    After- how cute?!

SO. MUCH. FUN! My best friend and I were looking for something different to do and this couldn't have been a better option. You'll sign up and pick your board online so they have it ready when you arrive. They have endless options to choose from. The studio itself is filled with signs that have been made which gave me inspiration for what stain/colors I wanted to paint my board. Our class had 18 people (tables of 6) and everyone seemed like they had a great time. Michelle, our instructor, was super friendly and so helpful! She made sure everyone was having a great time and always kept our drinks full. They offer unlimited complimentary water and soft drinks. If you want beer or wine the first round is on them and past that it's $2/glass. I'm not usually good at crafting or anything related to that but with the help of the employees at B&B it's hard to mess up your project. I thought I had messed mine up and they were quick to help me fix it! They often off coupon codes and the signs you make are worth hanging up so in my opinion the price is worth it. We used a coupon code so our class was $60/person. Follow them on FB and IG to read about their specials and upcoming events! I look forward to going back in the near future!

We have made a few projects at this location in Brownsburg and have had a great time each time. You simply register online and choose your project so that its ready and waiting for you when you arrive on project day. There are so many things to choose from. A good tip is to definitely follow them on Facebook and IG so that you can keep updated on workshops happening and current promos, giveaways, and specials. The studio is pretty spacious with plenty of space and plenty of inspiration all around. The instructors do a great job giving instruction and assisting if needed. With Covid, you are required to wear a mask and pull it down only when taking a sip of your drink. Tables are spaced out pretty well to allow for social distancing. You can also bring your own wine to sip on. Which I personally love! I can't wait to come back and make beautiful projects to display in my home!

This was definitely a fun experience to do with a few ladies from work. The whole experience was really enjoyable and pretty easy. Prior to the event, when you sign up for the class, you review all of the projects you can make and choose it when you sign up. If you are going with a larger group and want to make sure you're sitting with each other, be sure to identify that at sign up. The instructor was very easy to follow. They had a nice selection of paint colors and stains. I think the hardest part was getting some of the more complicated designs pulled off of the (unsure of technical language) backing and then making sure it was centered on the piece of wood. The foam paintbrushes were also a little dingy, so it was a little difficult to get the final paint on there, but made out just fine using the side of the brush. The first round of drinks are complimentary. All others after that are $2.00. Overall, I really enjoyed this experience! I do agree with one of the other reviewers that $65 is a bit much for this project and that, too, is why I am giving it 4 stars.

First step will be to stain the pieces of your project, then put them together.

What a fun place! Select an available class for you and your friends (or fly solo), then decide which one of the almost innumerable projects you want to complete. Options vary in size and almost all of them can be personalized in some way--the possibilities are truly endless. You'll select your stain, paint color, and add lots of personal touches by distressing the wood, assembling the pieces (if applicable, and laying out your stencil. Dress comfortably; keeping in mind you'll be working with stain, paint and wax. At the end of class, you will leave with a ready to use/hang custom project that you can be so proud of! I'm already looking forward to going back again!

ArtMix is an Indianapolis-based non-profit organization that has been in existence since I was a kid in school, though it began life as Very Special Arts. They have four core programs, a variety of special projects, and quite a few opportunities to support them ranging from visiting their art gallery to joining them for First Fridays and others. As they note on their website, in the early days of public education for those with disabilities it was uncommon for us to be integrated into regular classrooms. An organization like this was used to fill in that gap. While I was often discouraged from creativity, this was an organization that encouraged it. The fact that I'm now a published writer, film critic, producer, and occasional actor is proof positive of how positive their influence can be. It should be noted that shopping in their gallery is by appointment only. Like a lot of non-profits, they have a small staff. The core programs for ArtMix include urban artisans, entrepreneur artisans, community classes, and artists-in-residence. In terms of accessibility, despite being in a challenging building they do well with ramps at the back entrance (and free parking in the back lot). The building itself is locked - there's a call box that you'll use (again, they request appointments). First Friday events are cool, the gallery is wonderful (and does support artists with disabilities. Yay.). I'm very pleased with this organization. It's only gotten better over the years. While I'm no longer that student sitting in a classroom, ArtMix reaches out even more these days and is truly a community organization. If you've never checked them out, I definitely recommend it.
