Unique option for an afternoon or evening out, but reservations required so stencils can be custom cut the day before. Many different stain and paint options to make each project uniquely yours. Attended as part of a bachelorette party, and the hosts had excellent pacing, and were helpful with many of the steps of the projects. Assisted with peeling stencils, advising on colors, techniques etc. You may get a little messy, but this reviewer came away with just a bit of stain around the wrists that was easily washed off. Bring your own food and drink to enjoy while crafting.

First of all, I enjoyed my experience. I had a great time creating something with my loved ones. With that being said, it seemed the staff was rushing us through the entire process. Mainly the individual leading the session. She seemed annoyed that we were taking our time to ensure we were happy with our creations. There were approximately 25 people there. I was the only male In the session, and I was treated differently because of it. Any questions I asked were answered with attitude, or the leader would just grab my project and start doing the next step without explaining my question. Note, we were ahead of their time schedule the entire session, yet they continued to rush us through. I've been told "it all depends on who runs your class" in terms of the experience. Well to the owners of this wonderful facility: it shouldn't have to come down to which staff member is leading the class.

    Do they have open studio?

I do not believe so. I think the only way is to pick one of their events since they print the stencils out ahead of time and get the materials ready.

It's a missed opportunity to not have a professional interior decorator come in there and pick some finishes that can't be found in Home Depot. It was definitely not selected by a professional (sorry, I'm in the industry and these things stand out). This place has such potential because the windows and light of this venue can't be beat. The landscaping and area outside are just stunning. There were a few issues I had with this place, which is why I went elsewhere. Adam was very secretive about the food vendors. My cousin is a professional event planner who also spoke with Adam (in her own course of doing business) and said the pitch Greystone Fields gives is not the norm. I didn't know it was odd until afterwards. Potential caterers are not supposed to be a secret. It was pitched like this was all inclusive, but it's no different than any other place with a competent event coordinator. They coordinate the vendors. I'm glad we kept looking. I think someone could have a perfectly nice, traditional wedding reception here and save themselves a lot of aggravation in planning.

The trail is great for beginners or if you just want a quick jog. There are several benches you can sit down on along the way, plus a tree stump in the woodsy part that you can also sit on to rest. It's a very well maintained trail that smells like freshly cut wood chips, and has a nice variety of terrain. I didn't see any dog poop (it's a no-dog park) and no litter at all, which the multiple trash cans around the loop definitely help with. While a good portion of the trail has the wood chips, some areas could use a bit more. After rain, a few spots can get muddy and it can get a little marshy in the grassy part where there is no trail. The outer loop is about 1.2 miles, and there are several spots where the trail branches off. There's a more "woody" section and a more "grassland" section, which keeps it interesting. It's also not hard to find parking at the church across the street. There's a lot of birds chirping and tons of squirrels and bunnies, and every once in a while you'll spot deer. Inside the barn fence there are lambs and sometimes horses, which is a nice touch. Also kind of cool is that there are wild chive plants around this trail which is common in the Pittsburgh area, and you'll find some growing in the park if you know what to look for.

The old house, and farm are really special, and I am so glad that the Upper St. Clair Historical Society maintains these buildings and property so we can occasionally get to visit and see how things used to be. Today they had all kinds of activities going on, from hayrides, petting zoo, sheep shearing, cow milking, yarn spinning, beekeeping, and of course tours of the historic house, barn and outbuildings, all of which are like a museum. This place was well worth the price of admission . . . FREE, but the suggested donation was $5 per person.
