It was more convenient than waiting in line at the mountain to rent, as they delivered the skis directly to my hotel at the time of my choosing. They were very flexible and easy! I rented for 2 days, and it turned out that my son got hurt so we needed to skip the 2nd day and instead ski the 3rd day. Black tie was great -- giving me a free comp skip day and allowing us to keep the skis for an additional day at no additional charge! Net it was cheaper and more convenient to rent with black tie instead of on the mountain. Thanks black tie! We'll definitely rent again.

Got on the bike and my friends laughed and said a 6 foot tall woman should not have been fitted w a small size bike. Luckily my daughter is 5' 6" so she could ride it and I just jacked her seat up to the max. When I returned the bike and told the guy that I couldn't use the bike because it was so small he said "oh" and walked away.

Awful experience! Old musty shop…read more I went in for cycling orthotics. 1. The orthotic mold process was probably unhygenic . You stick your feet into sand that may or may not have been changed In months. 2. The orthotic tech was rude , aggressive and just an awful person to work with. 3. The orthotics were large clunky and in no way did they work in Cycling shoes. 4. I asked if I could return them for a partial refund . The owner never returned my calls. I tried 6 times and left messages with store employees One store employee said that I signed something that would prevent me from any kind of refund. I tried many times to see what could be worked out . I lost $485.00 and am shocked that this store is still in business . This is an outdated mean spirited business

Instead of selling me a new head set, the owner suggested re-tappining it. One mechanic stopped what he was doing and dug out his tap set and cleaned it up perfectly. The threads were great but the bolt holding it in was too short...both mechanics started tearing the shop apart looking for the longer bolts that fit it. They find the package of extra bolts and just give it to me. This would have been great service if I'd bought my bike there, but its incredible service considering I'm just a random guy coming thru town who can't ride his bike until I get it fixed. For me, it's this place, a terrific combination of high quality merchandise and exceptional customer service. Love the exterior, a beautiful entry way with lavender and gorgeous plants, and their you enter into an outstanding store with a superb layout, along with just about anything you would like in outdoor apparel and gear. It really rocks. The highlight is the quality of the customer service, as their staff is friendly, experienced, and so knowledgeable. They interact so well, and aren't pushy like so many stores. Justin and DJ spent the time going through the basics for the novices while my husband went ahead and started. All equipment and necessary clothing were provided and made the experience so relaxing. I hate being cold so while possible personally I can't imagine standing in the river without the waterproof waders and shoes/booties. Both Justin and DJ were full of helpful tips. I think we all left feeling successful at the end of our 1/2 day excursion and all are looking forward to the next time we can go.

A shout out to Bruce at Hailey Sturtevants who went beyond the call of duty in repairing our cross…read morecountry ski boot today. The power strap tightening bracket broke rendering the boot useless, and it is the only boot my wife has ever skied on that hasn't left her with blisters. The repair required a plastioectomy of the left flange followed by a beautifully constructed anterior "strapostomy" replacing the original that had been amputated. Bruce supplied a loaner boot so we didn't miss the best day this year on the trails at Quigley canyon, and tomorrow we will be back to Prairie Creek with a boot stronger than the original! Thank you Bruce. Thank you Sturtevants. You always seem to be there when we need you. Your rentals are great, skis and bikes, and your service is top notch! While we haven't used you for base waxing, folks who have say they are pleased with how well you match wax to conditions. Your prices for xc ski waxes like Swix F4 and kick waxes often beat online sources,. Your staff offers very sound recommendations on kick zones and wax pockets for different conditions. It's a more laid back low pressure comfortable place to be than in some of the shops at the north end of the valley that cater mostly to tourists (not complaining, love the tourists, just different needs).
