We first met Bob at an open house in Ballard and immediately got a great vibe. He was friendly, approachable and knowledgeable about the market. We were looking to work with someone who wouldn't pressure us into a house we didn't want, and someone who would be patient with us and offer sage advice as we looked at countless numbers of craftsman homes. When we started looking at houses together, Bob would break out things we never knew about renovating. I think he said he was a contractor for awhile so he would always be the first, for example, to pull up the heating grate to see if we could get one more refinishing done on that floor. He was honest with us when we ran into a house with a lot of lurking problems and never glossed over important details. Bob's true value to us came down to the actual buying period. Our house was only on the market for four days and Bob knew exactly how to play it to make sure our offer would compete with all the other offers. It was a super stressful time but Bob kept in constant contact with us... and at the end of the four days we got our house thanks to Bob. We could not have been happier with our experience working with Bob to find and purchase our first home. We found Bob to be professional, knowledgeable, hard working and a pleasure to interact with. Bob is the greatest. I honestly couldn't imagine us weathering this torturous Seattle home-buying process with anyone else. Bob has that kind of unshakeable optimism and good humour that's contagious (and so necessary). It kept us afloat. But don't let his happy-go-lucky nature fool you--he has amazing instincts, backed up by years (decades?) of experience and his background as a contractor. We had certain schools in mind, knew we liked historic homes with character and were not first time home buyers. I read Alex's review and had to chime in. Our experience with Bob has been very similar, which goes to show what a genuine person Bob truly is! We also met Bob at an open house in Ballard. While some realtors are a little pushy, Bob came across as a nice, laid back guy and we immediately felt comfortable with him. Looking at houses with Bob was really fun because we learned so much from him. It seems like he's done absolutely everything you can think of as far as remodeling or updating goes, whether it was to his own home or someone else's. He's incredibly detail oriented and hands-on. In every house we looked at he would open up a vent or attic space and crawl right in! He truly loves the quirks and charms of older homes.
