Boar and Buffalo definitely is a local spot. Very unassuming from the outside, but it is huge. There are 4 large rooms with different things going on. Grown and sway lounge in the back, faming area (pool, dart jumbo jenga), dance area with a VIP, bar top area. Definitely a late evening/night spot to have fun. I felt comfortable exploring, but definitely preferred the back lounge. More intimate. Bartenders were nice and informative. She kept checking on us when we moved areas. Three days ago I had my first memory at Boar and Buffalo, and I knew I would be back. Today was my opportunity. The service is amazing, 10 stars. Aleeyah and Cici are excellent at their craft and the vibe is so welcoming. We arrived at the 11th inning of The Mets, (they won)! Cici turned to ask if there was something in particular we wanted on the TV. These ladies are attentive, friendly and can mix a great cocktail. Our experience was once again top notch. We stopped by here after dinner to check it put. It's super small...behind another bar. It's very dimly lit w/ a lounge vibe. We each had a drink. I had an Espresso Old Fashioned ...which was great. Two of my favorite drinks combined! My husband had a Stawberry Fields. He thought it was a bit sweet, but still drank it. This would be a great date night spot. This small little bar was suggested to us as a speakeasy that has no signage on the door (behind/ connected to Bar 23fifty). It was completely dark outside, and as we opened the door, we were hit by the loud rock music blasting out of the small space. The bar was nicely decorated, be it a little sparce. I'm not sure why the music was on so loud; there were only about 12 patrons seated around inside the spot. I had a chopped salad (not chopped) and was not asked what dressing I wanted - vinagrette on the side. Instead, I got ranch (too much) drizzled over the top. We also had the Buffalo cauliflower. The flavor was full and bright, with the heat one would expect. However, the sauce had been soaked up into the fried breading, causing each piece to become limp and soggy. The bartendar (Unfortunately, did not catch his name) was attentive to all and was actually a magician. Our drinks were simple perfection. The presentation was beautiful, and the aromas & flavors were everything promised. Inexplicably, after an hour of rock blaring, it switched to dancy-pop. Too loud and too frenetic. There were only 4 of us here at this point. So why 3 stars? The whole experience was disjointed. The music, the decor, the food, the drinks, the bars ambiance. So, there you have it. She was super helpful in creating mocktail suggestions for my husband who doesn't drink. I had a strawberry fields and my friend had an old fashion. Prices are as expected. We did not eat. If you're going to have a craft bar, you need a decent cleaning company. The one word I'd use to describe the experience is "sticky". This spot is located in the far bacK corner of Danny's (right off of Curlew) - it's a much needed, and welcomed, concept in Palm Harbor! Pros: Fantastic and personalized service! Delicious and consistent drinks, especially the Peanut Butter Old Fashioned made with Screwball Whiskey! Appropriate background music (because there's nothing worse than listening to music that's too loud or too out there when you're visiting a speakeasy). Convenient location!! Stellar happy hour and daily specials ($6 Old Fashioned!) The food looks yummy also (didn't personally order so can't really comment though). Cons: Just wish the lights weren't so bright inside (would play in more to the speakeasy concept). This is a little speakeasy inspired place behind the main sports bar called Danny's. It will be a little hard to find at first since there only seems to be a sign for Danny's out front. They're both owned by the same owner but one allows smoking inside and one does not. There's a stark difference in atmosphere and price point between the two places so your point of entry will affect your first impressions. Danny's allows smoking inside the bar so if you're not a fan avoid entering through the front and first side door to get to the Boar and Buffalo. Go to the very end of the building and there should be a separate entrance right at the end to get into the speakeasy. When we went they didn't have a sign up so we entered through Danny's instead. Once inside the atmosphere is very elegant with swing music, barrel tables and chairs and a vast selection of bourbon. I got the Botanical gin cocktail and that was nice. I tried the sweet tea cocktail after that but it wasn't for me. Followed up with a gose. The hubs and company had some scotch and whiskey. The selection is very good so snobs will have a field day. Just note to ask how much a glass is beforehand as there's a huge markup. The hubs got charged $38 for a neat glass of Kilchoman Sanaig which retails for $63 a bottle at Luekens. Ask before hand so you're not blind sided. We got the steak and mushroom fries which were freaking delicious for bar food. Try this one out. They also have plenty of other selections including charcuterie. read more

At 1st look from the outside, a derelict outpost on the fringes with a non-descript entrance, located in the far corner behind an Irish sports bar. Stopped in Saturday night and sat in the snug seats they have built. Nice addition. Super comfy. Wait staff was friendly and mixed a good drink. All draught beer is up front which is ok but a pain. You can't pay for those beer here you must pay up front. I am guessing because it is technically 2 separate businesses. I would suggest having the staff place the order and bring it to you. Get the credit card machines that can be carried by the staff so the customer can pay from their seat. The bathroom had one issue where the toilet paper dispenser had fallen off the wall and was laying on the floor. Everything else was perfect. Most people were wearing masks. We do love the craft cocktails they make here. As long as it stays non smoking and clean we will continue to patron them. read more

Pulled up on a Friday at 8pm. Place almost looked empty with just a few cars around. Was very happy to find it was open when we opened the door. 3 people at bar and one other gentleman at end. Bar tender clearly saw us come in. Another couple came in after us and sat at the barrel tables. Literally sat in the chairs for 15 minutes while the bartender made 3 drinks for the 3 at the bar. The couple at the barrel table finally went up to bar to order. Not kidding you, took bartender another 10 minutes to make 2 drinks while talking the whole time. Another 2 people came in in meantime and never got waited on. We've been here before and know they serve you at the tables. We ended up leaving after sitting watching the cluster show go on for 30 minutes. Who staffs a bar on a Friday night at 8pm with 1 bartender. Clearly they don't want the business. Very cool place! Went last night as a date night, not knowing what to expect and we had an awesome time. They have your typical bar menu, but it actually tastes good The bartender was friendly and he made awesome cocktails. One of their signature cocktails is a memorable Hellfire smoked old fashioned and it was delicious with a little heat. The vibe itself is a speakeasy type place and you don't have to yell over loud music because the only music I heard was coming from Danny's across the way. There's no sign out front so it's literally a hidden gem, but I doubt it will stay hidden for long. Saw this place on Yelp and wasn't sure about how it could be behind good ole Danny's! You walk in the back door and it's like a surprise. Okay so we went back this evening with a a small group of 6, after our first experience which was very good and with high hopes. Needless to say it was not a good evening at all. First off the bartender a dude with dreadlocks had a very filthy mouth for being behind the bar and spent more time trying to convince people to order drinks in which were their signature drinks and he had no idea what was in them and said "it been a long time since he made one of those". Then to find out the kitchen was not operational at all....so on a Friday night advertising food and drinks but absolutely no food. The bartender even mentioned ordering a pizza?
