I went to this boat store to return a pair of boots and was given an absolute hard time by the manager, Chris (if that's his name). He claimed the boots were "worn," which was simply not true. They were returned in the same condition I purchased them. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he argued with me back and forth for 10-20 minutes before finally processing the return. To top it off, he told me not to come back to the store. Ironically, I was planning on purchasing a pair of sunglasses and several other items while I was there, but after the way I was treated, I won't be spending another dollar there. The entire experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. Customer service should be respectful and straightforward, not confrontational. Because of how this was handled, I will be contacting corporate. I would not recommend this store based on my experience. read more

The worst experience of buying a boat in my lifetime. We purchased a cruiser and not only did we find out that Boat and Motor did not disclose the fact that the HVAC system on this brand new boat not provide adequate climate control in the Florida heat(the boat literally can not be used 6 months out of the year), they do not stand behind their warranty. Every issue is deemed to be a manufacturer issue and we were required to pay for the labor. To make matters worse, when their labor techs failed to complete the repair after being paid in full, they wanted to charge us a 2nd time claiming that it isn't their fault that the part manufacturer provided them with inadequate instructions on how to perform the repair. In summary, after the sale of this very expensive brand new boat, we were on our own and their service team is by far the worst I have ever encountered. read more

Very happy with our experience here. This is our 3rd boat. I was doing the leg work for my hubby who wanted to move from a 24 ft Yamaha jet boat into a 26.5 ft center console fishing boat. I got his wishlist and went to work. I made multiple calls, did some research on boat trader.com and the Internet then visited multiple showrooms. So just for the sake of being transparent, my overall rating is an average of the following: - Boat and Motor Super Store (*B&MSS) sales team - B&MSS's service department- Key West Co. B&MSS's sales team receives 4 stars. Those guys were helpful and made the process of purchasing my boat fairly painless and simple. However, let's be honest, a majority of companies will have this approach because they are trying to earn your business so while they probably deserve a 4.5 or 4.75 they get a 4 because in my mind the sales period isn't where the separation between companies comes into play. It's how they treat their customers after the fact. And that's where the scores plummet. B&MSS's service department receives 1.5 stars. Where to begin? Let's start with probably one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with in regard to returning your voice mails. Literally 95% of the time it was me reaching out to them to get an update even though basically every time they assured me they would follow-up with me for updates. I would even confirm while on the phone that they were going to call me back but it wouldn't happen. Furthermore, my last encounter with them dealt with cracks in the floor deck that stretched from bow to stern (this is also what I will be discussing under Key West's rating). I sent pictures the first of December of 2022 so they could send to Key West. Over a month passed, and nothing happened. Apparently, it is the slow/down time at Key West headquarters. Finally, after waiting until early March I get a response from B&MSS's service department that the gel coat is out of warranty (by 3 or 4 months just FYI) so it would cost me to have the cracks repaired. So why wouldn't someone at B&MSS confirm this up front and advise? Against my better judgement I scheduled a motor service with them while the boat was on site, for their fiberglass person to review the cracks. I tried to put a hold on that the day after agreeing to the service to wait and see how the crack issues played out but alas.... they had already completed the service. See how when it's money they will get they are right on top of things. Then, you're reminded that you have 3 days to pick your boat up or they start charging you. Lastly, after advising me that they couldn't help with ANY of the fiberglass repair bill, the person behind the counter of the service department starts to brag how someone will be spending upwards of $100k to update their boat. They couldn't volunteer $500 toward the fiberglass repair knowing what they would clear on that one job? Key West Co. receives a 1 star. The boat in itself is good. However, it is my hypothesis that Key West was putting out sub-par fiberglass because of the overwhelming demand that the boating industry overall experienced during the COVID shut-downs. Even before the deck cracked, I had to have the main storage compartment lid on the bow replaced because it suffered severe cracking not even 3 months in. I was irritated because of it being a brand-new boat but didn't think it was linked to a bigger problem. Not until the latest cracking issue mentioned above. It is my opinion, that either the fiberglass formula was changed, the boats were being manufactured and released too fast not allowing for proper curing or a combination of both. I called Key West and was told that I could haul my boat to SC and they would fix it for free. On the surface that is great. But think about that, you have to trailer your boat from FL to SC which means gas, food, lodging, wear and tear on your vehicle and boat trailer. That's not one round trip.... it would end up being two. Who can do that? One of the most disappointing things to me, is a company that doesn't stand behind their products. I understand things happen and they can't be on the hook for every issue a boat owner has. However, it should be fairly apparent that this was related to a systemic problem with the fiberglass and at a minimum, offered to split the cost with me. However, like B&MSS, they threw their hands up saying "it's out of warranty." So, if they're willing to cover the cost of repairing at their SC plant, what is the difference in covering the same cost at B&MSS? So overall, the rating for my Key West boat and their dealer comes out to be just over a 2. In short, be sure to ask around and get advice on fiberglass quality of ANY brand you are considering. Also be sure to ask what their gel-coat warranty is. Maybe all of them are 1 year. If so, that just tells what confidence a boat manufacturer has in their product. Hopefully for everyone else out there that purchased a Key West boat within the last 2 years, have not had the same issues that I have. For all of the above, I will not be recommending B&MSS or Key West boats to anyone I know, at least for the time being. If, after talking to other Key West owner's, it seems like this was an isolated incident, maybe. But, I for one will definitely look elsewhere when I purchase my next boat. read more

I had my boat delivered to Boat and Motor Superstors to help fix an issue with my twin yamaha 250s. I bought the Boat earlier this year and it turn out the long blocks needed repair on both engines. I Have an extended warranty for both motors that expires in October and let them know all the information on the certificates. I was informed repairs (not new long blocks) would be over $12,000 or I would have to get new engines. They also told me that the extended warranty would not apply to me and cannot be transferred. I found another place that deals with Yamahas and the engines WERE under warranty and I received two new long blocks, not just a quick repair. I am still fuming about this and feel being a female I was completely almost taken advantage of. Thankfully I found an honest shop and have my boat back running like new. read more

Review for Parts Department: The parts department is phenomenal. Every time I call, they answer, are supportive of my needs and have the parts waiting when I arrive. They can get the less frequent Mercury parts from Atlanta via 2-day, free, which negates ever needing to order online. Chris is VERY knowledgeable, the entire staff over the top. read more

They did a reasonably good job until after $15000 dollars later my engine overheats and they say it's my fault. Both imprllars full of mud. I paid them 2 diagnostic fees and they still wanted more money to fix it. This is ridiculous. I will never use them again. I'm happy to pay honest workers but they are crooked. read more

Don't go there for service. They didn't do all of the work that they charged me for. The work that was done was done incorrectly. I brought it back twice to get it fixed. The second time my boat was sitting there for a month and nothing was done. I took it to another mechanic to fix those problems. read more

These guys suck. Unfortunately because my boat is a Key West they are the only authorized dealer around, and despite that I will never use them again. I have purchased items for my boat through them and shopped on location with them and they act like I am putting them out to help me. I can stand at the parts department forever without a single acknowledgement even though there are always several people standing around, and when they finally do they are rude. They NEVER follow up like they say they will and make me harass them to give me information on my orders. I can only assume that because there are no other dealers around they can treat me like crap... I hope one day that changes. Until then I will go out of my way to avoid them. read more

I purchased a new Tahoe pontoon in 2017. At the time of purchase they said they would haul the boat to their store to do warranty work at no cost. That was a selling point for me. This was good for the first two years then they started charging more and more each way. The flooring had to be replaced under warranty and they were really good about it, they picked it up and sent it to the Factory in Michigan for the repair and there was no cost to me. Two years later, I had the same problem with the flooring that was still under warranty and the Dealer now wanted almost $4,000. just to pick up the boat and "prepare" it for the manufacturers trip to Michigan again, and if anything happened it would not be their fault. I have been in contact with Avalon/Tahoe and they seem sympathetic but nothing has been done. The Service manager Dakota doesn't give a damn and is pretty much a shister in my opinion. We bought our boat from this place and are still making payments on it six years later. Either the boat was bad when we bought it, or the service reps are dishonest, or both. We stored it here, and every year, allegedly same problems with our boat and $1,000s upon $1,000s in repair costs. Not to mention, they often do not have it repaired in the timeframe they say, and often the boat has the same issues they say they just fixed once we get it to our dock every year. We should have known better. The last 3 years, our boat basically started sinking - filling with water. This place never takes culpability for anything. Just wants more $. This year we got suspicious and had another company look at our boat. Our suspicions were confirmed. This place is a complete ripoff. I am with the other reviewers who say they think service does nothing and charges you a fortune. Buyer beware. Do not buy your boat or get your boat repaired here. You will be sorry. We made an offer on a boat which included our existing boat as a trade-in. They accepted our offer, sent us the paperwork, took a deposit and scheduled a Sea Trial. Took my boat here for a 300hr tune up service, after a couple minor repairs they said I needed and 4 weeks later my bill was $1200. Since this is my first visit here I decide to pull one of the spark plugs to see if work was done and to my surprise I find the same old plugs. When I question the work I am told that they where simply forgotten and would be refunded $50 for cost of plugs. Now I'm left wondering what else was forgotten. I feel totally ripped off read more

Buyer beware, this business has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I purchased a 2018 Stingray boat that had a small blemish in the decking that needed to be repaired. 5 weeks later and 4 trips there telling me my boat was ready and the workmanship was amateur at best. On the 4th trip it was satisfactory. I asked for compensation being 5 weeks without a boat and they were compensated from stingray and they kept putting it off on stingray to comp me. I asked for the 20 hour service on the motor to be comped do to there lack of doing the job correct the first time. No such luck. There professionalism there is a joke the President of the company Mark doesn't have a clue what he is doing from day to day. I highly recommend you go elsewhere to get service or purchase a boat. Come time to service and you're shit, they make money selling and outfitting new boats not maintaining boats so don't expect them to fix it anytime soon. Mine sat for 8 weeks before I picked up to take somewhere else. They claim that was because I did not buy my boat from them, yet they claim they have a service department. My friend, however, bought a boat for $80K from them and took in for maintenance and picked his up after 10 weeks and took somewhere else. read more

I read the reviews on Boat and Motor Superstores and I should have known better than take my boat there. I would not recommend anyone take their boat to this place as it appears to be a Bait AND Switch operation. I took my boat there for repairs they told me on the phone if I dropped it off on Friday I would have it back by the following Tuesday at the latest. Dropped it off the service rep said he would call me next week..DID NOT HAPPEN.. So I waited NO CALL..the Friday after I dropped the boat off I called...oh we are 3 to 4 weeks out he tells me...of course the service guy claims I would never tell anyone we would have your boat ready that soon next week as we are 3 - 4 weeks out. WELL if you had told me the truth I would have NEVER left my boat THERE. We are buying a new boat in January it will be Suzuki motor BUT I would never recommend this place to anyone. I begin thinking if they are being dishonest on the phone in an effort to get my boat there then I CAN NOT TRUST them to work on my boat especially after reading where they did not change the plugs when they did a 300 hour tune up on customer's boat. Buyers beware!! In February of 2017 I picked up a boat for my neighbor in key west. The captain took me for a test ride in the lake. The motor kept missing at low speed and he stated that "it was picking up grass from the bottom." The motor would not die but was missing. So, unfortunately I believed him. They then proceeded to load the boat on the trailer while I did paperwork. When I came out the boat was loaded and strapped down with the winch only. I asked him if we needed back tie downs and he shook the boat and said "no it will be fine with the weight of the motor and gas it will not move." Unfortunately I believed him again. I stopped in Naples to grab something to eat and as I was reentering the highway the boat slid off the trailer and caused $3000 worth of damage and $300 worth of tow trucks to lift it back on the trailer. I had the owner contact them about my situation and they agreed to pay for some of the damages. After many attempts and promises to him and myself, checks in the mail, either have heard anything. Since we have stopped harassing them they have stopped communicating with us, which I am sure is what they wanted. Not quite sure whats going on at this boat dealership. Went in and looked at a Key West 21 BR on a Friday. Salesman took his time going over the boat etc. Monday we called back and left a message that we would like to make an offer. We didn't hear anything back so we called again on Tuesday and gave our free and clear trade info and let them know we were approved for a $42, 500 boat loan. Quote was going to be emailed and salesman would follow up. Needless to say a week later and we heard nothing? Purchased a Scout boat elsewhere due to the fact. read more
