project that I could see but at least she was willing to hear what I wanted, to see if she could help. Apparently, she didn't have time so she went back to her project. I looked around for things and when I had a question, I approached the area where Denise & Lexi were just talking up a storm. I'm standing RIGHT in their face and was totally ignored. Lexi was actually wrapping roses and working while Denise was doing absolutely nothing. But neither stopped talking about their personal business to answer my question, in which it was clear I needed assistance. So I walked away. A customer came into the store and Denise immediately went to her and asked to help her. She stopped her conversation with Lexi for the other customer but couldn't stop for me. I have never been treated so badly by George K/Bo-Ty in my life! I was extremely upset and felt discriminated against. And it was so obvious. Listen, I am a physician, making six figures, and I can afford anything in this floral shop that I'd like to purchase. That wasn't the problem. I said that to say that the way Denise told me how much each rose would cost separately was put in such a way as if I couldn't afford it and it would be too expensive for me. I didn't appreciate that. I asked a question and all she had to do was tell me. Period. Not put in an assuming way that I couldn't afford. Maybe it was the way I looked and what I had on. The other customer had on a nice dress. Who knows. But you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. In any case, I was very much disrespected by Denise & Lexi and I was going to leave. Then a really nice lady named Katrina asked if she could help me. She took her time to assess my needs and got exactly what I wanted and was very kind to me. The picture is what I got. It's not the best wrapped and the bow doesn't match, but her customer service made all the difference in my decision to purchase. I had to re-wrap the flowers with a better looking ribbon, however, Katrina did make me feel as if my money mattered. This experience opened my eyes to what they look for and how they treat certain people. It might be a while for me to solicit their business in the future or refer this establishment. All I can say is to treat every customer with respect and at least act as if you want them to purchase something. Completely ignoring and making someone feel terrible is not the answer at all. I could have purchased way more but didn't. Do better Bo-Ty! Hire better people! Hire people who want to assist everyone and not a select few. My money was just as green as the next persons and my time was just as valuable. Just because I wanted to design my own bouquet instead of purchasing one that was already available doesn't make me a difficult customer. It's a flower shop! I've been a customer of Bo-Ty for many years and had come to depend on them for my special occasion deliveries, but due to the unexpected merger I was in the position of having to "try on" George K Walker this Valentine's Day. One try and they've lost me as a customer. Despite my pleas to prioritize delivery as the flowers were going to a schoolteacher, delivery was not made to the school until 5pm. She was already home and had to go back to school to retrieve her flowers. When I called to ask what happened regarding the special instructions agreed upon during the purchase transaction, the clerk was unapologetic and simply reminded me of the policy that delivery times could not be guaranteed on Valentine's Day, as if I were expecting them to be delivered at 9am sharp. I was told good luck finding a florist that could guarantee anything close to an on-time Valentine's Day delivery. Update: Half the flowers are dying four days later. Absolutely not worth the $117 I paid for 2 dozen tulips. read more

Walked in today and was assisted by three very attentive ladies who helped me acquire the flower I needed. Today is Mother's Day and 7 of my 12 roses delivered yesterday are wilting. This is the second year that my daughter has ordered flowers from here and they die within 3-4 days. AWESOME from start to finish! I live in Virginia, so I'm totally unfamiliar with florists in Winston-Salem NC. So I called one of our facilities in the area and requested a recommendation for a florist. The receptionist went on and on about how wonderful George K Walker florist is. She even went so far as to give me the phone number. She complimented their work so much and recommended them so highly that I didn't hesitate to give them a call. After my first conversation with Clarence, I understood why she had no reservations about referring me to them. He was professional, polite and took personal interest in my order to insure that my arrangement would touch the heart of its recipient. He took the time to research containers with me and made suggestions. He even sent me a picture of the finished product! They were beautiful. Without my asking, I received a confirmation of the delivery as well as a receipt showing all the details of my order---including the card message. **I got a call for GK Walker Florist - apologized and sending another arrangement plus chocolates. The caller was very kind and did not wish any customer unhappy with a purchase. We have an ill dog and our vets have been so kind wanted to do something for them. I ordered on line - by photo - and added a $20.00 box of chocolates. The next morning I called to see if they could make the arrangement shown (all carnations) and was told they could. I then asked that they not substitute roses for any reason (roses do not hold up) and again was told no problem. We took our dog in today and I was so disappointed in the arrangement and they added roses! We were charged for the chocolates but Winston Vet did not get the chocolates either. I give them no stars along with 1800 flowers!! I will NEVER again order flowers from them. I spent a great deal of money for a LARGE arrangement for mother's day based on the photos shown on the 1800 flowers webpage who hired this company to arrange and deliver my mother flowers. What was delivered was three to five flowers surrounded by filler material and DIRTY water! I was disgusted and appalled! It was delivered to her work and I was embarrassed that all of her co-workers had to see it! I called 1800 flowers back and they assured me that they would correct this and it would be re-delivered. When the second bouquet was delivered she still only received a small to medium sized bouquet that was STILL MISSING FLOWERS!! I am giving this florist NO STARS,! I received a flower arrangement for my birthday 9/11, being a sensitive day I was thrilled! I did notice the delivery person was rude, and the arrangement had Dirty water. Well I figured it was made in the morning and it was delivered at 3pm so I changed the water, as the next 48 hrs or so the arrangement looked awful, with the pasting of friends and relatives, that week, I didn't pay much attention to the flowers, but by Saturday they looked HORRIBLE. Sadden because whoever sends flowers no matter how much they are they paid for FRESH FLOWERS, and this company stands by a 48hr policy which means after 2 days ofarrival, if they should die, NOT OUR PROBLEM. I decided to call and speak with someone representing the FTD18 yr relationship well know in Winston Salem Florist, and spoke to STAN, I explained the above information and he said well we have a 48hr policy, I said I understand that but with the passing of my mother, friend and relatives, I notice after the 48hrs how bad they look and wanted a replacement. This was always the "go to" florist when I grew up in Winston-Salem and I have used Walker's in the past to send flowers to my mother. I found an arrangement on the website and called to order it on May 10 for delivery on May 11. I was sent a picture (greatly appreciated) of the actual one that would be delivered and was so disappointed that I was on the phone at 7:35 a.m. on the 11th concerning the difference in what was going out vs the one on the website and listed my concerns. I was told that there would be corrections made and I would get a phone call. I did not get a call and my brother (who came to visit my mother) took a picture of the flowers and sent it to me - no corrections seen. Worst experience ever on Valentine's Day. It doesn't matter if you place your order in advance for this important holiday. Placed my order well in advance of Valentine's Day for flower to be delivered to my fiancé. We work at the same establishment and around 430 I was getting nervous. I called and talked with someone who was asking me questions and then hung up on me. I called back and talked to another person. They asked me my order number and I read it straight off of my email receipt and she informed me that their order numbers do not start with those digits. I told her my name and that the flowers had to be delivered by 5 when my fiancé gets off work. She said to call back at 5 if they were not delivered. So at 5 I called back. By this time my love had left and I'm trying to call them with a busy signal. Times when I got through someone picked up the phone and hung it up. Finally after waiting until 540 I got someone on the phone who could not tell me where the flowers were and that I could come pick some up. NOPE... Walker website. The 2 star rating scared me, but since there were recent positive reviews I gave them a try and I'm happy I did! Those days passed and I called to see if they had made any progress with returning my money. The very rude lady on the phone then told me it was a 10 business day waiting period. Stay way from this place at all costs. I ordered a bouquet that was to be delivered to my wife and she never got it. I ordered and paid for the bouquet 2 days ago. Once I realized it was getting a little late in the afternoon I tried calling to inquire about the status of my delivery. After finally getting through, someone answered the phone I was immediately hung up on by an employee - this happened many times. I understand being busy and running into a problem or two, but let customers know what's going on. I provided my phone number when I placed my order and they didn't even bother to reach out to tell me it would be late or that there was an issue. What a terrible business. I have never had a more horrifying experience with a florist than I did yesterday. 2/14/2017 trying to send someone who I am having my very first Valentine's with something special and I placed my order 2/3/2017, well in advance. Was told my order would be delivered between 9 am and 5 pm because it was going to a business. My delivery never showed, I was told 2/15 that the order showed up at 7 pm and was refused. I had also made three phone calls to the florist on the afternoon of the 14th and was told it would be delivered before five. What a great way to celebrate your first Valentines with someone. After I repeatedly call that evening and being hung up on several times, Stan finally told me that it would be redelivered on the 15th, what's the point, at no charge. I call the morning of the 15th and was told it would be delivered. You would think that since they messed it up the day before they would make it a priority to make this delivery. Of course I had to tell the person that was receiving the order it was coming and at 11 am still no delivery. I called again and was told it was out for delivery and would be there soon. Well, again they couldn't get it there. If the person is not in the building then the delivery is refused and the person receiving the order was out of the office in the afternoon. I called back again and explained what happened and I said just forget it, cancel the order and all they could say was "Okay". Great customer service and on of the most important days of the year and you mess it up two days in a row. I was told that the florist wanted to take 700 deliveries for the 14th, I think that was a bit much since you can't get it all delivered in a timely fashion.
