I grew up in Pittsburgh, but have lived out of state for the part 20 years. Most of my family is in Pittsburgh. I can not say enough positive, amazing things about this florist and the man who runs it. He was kind, gracious, and went above and beyond. You see, I called him thinking he was the florist who had made an arrangement for my father-in-law. The "banner" that was to go across the spray was missing. After spending a few minutes on the phone with him, we determined he wasn't the florist but he wanted to make it right for me as the funeral was only a couple hours away. He apologized for my loss, offered to drive the banner across the road to the funeral home, and make the arrangement look nice with the banner for me. (Even going as far as to ask what banner color I would like, no charge) The world needs more people just like this. It was not his mistake to fix... but he wanted to help and apologized multiple times for my loss. Pretty disappointed in my first and last visit to this store. Went in from out of town for their Christmas Passport Event which my friend had raved about. Her email said that it started at noon. At approximately 20 after 12, we gave up -- not near ready yet and not even trying to accommodate customers. I put down the small items I was buying and never even had a chance to pick up the larger , more expensive ones. Too bad. There were some items I would have purchased . We have used Gerard Boeh Flowers for the past 8 years for corporate black-tie fundraisers and events and have been extremely happy. The flowers are always delivered on time and in perfect condition. They are so creative. I just give them the linen colors and let them design. We are amazed every year at the unique and beautiful designs. Our daughter used Gerard Boeh for her wedding. I ordered a tuscany flower arrangement quoted $52.99 for the arrangement $9.99 for delivery 5.49 for tax, when I got my credit card I was charged $88.42. When I called and talked to Pat, she said it was my fault, because I purxhased online. I did not look anything like the photo online much smller than what was advertised. Really! Paid over $100, this plant looked like it was sitting in someone's house and not maintained. I will never use this florist again. I contacted the florist and they said "sorry", nothing else. I ordered my sister, Helen, flowers for her birthday and spent over $100.00 for a "beautiful" arrangement. The next day after they were delivered, the petals began to fall and most of the flowers were dead! My sister called and told the lady there about the arrangement and asked for a new arrangement. My sister said woman she spoke with was not very cooperative, but eventually she was given a new arrangement. The first arrangement wasn't even close to what I ordered either. I cannot caution anyone enough to look elsewhere for a florist. Sam's club would be better, cheaper and more dependable. All of my wedding vendors were amazing except for Gerard Boeh. Although his staff is very nice and helpful, the owner and face of the company is terrible. The Tuesday before my Saturday wedding he called and we went through the order and timeframe for delivery. All flowers were to be at the hotel at 3:00 on the big day as the wedding was at 5:30. The centerpieces (all of which had one less flower than we paid for) were delivered at noon, no bouquets or boutonnieres. No big deal. 3:45 no flowers. Call the flower shop, its closed. 4:00 p.m. no flowers, email Gerry and received a response "be there in 5 minutes". 20 minutes later calls the hotel to inform the wedding coordinator that he is at the church but its not open. HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AT THE HOTEL. Finally arrives at 4:45 so we rush around pinning 9 boutonnieres on rushing grooms. I never received an apology or a follow up call. Also, you pay more than the average florist for extremely small bouquets. Brides are busy enough without having to rush around to locate your own florist on your wedding day because he is unprepared. read more
