I contacted Bob to handle a divorce for me in 2017 so this review has been a long time coming. First off, Bob's receptionist Margarita may come off as sort of mean, however, when she warms up to you, she is very sweet. Bob, however, is very condescending and judgmental. He always seemed to add his personal opinion or unsolicited advice on my case. When I would ask questions he would answer me in an annoyed manner or laugh. My divorce was pretty painless since I was only married for a very, very short amount of time. I paid a retainer of way more money than the divorce was priced at, but, Bob recommended that we leave money there as a cushion in case my ex-husband came back and Bob had to do more paperwork. He reassured me that if the money wasn't needed that they would just charge me the hours used and refund me the rest. Needless to say, when I called to get a refund on the money that was not used, I never saw a penny of it. Bob dared to confuse me with another one of his clients and was yelling at me telling me I was her. I kept saying "Bob, Bob, Bob, I am not her". In the end, I asked him who did he think I was, and he responded by giving me the client's name and her particular information on her case which I'm sure breached confidentiality. I reiterated to him that I was not her. He yelled for Margarita and didn't even bother to put me on mute when he said "talk to this obnoxious lady, I don't have the time to deal with this". Margarita placed me on hold. She came back on the line to say that Bob was not giving me any type of refund. I know lawyers are supposed to not be the nicest people, but, geez... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DON'T HIRE BOB EDWARDS FOR YOUR LEGAL NEEDS. read more

Mr. Edwards took me for over 20K and my divorce is still ongoing after 3 years. Bob is mostly interested in telling you how great he is and billing (A LOT) for every little thing. I have retained new counsel and he was appalled at Mr. Edward's lack of progress in my case. It is my belief that Bob is all about fees and not concluding anything. Other reviews that state Bob uses email are a LIE!! Bob told me he won't use email as it's a distraction. My belief is that Mr. Edwards won't use email as it would be hard to him to charge his favorite 1/3 hour, which he charges just to open a letter or send a fax. And his rate is HIGH!!! The majority of the phone calls I have received from his office are those from his staff asking for more retainer, more retainer, more retainer... In conclusion: If have an abundance of money to waste and are needing a severe injection of aggravation in your life, then Bob Edwards is your guy... Be careful before paying Bob a retainer fee. I took my divorce case to him and he collected a retainer fee to start working on my case. He collected copied of my bank accounts and my assets. Then, his secretary called me less than a week later for an additional retainer fee, this was even before they even got started on my case. They know I had enough money in my account to pay more. This was a bad start for me and I took my case somewhere else. I never got any refund for my retainer, and they did not send a breakdown for their charges. read more

Be aware, I had a horrible experience with Mr. Edwards. First, I would feel belittled when I would go for appointments. Also, he would always talk about how he has all this experience and I felt I got nothing in the end. Second, his assistant screens all calls, therefore, I would rely on her to give him messages. Either she didn't tell him or he never returns calls. His assistant admitted one time that she forgot to call me herself when she said she would. In the end, I ended up firing Mr. Edwards and going to the courts and using the self help dept (wonderful people) filled out and filed all necessary papers and finished the deal myself.
