The social worker/ case manager was not efficient with discharge planning... discharging without proper equipments at home is an UNSAFE discharge!

The teams are incredibly thorough, compassionate, and accommodating, and it's clear that patient care is taken very seriously at every level. During stressful moments, the staff consistently took the time to explain things clearly, check in frequently, and ensure my mother was comfortable and well cared for. It genuinely feels like the "A team" works here. The coordination between departments and the overall attentiveness of the staff make a difficult experience much easier for patients and families. Security staff is incredibly rude, one guy in particular. I really hope he never has an emergency necessitating a rush to the ER with your loved one to be treated like he treated us for no reason. We don't want to be there. We need help. Sorry if we are bothering you. You should find a job not working with the public and definitely not in medical care. In early June, boyfriend passed out and fell at 1 am on a Saturday night. He must have hit his head, as he was disoriented, confused and had garbled speech. Thinking he was having a stroke, I called the paramedics, who arrived right away and rushed him to this ER. Over the course of several hours, they checked miscellaneous things, gave him fluids (as he was dehydrated), and finally checked him into the hospital around 5 am. The next day, they did a CT scan, found nothing and released him. Where they FAILED is that they did not schedule a follow up CT scan, which necessitated, in August, two months later, an emergency embolism procedure and bilateral subdural hematoma evacuation (brain bleed surgery) at the excellent Providence Little Company of Mary hospital in Torrance. In early August, boyfriend was having severe headaches, motor skills issues, and foggy thinking, so he came home early from work and we went to ER again at 2:30 pm (again having to deal with that absolute jerk of a security guard), where they ran a CT scan and MRI, and guess what? He had two brain bleeds (bilateral subdural hematomas) and needed to be transferred to a hospital with a neurology department, which took several hours. Absolutely ridiculous. When I dared to ask what was taking so long, I was snarkily told they were working on it, and that there were no available beds in LA with a neurology center, and they needed to find a hospital and transport to it, which took HOURS. He was not transported by ambulance to the hospital until 9:30 pm. As luck would have it, he was taken to Little Company of Mary, where he was scheduled for surgery first thing the next morning. I will be doing my research to find another ER near us. This place is terrible. The doctors and nurses do an okay job, but the amount of time taken to care for patients, especially for an emergency as in my boyfriend's case, is absolutely unacceptable.

Never even looked at or addressed most of them and when they finally called me after several people who showed up after me had gone and and gotten tests When I was finally called the person confirmed I was there for a "bug bite". I had previously need to Urgent Care and this exact ER after being advised by my Drs office due to a tick bite in June. After an appointment with my primary this morning I was sent with a written referral to the ER. 1) they never even looked at the drs notes. 2) the dr never asked about my symptoms 3) I explained my dr was concerned about meningitis's so they took a TON of blood and the. Did a spinal tap to test spinal fluid. After that procedure I was told I would need to stay flat on my back for two hours and would be discharged at 7:30. Then the room started filling up. Not just patients and staff but family and machines. As someone with neurological issues the amount of stimulation cases me to completely shut down. I was hyperventilating, sweaty and clammy, my head started pounding. I asked/begged to be moved someone where quiet (i was told the hospital was out of ear plugs) then when it was about time to be released they decided to do a brain MRI...my second one since June so I was a bit hesitant but was told it was necessary so I did it. The Dr who had been helping me had to go so she said another Dr would be by to discuss all the test results with me. He never showed. I had to ask four more times to leave and then my paperwork has a diagnosis of "headache"!'!! I didn't even come in with a headache nor was it a primary concern. I live with 5 migraines per week so I know a bad headache and I didn't even have one. The paperwork shows a complete lack of understanding as to why I was there and on top of that the ride and dismissive behavior and never getting the actual Fr to talk to me was mind blowing. I will never again trust this ER. HORRIBLE!!! As I left there were several other people in the halls screaming they just wanted to get out of that place. The "charge nurse" was by far the rudest with the most attitude and refused to listen to me and even though I asked for the Dr twice she didn't get one and made one minimal Change to my discharge paper. She showed a complete lack of empathy or understanding. I hope she finds a new profession soon. Cause she does not give a rats about patients.

This review is focused on the 2020 visit. In the past few months this year, I had used the video and in-person calls for health related issues. When scheduling a health call it was exactly as what you'd expect, quick, convenient, and the familiarity of having your doctor know details with all your chart information available. The in-person visit is actually really efficient. You go to the office and there's a table saying you'd need to wait, the staff come by and ask you Covid related questions, and then your whisked you're the room. You don't even need to wait in the lobby. All procedures are done in the room including blood draws. Of course, you go to the restroom still for urine samples, haha. Overall I like what they've done and had no issues whatsoever. If you're looking to change your primary doctor, you can't go wrong with Dr. Nik.

Unfortunately, I've had to visit this ER more times than I'd like, but I've consistently been treated with dignity, compassion, and the level of care my situation requires. At the time of this review, there is ongoing construction, but if you're coming to the ER, that's probably going to be the least of your concerns. The staff has always made a difficult experience a little easier, and I'm grateful for the care I've received. 4/5 stars.

I would especially like to recognize Mike from the MRI department. Despite what was clearly a very busy shift, Mike demonstrated extraordinary patience, kindness, and professionalism. He carefully explained every step of the process, helped reduce my anxiety, and treated me with dignity and respect throughout my visit. His calm and caring attitude made a tremendous difference during a very difficult time. I would also like to sincerely thank Rachael Anita Utech, PA-C, for her outstanding medical care. Her professionalism, attention to detail, medical knowledge, and compassionate approach were truly remarkable. It was immediately clear that she genuinely cared about her patients and was fully committed to providing the highest level of care. The nurses and the entire medical staff deserve special recognition as well. Due to my vein condition and thrombosis-related complications, obtaining IV access was particularly challenging. Nevertheless, the staff handled everything with exceptional skill, patience, confidence, and professionalism. Every member of the team worked together seamlessly and made me feel safe and cared for. Over the years, I have visited many medical facilities, but this experience was different. I did not feel like I was simply a patient in a hospital. I felt as though I was surrounded by people who genuinely cared about me as a person. I had a traumatic birth experience at UCLA Health…read more Teaching hospital: Dr. Brianne D. Romeroso, MD was texting on her phone when she entered my labor and delivery room. She didn't interact with me at all during labor. Only the resident doctor did and she was smugged. I asked for no resident doctors, but patients don't have a choice at the hospital. Dr. Romeroso only chatted with me right after my surgury. Rotating doctors: You may not know who will be there for you when you deliver your baby. NICU: This unit was excellent - care and staff. Billing: They will have non-medical staffs walk into your post partnum room to pay for the hospital services. Do not pay if you're using insurance. The claim should be processed by your insurance. If you pay while still at the hospital, you and the insurance could end up double paying for the service. They won't proactively inform you of the overpayment and credit you the amount.

I felt comfortable and supported throughout the entire process. The lactation experts Karen and Deborah were also amazing. The labor room we had was massive and although the post partum room was much smaller it was comfortable and worked perfect for everything we needed. Also, the location of the hospital is next to some amazing food places which is nice if guests want to pick up stuff to bring you (tartine and huckleberry are a quick walk away). Overall I am so thankful we chose UCLA for our birth I would give it a 15/10!

If you're thinking about sending your child or a…read moreloved one here especially to the Behavioral Health/Psychiatric Unit that is part of this hospital I strongly encourage you to look for another facility that will actually help them instead of making an already difficult situation even worse. This review is specifically about the psychiatric unit inside this hospital, where I was admitted because I was struggling with depression and anxiety. This was, without a doubt, the most terrifying experience of my life. Instead of receiving the support and care I desperately needed, I felt like I was placed in a unit with patients who had much more severe psychiatric conditions, which made me feel extremely unsafe. If my family hadn't advocated for me, I honestly believe I might not be here today. There were multiple times when my heart was racing uncontrollably. I repeatedly told the staff how serious it felt, but it took more than 30 minutes before anyone properly checked on me. I genuinely felt like I was in danger, and my concerns were ignored. One of the most disturbing moments of my stay was waking up because I felt wires being attached to me. When I opened my eyes, a male nurse was in my room laughing while my hospital gown was completely open, exposing my breasts. I was only wearing my underwear and had not been woken up or given the opportunity to cover myself first. I felt humiliated, extremely vulnerable, and like I had no control over my own body. I was admitted on a Friday, which meant I had to stay even longer because the psychiatrist didn't want to see me. When she finally came, she spent less than three minutes with me before making her assessment. Even though I was never aggressive, violent, or disruptive, I was kept there for another two to three days. I participated in every activity, followed every rule, and all I wanted was to be with my family. I have never been someone who causes problems or is a danger to others I was simply a young person going through an incredibly difficult time. One of the most frightening parts of my stay was feeling unsafe around other patients. Older male patients, including one who appeared to be around 60 years old, would come near me, and I experienced unwanted touching on my legs while I was asleep. I reported how unsafe I felt, but in my experience, nothing was done to adequately protect me. I felt dismissed, ignored, and like nobody believed what I was saying simply because I was there for depression and anxiety not because I was violent or dangerous. I am now 20 years old, and I have never attempted to harm myself again or hurt anyone else. Looking back, I truly believe what I experienced deserves accountability. My mother filed a complaint by phone regarding what we believed were serious instances of negligence, but as far as we know, nothing was ever done. No one seeking help for depression or anxiety should leave feeling more traumatized than when they arrived. I sincerely hope this hospital makes meaningful changes to the way patients in its psychiatric unit are treated so that no one else has to go through what I experienced. (My heart rate was over 150, and those 30+ minutes felt like they could have cost me my life.)
