Factory Direct Marine & RV - Palm Harbor

I purchased a 2019 Key Largo Center Console boat from Factory Direct Boat Outlet 3 months ago. Let…read moreme start out by saying the boat itself has been great, the trailer and the customer service are worse then a dumpster fire however. 4 weeks ago, the Bimini top on the boat broke and I called the dealer and was told to bring it in as it was under warranty. Not wanting to take my boat in yet because I had a trip planned, I decided would wait until after my trip to take it in. The following weekend when I was prepping my boat to leave, I noticed that I had no lights on the trailer of my boat and found that the wires were completed rotted in half. Whomever wired the trailer did not use any type of heat shrink to protect the wiring, which makes zero sense for something being soaked in salt water. As I was replacing the wiring myself (because I didn't want the same type of workmanship) I was unable to run a wire down the passenger side of the trailer. Upon closer inspection, it was found that the trailer had been spliced together and the weld ground off to hide this. Might I also note, both inner fender wells came off and both bunks came off. Some where on the highway as well. Keep that in mind, this comes back to play in this situation with the dealer. So I called the dealer and cancelled my trip. I trailer the boat to the dealer and explained to them all the things that was wrong with this boat and trailer. They assured me they would take care of this and make it right. After a week and a half went by I called to check on the progress of the work and the told me it was complete and that I could come pick it up. I asked what they did with the trailer and the salesman stated that Geof Hoffman stated that there was nothing they could do with the trailer, as splicing trailers together is an industry standard. I explained to the salesman that this was unacceptable and asked to speak with Geof. He stated that he was in NY at the time but would have him give me a call the next day. Fast forward another week and half and still no call so I stop in at the dealership to see what is happening. The only person in the office is Geof, which is good because that is who I want to talk too anyways. Upon finding out what I am there for, Geof explains to me that he replaced the Bimini top but didn't have to because it wasn't under warranty. So seeing house my boat is less than 90 days old to me, I question why it wouldn't be under warranty. He stated that because I used the top with the boat under power it voided the warranty. I questioned Geof as to why he would assume that I had done as he suggested and he said "well you don't drive with the top up, everyone does that". I explained to him that I most certainly had not and didn't appreciate his comments. He told me that I should appreciate his efforts and that I could take the boat now. I asked him about the spliced trailer and he claimed that to be a industry standard and that he stood by the 1 year warranty on the trailer and that if I didn't like it, to have my attorney send him a letter and he will forward it to his attorney. I then asked him about all of the other repairs that weren't addressed on the trailer and he stated he knew nothing about them as they addressed with him. I asked him when I could expect that they would be completed and he stated in a few weeks. I explained that this was unacceptable and needed a better estimate. It was at this time the Geof became irritated and began getting frustrated and wanting to get louder and louder and told me to take my boat and get off his lot if I didn't like it. Needless to say, but Geof and I didn't see eye to eye on this and he called the Sheriff's Office because I wasn't going to accept him trying to rip me off. Once the S.O. arrived they looked at the situation agreed they could understand the frustration and ascertained from Geof what my options were with this trailer. Geof stated that I could contact Key Largo and address the trailer issues with them directly but he preferred I let his company conduct the work. The moral of the story is that dealing with Factory Direct Boat Outlet has been nothing short of a nightmare. These people are crooks when it comes to keep their words and standing by the products they sell. They are simply trying to sell you the boat and then not have to deal with you anymore. Geof Hoffman is the most unprofessional business person I have ever come in contact with. Warlock Trailers is whom they state is the builder of the trailer, but each search of the trailer on the internet comes back to Factory Direct Marine and RV. So I have been left to assume that this is their brand of trailer they make, since they will not address where the actual factory is that produces this trailer. Do yourself a favor and buy anywhere else then from this place and stay away from WarLock Trailers. There is nothing positive or good about this place.

Caladesi Island State Park - Coconut I found along the shore

    Caladesi Island State Park

Absolutely loved this island!…read more I have an annual pass for state parks so I didn't have to get into honeymoon island itself. A short drive to the paying booth for taking the ferry from honeymoon to caladesi. It is $20 dollars but they do take military discount too! The two guys on the boat are very funny guys. The captain loves to tell dad jokes and the other tells you fun facts about the islands. It's a short ride to caladesi. Once we arrived there was lots to explore however my friend and I just had a beach day. There is construction going on due to the past hurricanes but there is bathrooms, a cafe, and plenty of shade and trails! I can't wait to go back and explore more. The ferry takes off from honeymoon every hour and from caladesi every half hour. Highly recommend a day trip here!! Water is so nice.

Beautiful beach that has tons of shells…read more This beach is emptier than others because you have to take a ferry to get to it and you have a four hour limit. We aren't major beach people, but I got really interested recently in finding shells. We were at Clearwater Beach and didn't see a lot of shells so I did research into where we could find an abundance of shells and this was one of the beaches that popped up. They have so many shells, but all the shells are very similar. They are the clamshell looking type. So if you're looking for a variety of shells, I would suggest going elsewhere. However, I was super excited to find all of these shells. We ended up getting buckets full of them. You pay eight dollars to get into honeymoon State Park. Then you follow the signs to the parking lot where it is $20 per adult and $12 per child, five and under are free, for the ferry ride. The ferry ride is a boat that is actually quite fun for the children. It's about 10 minutes and in the morning, you can see dolphins and the ferry will stop to look at them. They can fit about 45 to 50 people on each boat, and they do fill up. The first boat is at 10 AM and leaves every half hour after that. You can rent two beach chairs and an umbrella for $35 and they have food and drinks that you can buy on the island. Since you can't bring carts most people travel light so we didn't bring shade or seats. Being that our whole goal was to find shells we weren't sitting much anyways. It is pretty empty. This is not a packed beach at all and we were there on a Saturday in the summer so prime beach season. The sand is white and fine and the water is beautiful. If you're looking for a beach that isn't that crowded I would highly recommend coming here.
