I know a very special, very clever, very beautiful little lady (no, not me you charmers) who adores her school and proudly declares the name of it whenever she can! She looks forward to school every day and I have seen her progress both intellectually and socially. Gold Star.

I spent my…read morewhole secondary school years here and to be honest, despite it being frail and old I really enjoyed my time here. The school is an all boys Roman Catholic secondary school and has a great reputation in Bradford. There are boys from ages 11 to 18 here and around 1200 students attend the school. It's in a small village not far from Bradford city centre. The standard of education here has always been very high and remains so to this day. There's talk of the school merging with the girls catholic school located just down the road, hence the new buildings popping up around the school. The teachers on the whole were pretty good there. It's a real top place to go to school!
Fabulous school with great facilities!…read more There's a nursery, infant school and junior school with fantastic staff. from sports days, to choir, to painting- there is a huge range of creative aspects to the curriculum! As well as regular trips to the local swimming baths and other day trips such as the central library and Llandudno! I would wholeheartedly send my children there- if I had any! Have loved working here and will miss it when I'm gone- friendly and welcoming place to work!
I have removed my previous review here…read more There's no question the standard of teaching at Gateways is excellent in many areas, the 6th form in particular. The issue is that there are gaps in a lot of what the school does. My children attended Gateways but all came away with very negative feelings and vowed never to send their children here should the opportunity appear. All of them suffered bullying - an issue which wasn't uncommon - about which little was done. In one instance the school had full knowledge of what was going on and took little action towards the perpetrators. In addition to this should any criticism be directed towards any member of staff the school is quick to protect whoever it is. Some staff members behaved in poor fashion towards one of my children during an incident on a school trip but at a meeting with senior teachers to discuss this it was denied that any problem took place so no action was taken. After my children left I arranged to meet the head of the school governors to address the issues my children suffered. He appeared responsive to the issues but after our meeting and an email from me thanking him for his time I heard absolutely nothing. That was my last contact with the school. That's poor on any level. The headmistress at the time of writing was also very unresponsive to issues I raised during my children's time at Gateways. So I'm left with very mixed feelings concerning the school. On reflection I wouldn't have selected Gateways as there are many other good options in the area.

This school also has tyres for students to play on, near the grass area. It also has a girls changing rom and a boys changing room for the pe lessons. All the teachers their are very kind and good. The Head teacher organises regular get togethers for the children and parents to raise money for the school, they are always fun and our children really enjoy going and meeting up with their friends after school. It's always a great night for us parents too, with beer, wine (ahh), soft drinks and hot dogs whilst we play Bingo, or do raffles. The school is really on the up, the attitude towards the children has improved so much over the last couple of years and they've actually started to do fun things, it's like the school is based around the children now! Like I said, Ofsted and Warrington can write what they like, my children LOVE going into school now and I couldn't be more happy. I really hope more parents will write in their comments about this school, I know there are a lot of very content parents out on the playground and hopefully next time around there will be content Ofsted staff too!

It has also extended it's working day, offering many after school activities - such as netball, football, rounders, band, multi-games to name a few. There is even an aerobics lesson available before school on one day of the week. It has a school band and offers music lesson, indeed this is one of it's strengths, with the school doing well in local competitions. There is also a Playgroup which is open on the school grounds, which offers before and after school care. By the way, school dinners are healthy and taste great, a credit to the canteen staff.
