Dave did a phenomenal job and in his hands my shave was downright therapeutic! If you're looking for a classic experience, you can't go wrong at Bob's! The atmosphere is great and the conversation is even better. Obviously I'm satisfied with my hair and highly recommend this team. One thing to keep in mind is it's a cash only business, but they'll work with you if (like me) you don't know in advance. Worst haircut ever in my life and I've cut my own hair before, with zero training. I went in for a certain cut that is reasonably normal and routine. Upon waiting for my cut my gut instinct was telling every cell in my body to leave. Not only was the smell of the shop weird but one of the patrons was talking about trump like he was a presidential advisor himself lol ‍ I decided to stay as my mom ain't raise no quitter. Bad idea. I should have listened to my gut. I left looking like I got into a fight with 10 raccoons and lost, badly. It was so embarrassing I was scared to go into public I immediately called another barbershop stating that I had an emergency. From when I left bobs I went straight to another barbershop to get my hair fixed. Upon walking in and getting laughed at the terrible cut on my head I was luckily saved by a man named Roger. Needless to say, at bobs it was the younger gentleman that cut my hair and not the lady. The overall vibe of the shop is dated. Worst cut. Stay away unless you just need a light trim. Gave my 19yr old son the worst cut ever. Had to take him immediately to another barber shop to fix it. It was like a 5yr cut his hair, and the gentleman said he has 15 yrs experience cutting hair! That's scary. read more

I have been coming here for a long time now. Bob has passed on, but his wife and son are still running the business. This is an old-school barber shop. There is a difference in licensing between a beautician and a barber, and the license here is that of a true barber. The methodology is different, the styles are a bit different, and the approach to things is different. Here, the idea is to get your hair cut precisely in a fashion that has been around for a good while. If it is your kids, they will go to school with a haircut that is not going to get them kicked out of class for being a disturbance. For those with classic values, this is the place to go. I come from a Navy background, and Bob was a retired Chief, so it just fit for me. Every cut I have ever gotten there has been just what I needed, and the price is certainly right. read more

Great haircut! My three boys used Margaret and I went with Doug. Don't let Doug fool you, he looks like he is 12 but does an amazing job. Margaret did an amazing job on all three of my kids. They really suck. This place is super seedy and it's based out of somebody's home. The place was a ghost town and I was the only customer there - at that point I should have backed out. She was careless the entire time - didn't even touch up the sideburns and I had to tell her to fix something on the side that she completely missed. I didn't realize that the back was messed up until I got home, and I definitely didn't go back to have them fix it. Come here only if you want to look crazy for two weeks or pay for 2 haircuts trying to fix the mess they created. read more

I stated going to this barbershop and it was welcoming to me as a masculine butch woman, but after going there for almost a year, I noticed I had some red bumps on my head. I went to the Dr and I was told that it was fungus that folks get from barbershops not being very clean. I thought it was my skin but later found out that in fact it wasn't, it was that the blade used to finish off my sharp cut was hardly changed. I haven't been back and I hope they have gotten the hang of changing their blades because that can be dangerous and well just plain nasty. There was one woman working and luckily she knew how to do fades. I travel a lot so this was my go-to since it was nearby. I'm a pretty open minded creature when it comes to cuts due to thr fact that I can't see the same loyal barber every few weeks. She did a great job - didn't realize I had to choose my own haircut since I'm used to barbers just going at it and making me look pretty after just a few word descriptions a photograph or two of how I want my hair to look. My mom took my son here for a haircut to get ready for school pictures today and he loved going here. Our normal place was closed but glad we found Bob's. First time he had his neck shaved, the warm cloth and after shave. He had his sister and I feel and smell his neck. "It's good right?!" I found this place online while in Gainesville visiting family and am very glad I did! I have only had a beard trim there but it was the best I have ever had. Very professional and detailed, and very reasonably priced. There can be a bit of a wait but only because the barber takes his time and does a good job.
