I think they should have just taken responsibility and given me some compensation. Sadly, this did not happen. Marc is the only mechanic I should have let touch my car.

I took it to see Doctor Jim…read more Truth be told, it was the first time I'd been a big girl and took my own car in to see something done to it. 26 and I'm finally not calling my dad to fix my issues. Go me! Anyway, I took the Yaris in because the brakes were screaming and I didn't want them to stop working and make me the one to scream. Jimmy took care of me and the car and made some good recommendations for keeping her in good health going forward. Seems I've been a bit of a slacker, so the price tag was a tag high, but nothing was individually outrageously priced. When you put it all together (if I was clever I wouldn't have had to pay it all at once and could have done it over the year), my credit card was the one making the noise. Jim and his team fixed me up, though, all in the same day, and with a smile on their faces. Sitting in the garage smelling waiting room was actually pretty entertaining. There's a pamphlet, picture, or poster on practically every inch of wall space. I felt like a kid, twisting and turning to look at everything. Having an iPhone with Words With Friends on it didn't hurt either. All in all a great experience and I'll be back (not too long from now since I'm a responsible adult and all!)

After paying $590.00 on determining the issue…read morewith my engine light, I was advised I would need to replace "camshaft positioning sensor" which cost $144.00 and labour will be 4.5 hours which comes to a grand total of $830.00. Instead I obtained the camshaft position sensor from the local dealership for $110.00 and paid a competent reliable mechanic $250.00 for the replacement. So, basically saved $500.00 dollars. I would not recommend these mechanics for any out of towners. As I was out of town and probably explains the high cost charges. ;(

We used the Garage for several years without issue, and always appreciated their work and professionalism. However, last fall, we brought our car in to have the winter tires installed. They have ALWAYS been on their own separate set of rims. When the car was in the shop, Jeremy called me to tell me the tires were worn out, so we elected to purchase new ones and have them installed. But when we picked up the car, we found our summer tires no longer on rims. He claimed our winters hadn't been on rims and they used the summer rims for the new winter tires. Frankly, with nothing but my word against theirs, I left, and went over and over in my head every possibility of how my winter tires could have NOT have been on rims when I dropped them off, but it's really not possible. They were always on rims. I carried them up from my basement that morning (heavy). Nevertheless, through several follow up calls, the Garage was unwilling to truly consider that the mistake could have been theirs. He "asked his guys" about it, and they claimed there'd been no rims. "I don't know what to tell you," was the response Jeremy repeatedly gave. So, we gave up and have since gone to a new garage. Mistakes happen, but the disinterest in trying to work with us to actually consider and resolve the situation is why I can't recommend this place anymore. And lesson learned: take pictures of your tires before you hand them over to any garage.

I phoned The Garage, as it was close by, to see if they could fix the tire asap. Larry from Newfoundland said he was all booked for that day. I told him where we were heading and he said bring the car in immediately and I will get you on your way. He said that he had wanted to go sandbagging but had to work, so he said he would fix our tire so we could go and help the flood victims. He made me cry as he was so kind and understanding. I have been a client of Roy Rump & Sons for about 4 years now and each time I've needed them, I was made to feel welcome by both the front-desk folks and the mechanical technicians. They explain all repairs clearly and with patience. They always provide as accurate an estimate as possible and, if they diagnose an issue and discover it was a simpler fix than they thought at the time, they gladly tell me that it will not cost as much to fix and that kind of honesty is why I will never go anywhere else. They always send me reports with digital photos and videos of the work along with their recommendations to keep my SUV in good working condition. There in only one little drawback... because they are so popular for all the things I mentioned, they are very busy a lot of the time and it can affect how soon they can book an appointment with you but, it is always worth the wait. I also asked if they have an inspection service, which they do, so had them perform that. I recieved a very clear prioritized inspection report on my 6 year old car, which I can execute on. Car repairs are not cheap, in general. I think I was charged fairly and got great service. I'm also gonna note here, this business was recommended on my neighbourhood FB page. I notice 2 horrible reviews her on yelp. On google they have a near perfect score. In my opinion, the two reviews don't hold water. One is by someone listed as being in California, with only one review. The other is local, also one review. I'm guessing they are fake accounts. Do with that what you will.

Car was bottoming out on the road, I did not feel safe. I could hear parts banging around under the car as we drove over bumps. 6 hours after I dropped my car off, they call me telling me I need $2,000.00 of work done and there's no way it passed a safety 36 days ago. One of the parts he said it needed was just replaced 2 months ago. (passenger lower control arm and bushing). Weird, HYUNDAI did a safety on it and everything was fine. He quoted me on the phone 800$ for the work but when I show up, the quote on paper is $2,000.00. I was upset of course and he asked me to never come back to his establishment again. They tried to take advantage of me because I am a young female.
