The shop is owned and run by an older British lady. She was so sweet and so kind with serving us and making sure we were comfortable. The front of the shop sells tea and tea accessories. For afternoon tea, they ask you to make your tea selection from the tins behind the counter before being seated. The tearoom itself is adorably decorated, with rose-patterned wallpaper and wicker chairs. The tea cups have a floral pattern as well. I ordered the "Professor Higgins", the simplest option for afternoon tea, with two plain scones. The scones were large, warm, and served with the proper accoutrements - clotted cream, jams, marmalade, on a tiered serving platter of course. Pinkies out. The Russian Earl Grey tea was delicious as well, if a bit too hot to drink straight away. I was, unfortunately, struck by little dingy touches that detracted from the experience. The glass tabletop had streaks from being wiped down, the white wooden floors were full of dirty footprints and scones crumbs. Seat cushions were squished and flattened against the wicker chair backs. It was also just absolutely dead silent, except for the hum of traffic coming from outside. I am sure it gets lively when they are busy, but on a quiet day, some music would have added a bit of ambience. At one point, the front doors were propped open, and someone stood right outside the door, smoking a cigarette. The smell of smoke was strong inside the tearoom, rather unpleasant to be honest. I would still give this place another try, maybe with some company next time.

I would say service is more hands off as we had to ask for menu and check instead of it being proactively offered. We did not even know we had a dessert still to be selected when we asked for our bill. However, the sandwiches and the scones were yummy and warm and Thai oolong we tried was new and flavorful.

First and foremost, I'm here to dispel rumors of grabbing a burger is going to be less expensive than other meals... Here that's not the case. I did order a cheeseburger and a Coke because why not?! The cheeseburger was embarrassingly expensive, but I will say it was also damn delicious! We are so used to our burgers coming with different sides when we order them, I'm mostly it's fries. Here, there are no sides, and in fact because it was so late, I wasn't able to order any additional food, including the french fries. When I come back here again? Probably not. Yes, this is despite the fact that it was a tasty burger. I think with better planning I would've found something a little bit more to my liking.

Per the website recently undergoing a change in ownership, the Café and Tea Room previously praised by some for offering one of Sweden's best White Lady Cakes and seasonal Semla featuring only half-stocked shelves at 09h30 on a Monday, it was with just one other man sipping Coffee on the patio that questions were abruptly answered and four items gathered for Cash-only, the clerk's surprisingly limited English fluency perhaps playing part in the situation. Sitting down with one plate and a bag outdoors, Bananza's Budapest Cake replacing Berries offered elsewhere with Orange Slices that were matched to Milk Chocolate and Vanilla Cream, it was from here that two of three items ordered repeatedly at other Bakeries fell flat, the Tosca dry and gritty beneath Nuts and a Chocolate Ball flavored more like Oats than Cocoa or Coconut while the Katalan thankfully propped up everything else by way of its buttery center surrounded by a double-layer of Jam.
