I had a very good experience with Bob's Appliance Service both by customer service and the technician's knowledge and experience. I called in for a dryer repair. That evening the technician (Miguel) showed up and diagnosed the problem, said he would order the part and they would call me back once they received the part. I really appreciated he fit me in at the end of his day. Once they had the part, I was called, given a 4 hour window for the next afternoon and Miguel repaired my dryer. Do yourself a favor and avoid Bob's Appliance Service in Fort Collins, CO. Their customer service is terrible, and what should have been a simple dryer repair turned into three days of wasted time, long waits, and still no working appliance. They give you a massive five-hour appointment window (12-5pm). On day one, the technician arrived around 4:30pm. On day two, he didn't show up until after 6pm. On day three, he told us he would be our first stop with the part, but instead showed up around 6:30pm--after we had already left for dinner--because the office schedulers changed his route. To make matters worse, every time I called the office for help, the schedulers were rude, dismissive, and made no effort to provide even basic customer service. This company wasted our time, left our dryer unrepaired, and treated us with complete disregard. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for appliance service. I would have given Bob's ZERO stars but that was not an option! I then called Mr. Appliance and they came next day, with a 2-hr appointment window, and had my dryer working again in very little time! I called Bob's Appliance Service in Fort Collins in advance, gave the exact Sub-Zero model, and asked them to bring the correct refrigerator door gasket. The tech arrived with the gasket but immediately told me he "didn't realize" it was a high-end unit and said gasket replacement would require two technicians with additional cost for a follow-on visit. I had also requested a service check on my Thermador range hood, which had been vibrating intermittently, but he did not carry an anemometer to carry out a basic air flow check (CFM) so we skipped that service. Despite their website listing Sub-Zero and Thermador under "appliances we serve," the tech did not seem fully prepared or familiar with the equipment. I cancelled the follow-up visit the next day. Pros: Arrived with the part; polite. Cons: Unprepared for model; no airflow test tools; unexpected upcharge for a second tech. I can't count the many times that I've called Bob's appliance for repairs in our home. I actually have their number memorized. I have never had bad service with anyone on the phone, or with any repair person. Woody has been our repairman for years and we have become very good friends. He is incredibly knowledgeable. He has worked on our trash compacter (not his favorite, but he did it), our dishwashers, range...etc. They gave always been up front with their fees and we have never had any surprises or extra fees at the end of service. I listened on the phone before I disconnected and heard Jamie laugh loudly as she hung the phone up. That was rude. Repair tech was unprofessional and unconventional in procedure. Promises were not kept. Misquoted fee. Over charged for labor. I Will not do business again and will tell all that will listen; about my experience with Bob's Appliance Service. I called Bob's Appliance Service on Thursday about a water leak under my refrigerator in a rental. I was unable to get to and inspect myself. The tenants had looked and cleaned water from under it and could not figure out if any more water was coming out. So, I called the closest repair place I found on the web. Bob must pay to be on the top of the list cause he showed up there. (Too bad it does not go by performance/price) I talked to a Shey, he said he was a repairman and stated he would be the one to go out to do the repair. Then he told me he could not get there till Monday afternoon. (Four days show up for a water leak that may or may not be contained) Shey offered no Emergent time schedule at all. (Me expecting to hear one with double the cost) I was pretty sure it was contained so agreed to the four day response. I asked what the diagnostic charge was and he said "Eighty Dollars". I thought that was a reasonable price as I was pretty sure it was a crease/crack in the plastic water line. Simple fix. I confirmed the appointment and told him to call me when he was on his way out to the house as I needed to inform the tenant. I also was going to see if the problem could be resolved by the tenant over the weekend. I asked Shey what the cancelation policy was; he told me as long as he has not arrived to the house, I could cancel with no charge. This was acceptable and I did not worry as he was to call me while on his way. I thanked him and hung up. I did get the Renter to shut the water off to the refrigerator over the weekend. Monday afternoon I get a call from a Triston asking for a $153.38 payment telling me that he could take my card number right then. I asked if he had been to the house or are still there and he said he had left and the fix was completed. I was put a back; I actually verbally stammered, this was a number of misspoken promises and a surprise at the cost of splicing a 5/16" plastic tube of $153.38. Also, I agreed to a diagnostic and gave no authorization for repair. (Expecting a call before arrival and before repair). I asked for an invoice and there was none. (Digital or any other sort) I told Triston to have the office call me to complete our transaction... I received a call from a Jamie on Tuesday afternoon. I asked to have an invoice Emailed to me. After some doing I received one while we were still on the phone. That is when I saw the diagnostic charge - $88.00, 5/16" connector part - $5.00, and labor charge - $60.00. Tax - $.38. I explained I was quoted an 80 diagnostic charge from Shey and gave no authorization to effect repairs. (The renter would have been "OK" with no water coming out of the refrigerator) there was silence on Jamie's end. I continued with explaining: All home repair facilities I have ever Managed and worked with include a deduction or inclusion of diagnostic charge into the labor. Or, if the repair is performed, the diagnostic charge included that labor if below a one hour time span. Silence on Jamie's end. Not to mention; I gave no authority to continue with any repair. I left the silence a float for an uncomfortable amount of time. Then, not being an arguing person, I told Jamie I brought these topics up for her review as I would most likely include them In a review of my experience and.. silence on Jamie's end. I have never written a negative review for any business, but I feel it necessary here. I'll start by saying that the technicians with this business are incredible - they are knowledgable, helpful, and have excellent customer service. The office staff (or at least the woman that answers the phone) on the other hand consistently demonstrates some of the worst customer service I have experienced from a business. I have had Bob's take care of two issues now, and every time I call, the woman on the other line is dismissive, unhelpful, and often downright rude. Asking a simple question incites sighs and a negative tone from her. More importantly, she offers no guidance on estimated time lines ("I don't know. We'll call you when the part comes.") or processes. I cannot encourage you more to take your business elsewhere. It is a shame that such good technicians may lose work because of poor customer service outside of their control. read more

I called about my microwave not working. What I loved was that the young lady asked what my model and serial number was right off the bat. That already says they are going to have some foreknowledge of potential parts needed. Tech named Mark came over very next day. They did say anywhere between noon and 5 pm, and he showed at 1 pm. Nice guy, wore a mask the whole time. Fixed my microwave quickly then showed me exactly what had gone wrong and what part he'd replaced. I thought the bill was reasonable and saved me from having to go through the hassle of buying an expensive replacement. Bobs customer service in the office is very poor. I had an awesome tech, come and go, from my house way too many times. Only to get no fix for my fridge. Paid labor for a sealed system and it didn't work. Then they came back 2 more times. With temporary(the cool for 2 weeks). Never once did they tried to find out. After the office would randomly call me and say we have parts(what?), or we can come out today it's warm(what?)I asked them to come up with a game plan with the owner to fix my fridge. I found Bob's Appliance team to be extremely effective in their communication. Still waiting on a dryer repair. They have been entirely unhelpful and time wasting. Took the day off for Appt #1, they never showed. They claimed they needed to order parts before even showing up based on the model #. Appt #2 they came 10 days later to find its not the model # they thought. Now I have to wait another 10 days to MAYBE get my dryer fixed under warranty. by then it would have been a MONTH since my warranty call. Get your act together, I would have called somebody else. The customer service I received from Bob's was extraordinary. I took delivery of a new freezer on June 3rd. It was "installed" by the truck driver who did not inspire confidence. A "high temperature" warning light on the panel that did not turn off was the first problem. Bob's was dispatched by the manufacturer. Woody, the technician, is a delight. He noted immediately that the freezer fan was not working. In fact, it was not even connected. High temp light should go off once the fan had a chance to work. It didn't. He called the manufacture's technical support which is required. They said - must be the panel that displays the warning light. Woody replaced it after part arrived. No change. Manufacturer said - must be the circuit board. Waited for that to come from Illinois. Woody installed that. Along the way he taught me how to tell if the fan wasn't working. Everything seemed okay but - fan stopped working. Back to square one. Everyone at Woody's tried their best by calling the manufacturer and providing quick service. (They are required to do so to enable me to finally get a replacement unit.) All was done efficiently and with a positive attitude despite the fact that the manufacturer pays for only one visit to solve the problem. I am now waiting for the manufacturer to call and tell me that my case will result in a new unit. Thanks to Bob's, I am in a good position to get one. read more

I am very unhappy with Bob's Appliance, they are the service provider used by Lowes for our warranty. They have been out twice and the problem is not resolved. Now we are waiting for a third service call, with a 5 hour appointment window. I feel that asking me to wait around for 5 hours with no indication on when you could be at my home is unreasonable. When I called the operate to ask for a smaller window she said she could not do that but she could reschedule me. I have now spent a total of over 15 hours of my time waiting for them to fix something that has not been fixed. I needed a good cheap dryer in a pinch. I work a lot and my wife needed to have the dryer for our newborn. I went in on my day off after it was determined I couldn't repair the one that broke. I found a good Fridgidaire dryer for $250 dollars. It works great and came with a 6 month warranty. They delivered it and installed it for an extra $70 which was great considering I didn't have the right vehicle to transport it and they also removed my old one from the second floor apt. I live in. They came out to my property twice to repair the dishwasher. The first time they were late, and said they would need to order a part that would be there within the nextweek. When a week had come and gone, I called and asked them on the status. They said my washing machine part was in, I said we had had our dishwasher looked at NOT our washing machine. She said that she had meant to say dishwasher and it was a slip of the tongue. They sent a service person to install said part, and when he came he had a washing machine part, and rediagnosed our dishwasher with a COMPLETELY different problem. He said he had to order a NEW part and would call us within a week. We were not charged for the first part, but we were charged for both service visits, and I never heard from them again. We were assigned Bob's Appliance for a washing machine repair under our GE first year warranty. Two guys came and one just sat there saying things like, "It is a good thing you have the extended warranty for these machines." He also indicated that, "They ship broken replacement parts, so don't expect to have this repaired until the middle to end of next week." When I asked if I could have the part(s) shipped overnight for a faster repair, I was told that I could call the office and ask. The one guy who stood beside the machine, never opened it up. He just called GE to be walked through the diagnostics. The part needing replacement was the diverter. I called GE and asked to have the part(s) shipped overnight and was told that would be done. We called Bob's to make an appointment for the replacement part to be installed and were told they would not even consider making an appointment until the part(s) were received. (They ship to us not them.) In frustration I called GE again and was advised we could contact another party for doing the repair work. We did. They came right over, took the top off the machine (it's a front load), tapped the diverter because the repair guy had seen them get stuck and it now works! Yes, we need to replace the sticking diverter with the new part(s), but in the meantime, we can do laundry at home. Plus, they offered to come replace the part as soon as it comes in--we have the appointment. Bottom line, Bob's offered no service, slammed GE appliances, and made little to no effort to problem solve. The company we called in our little town understood we are older folks, that a washing machine is a necessary appliance and was willing to go above and beyond to help. I will never use this company again. Had a problem with my oven after moving in. It was still under warranty and GE called these guys to come out. The day came and gone and no one came out. Contacted them and they never received an order. So got it rescheduled. Another week comes by and during the time frame they were supposed to be here, I got a call saying that they would need to order a part and would call when it came in. A week went by, no call. Called them, no answer. Called GE and they gave us a window of when they would be here. Another week later during a 2-7 time frame. 655p hits and no one is here. Right before I was about to call, he called to say he was on his way. Showed up 20 min later after the window (which is an inconvenience on its own). Didn't bring anything with him but the parts, and to get the fan out of our oven he needed tools because there were stripped screws in it. So he had to leave and told us to have our builder take the screws out and then he would be out to install the part right away. RIGHT AWAY! Talked to a lady on the phone a day later(soonest the builder could come out) and she said woodie wasn't available for another week to come out. When he told me right away in person. I am beyond irritated. I will never ever use this company and if I hear of anyone suggesting them, I am going to steer them away. Terrible customer service and a horrible service tech. I am afraid of who he is going to do to my oven when he comes back out. Which I read all these other reviews first before I agreed to have GE use these guys. The service person, Marc, was professional, on time, and fixed the issue quickly. I have nothing but good things to say -- from the phone receptionist to the technician. So I used to use this business all the time.....I will not be anymore. I was assured a repair person would be here today....that the technician worked between 2-7. Then got a call saying a technician would be here between 2:30 and 5. At 5 I called the office because no one had come. She answered, assured me they didn't call to give me that time frame, but that we were on the schedule and he would be here by 7 pm.....well that time came and went and no tech and no call....Called and there was an outgoing message only so couldn't even leave a message. A guy came to fix my washer. He didn't even inspect it thoroughly and diagnosed the wrong problem. It made a terrible grinding noise. He said it was the agitation. Told me he had to order the part. A week goes by. I follow up with them. Osomething. part is in. He comes and puts in the agitatior. Turns it on. Nope. Still grinding noise. Oh I don't remember it making THAT noise. I said yeah it WAS! He flips It backwards and starts to take bottom apart. He's popping greasy gears off onto my creme colored carpet! Nobig deal to him! I freaked out and said put SOMETHING down! He asks if i have something. I gave him an old shirt. I went upstairs and told my husband to handle it. I was furious. 15 minutes later I came back down. " I'm so sorry but your gonna kill me ma'am. I cleaned up the grease but the cleaner I found and used is lightening the carpet for some reason." He used BLEACH! He ruined my carpet and never fixed my machine. We got a new one from Home Depot. Got charged for 2 service calls. Called owner about ruined carpet. She completely blew me off. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE EVER! 3 months ago our oven went out we let our landlords know. 1 month ago they called Bob's appliance. 3 weeks ago they sent a service tech to look at the oven. They needed to order a part. The part was supposedly back ordered for 2 weeks but they didn't call or let us know anything, I had to continuously call and check on the status. The part came in the Tuesday before thanksgiving so I asked if they could come Wednesday, but was told no because they weren't working the rest of the week. So I waited another week for them to come. Unfortunately they were supposed to fix it yesterday but they ordered the wrong part. So now we wait for who knows how long to get the correct part and a fix. Fingers crossed. They LEFT THE WATER LINE LEAKING under my dishwasher after attempting to repair it and it RUINED THE WOOD FLOOR IN MY KITCHEN!!! When we discovered the leak, we quickly realized that the technician had not completely turned off the water line to the dishwasher, and had left it unhooked from the water valve. Mistakes happen, no big deal. BUT when I contacted the OWNER BELINDA she first blamed it on the valve, then faulty pipes, then she blamed us for not DOUBLE CHECKING THE TECHNICIAN'S work!!!!! I could not believe how RUDE she was to us, she basically called us liars and told us to deal with the homeowners insurance to get it repaired. Since then I called again to give her one last chance to rectify the situation and the receptionist belittled me because I misunderstood who the business owner was! I recently contact Bob's because my dishwasher wouldn't drain. I have used them in the past and my parents have used them for over 20 years. I was given a repair window of 2-7, which personally was unacceptable, but I took it. I was informed the technician would call when he was on his way. I never received a call, he just showed up. He was extremely slow, and I was glad I wasn't paying by the hour. When he finished, he stated that he had unclogged the drain, but that it appears there was a small crack in the pump and he would recommend I have it replace, but said that I was good to use the dishwasher. I was not left a copy of the service order, nor was the service fee collected. He said that someone would be in touch with me with an estimate of the part should I decide to fix it. A week later I was contacted and a voicemail was left that they had my estimate. In the meantime, I have ran my dishwasher two times. After the second time, it has flooded my under my cabinets and down into the basement ceiling. I immediately called the number, which was after normal business hours and have the (un)fortunate luck of getting the wonderful worker that had originally been there. He tried to tell me that that had happened because the wood under the dishwasher was weak from the water damage. There wasn't any water damage or leaking before he came to unclog my dishwasher. I told him I wanted to speak to the manager and was informed I would have to call back the following business day. The next day I spoke with Belinda. She said that she had talked to Woody (the repair worker) and he told her that he had specifically told me not to use the dishwasher. She also said that it was clearly written on my work order not to use it. I informed her that I was not given a copy of my work order that he had not told me to use it, as a matter of fact, I was told the exact opposite. She was very adamant that Woody had been there for 29 years and if he made a mistake he owned up to it and they made things right. I attempt to reason with her that he was not telling the truth and the phone call ended with her saying she would speak to Woody again the following Monday and contact me back that afternoon. I have since to hear from her. In my opinion, that is an admission of guild in itself. I have since had another repairman out, from a different company. He pulled the pump off and said that it wasn't a crack in the pump, an entire piece of plastic had been broken off of it and the only way that could happen was if it was forced back on. I will never call them again, and will will take every opportunity possible to give them a horrible review. If you still take the chance and call them, record your entire conversation. It's your word against theirs and you will NOT win. read more
