The day of the hearing, I met him at the courthouse and I said, "Good morning Mr. Marvellino," right at the door of the courthouse, and he completely turned his head and ignored me and kept walking in. Then when I picked up my things, he was also there trying to avoid eye contact with me and started talking with another attorney and continued ignoring me. We went to the elevator, and he took a different elevator. While we were waiting at the courtroom door, he was walking around looking at or reading things on the wall and right about 3 minutes before they opened the courtroom, he approached me and we went in. Then I realized he was not prepared and/or had not even re-read or reviewed my case before we were called by the judge. While we were waiting to be called, I was sitting next to him and I noticed that he was using his iPad and navigating Facebook and other social media and watching videos. Of course, judges and others may not notice that because some good attorneys tend to use their devices to review their cases while waiting to be called, but I personally witnessed that he was interacting on social media and responding to comments. Then we were called by the judge, and he said things incorrectly (arguments). If you are in a family law case battle, he is not the right one to represent your case. He might be good for another kind of cases, but in my opinion, based on my own experience, he is not. I am leaving this review based on my own experience. If someone else had a good experience hiring him, good for them, but that was not my case. He never called me or explained how he was going to go about fighting my case. His communication was horrible. I had called him over and over trying to give him information so that he could build a case and he acted like it was all irrelevant. I asked Mr Rudy to ask the judge for certain things like a tier to mediation, which he told me was too late to ask for so I asked the judge myself and it was granted. I had to ask the judge myself to pull police reports, school records and other things that Mr Rudy would not ask for. Again I represented myself basically with him sitting at my side doing absolutely nothing. He didn't take my case seriously at all. Good luck if you obtain the lawyer. I love my child and took this very serious and he didn't. We love our kids that's why we are willing to pay high dollar to fight the good fight.

I was later told that I owed money to replenish the exhausted retainer and would also need to pay an additional retainer before representation could continue. These unexpected charges created a significant financial burden, especially because I am permanently disabled in California. Most importantly, I believe the handling of my case negatively affected my family-court matter and my relationship with my children. This review reflects my personal experience and opinions. Seemingly rounds up on time spent on simple email communications among everything else. Therefore sum of said charges was extremely expensive, contrary to promise of being quick and reasonable. My first lawyer said, "Due to the simple nature of the divorce, I may even get some of my initial retainer payment back. Took incredibly long time to dissolve marriage. Quietly discontinued counsel once marriage dissolved, instead of ensuring all financial equalization goes smoothly and all is finalized. Straight ignored any attempted correspondence after dissolution of marriage, related to delayed spousal support and equalization of finances. Im currently handling the still unresolved (3 years!) equalization of finances myself with my Ex spouses legal counsel who did not bounce as her attorney, before all concluded. Extremely pompous and arrogant. Unable to summarize and help me through the hurdles of disclosures, the MSA etc the entire way through. One of the worst experiences of my entire life, and by far the most expensive. Hire a mediation attorney and save your hard earned dough and your peace of mind.
