Located in Centre County, PA (which apparently has over 130 caves!), this unique tour takes you through a beautiful limestone cavern entirely by boat. The cave tour lasts about 45 minutes and costs $25 per person. They also offer a wildlife tour by bus, but we only had time for the cave portion. Be aware there's a fairly large staircase you'll need to go down to reach the cave entrance. Something to keep in mind if anyone in your group has mobility issues. Each boat holds around 22 people, but we visited on a quiet Monday afternoon and only had 8 in our group, which made it feel more personal. Our tour guide was excellent and knowledgeable, engaging, and had a sense of humor. He encouraged questions and had thoughtful answers for everything we threw at him. At the end of the cave, you actually exit into a small lake, take a brief spin around, and then head back through the cave to where you started, very cool and peaceful. There's also a gift shop on-site that sells snacks, drinks, and the usual souvenirs. Tours typically depart every 30 to 60 minutes depending on how busy they are, so timing is pretty flexible. All in all, it's a fun, unique experience that's well worth the stop!

It was a Sunday, and we were planning on paddling in Pine Creek, but had a bad shuttle experience there the previous day and decided to try something new on the way home to Pittsburgh. We called early in the morning before they were open, and Dave ended up calling back quickly, and he was very amenable to setting up our shuttle. We got there a little later than we had planned, but they were ready for us, and rapidly got us loaded with our personal kayaks and the rentals, and then we were on our way. To gloss over the trip, it was beautiful, and Dave had given us some tips on things to watch out for, including a bald eagle's nest. Great day. When we got to the takeout, we called Dave, and he was down from their location within 5 minutes. So a great experience....you can tell that they love what they do, and really look forward to repeat business and seeing you again.

For almost ten years, my family has had an annual canoe/kayak trip and we used "J.R.A." to do it!…read moreEvery year that we've gone, J.R.A. and its employees, have always made it a fun and exciting experience! I remember one year, we actually spent a little too much time at the rope swing and our group didn't start getting back to the docks until after 9:30p.m.. The last two canoes didn't make it until almost 10:15!!! Although the J.R.A. employees were rightfully irritated that they had to stay an hour and a half past closing time, they were very professional and handled it very well! Considering 75% of my group was very drunk, I was extremely surprised at how the night ended, especially knowing how my family can be after a long and exhausting day in the sun and alcohol in their guts! As for the people that wrote a review stating that "Nobody told us we had to pay??" It's a business, not a nonprofit organization..... Not sure where the hard part in comprehending that is but like they say, common sense isn't so common any more I guess... But then, to go on to the part where you thought you would try to get over on J.R.A. and its employees and just grab a canoe and go without paying, that there cuts the cake for sure!!!! You said that him sending an employee to tell you that the boss was going to have your vehicle towed was out of spite?? You're damn lucky he didn't just have it towed, and called the cops! You would've shit your pants coming off the docks and seeing you're vehicle hooked up and an officer there with handcuffs waiting for you! Just so you know, what you had attempted to do is theft! And as for your horrible attempt at writing a bad review, that backfired as well, because after anyone with half a brain reads it, they'll realize just how big of a piece of trash you are and disregard it, probably also noting on how you wasted your time!!!!
