I've been getting my hair cut here since 2015. Everyone of the hair stylists does exceptional work and David has been more than helpful every time. I've sent 20+ people here over the years and they've all had great experiences. Unfortunately, the world is full of people that are angry for no reason. I guess to some, leaving negative reviews is a hobby. The only reason I'm even leaving this review is because I was shocked it was 4 stars and not 5. I've tried a few barber shops in Gainesville, and Lauren at Style Cuts has continued to provide the best cuts for reasonable prices ($18 for a standard cut). She cuts it very quickly, but my wife and I haven't noticed any corresponding mistakes. In addition, she's very good at getting the desired length and making the customer feel comfortable asking for modifications (shorter cut, less fade, etc.). However, I would avoid getting a haircut from Dave. He's very nice, but he's missed a spot behind the ears every time my brother or I get a cut from him. read more

Walked in. There were others waiting ahead of me. A young lady whistled at me saying she was gonna cut my hair ahead of them. Long story short she took a buzzer to my scalp like she was giving me a buzz cut (I wanted a small trim on the 3 inches of hair had), my hair is wayyyy to short, shaped terribly, and I look like an idiot. Whenever I can, I go here for a haircut. I have been a customer since the 1980's....(in the 1970's, I had long hair, no barber....) Never had a bad experience. He cuts my wife's hair, my kid's hair, my grandkid's hair. The kids were taught to address him as "King Dave". The location has changed, and I have a lot less hair than I used to, but the service is still great. read more

This is the single greatest barber shop in Gainesville. You'd be a fool to go anywhere else. These fades are quick, sharp, and quality.

I had to really take a step back before I posted this review. I hate to rate local small businesses bad, but in this one I need to. My husband needed a total head shave so we stopped at this local barber shop. The owner Dave told my husband that since it was his first time shaving my husband's head, he might get a few nicks. Okay that was weird to me that a professional barber would put forth that warning... but okay. Not only did he BUTCHER my husband's head, but then to try and stop the bleeding he covered his head in alcohol. I'm not sure if it's the beer in his fridge that caused this...I wish I had a reason that this man would do this to my husband. He was not apologetic at all, but he did cross out the area on the receipt where you would leave a tip. I'm horrified and saddened that this could happen. A few nicks..okay but it covered most of his head. Now my husband is in pain and has to attend work looking like he does, with serious cuts all over his head. I hope this can help someone else being put through this kind of pain. He used shaving cream so it was not until he was finished and cleaned up the mess before it was even seen. We will never go back. It's dangerous what this man is doing. read more

Called ahead twice to make an appointment and both times the guy told me to sit at one of his other barber's chairs. The second time I booked a 530p, got there at 515p, someone else walked in at 527p and he gets done at 530p and tells me Sorry I have to wait. I have been a patron of this facility for over a year, and can say with confidence I will never be returning again. I kept returning for this length in time because there was a single good stylist that worked here. She has since left and the rest of the stylists here are very lazy. The length of a haircut can be expected to be less than 10 minutes, as these other stylists are more concerned with rotating customers through than actually providing a quality service. If they do choose to wash your hair, the water will be cold and it will amount to little more than a 6 second rinse. The rinse is also done before they cut the top part of your hair and do not rinse it again, so at the end of your haircut you still have all of those annoying little hairs. They will not cut your neck hairs without request, and none are certified barbers so they are not able to use the straight razor on your neck. The only reason this is not a one star review is because of the price. $18 for a haircut, but you get what you pay for. If you want a 2 on the side and a 5 on top, this may be a place for you, but if you want anything remotely more complex, go elsewhere. read more

I was in Gainesville for my best friends wedding and needed to find a reputable barber shop and fast. A quick search led me to Style Cuts so i punched it in the uber and was off. The uber driver (who picked me up from the airport) joked that I flew all the way to Gainesville just to go to Style Cuts. We joked that this shop must be something special. Well, after my experience as a customer, it definitely was! I was cut by Yasmin who did an excellent job and I was getting a lot of comments at the wedding on the new look. First time here, walked right in and got a cut. Asked for a military cut fade and was happy with my results. Price is not too bad, better quality than a great clips type of cut. Shop was clean and well kept as well, great time overall. read more

If you make the mistake of getting a haircut at style cuts please refrain from allowing Mario to cut your hair. Gave this barber simple instructions to fade the sides and leave the front of my hair long. He proceeded to give me a sub par uneven fade and cut a ridiculous amount from the front of my hair. I've never received a worse haircut in my life. Customer service is horrible and the barbers and shop have no concept of cleanliness. read more

Great price. The place was very busy but the line went quickly, cut was quick and clean. All the others before me looked good and everyone was enjoying themselves too. It's not fancy and maybe could be cleaner but cut and wash was only $12, so that suits me just fine. read more
