I had worked with them before for kitchen cabinets and countertops and was satisfied with their work. They gave us a great price for the bathroom cabinets and countertops, so I purchased and scheduled a date for measurements for the installation. Their installers came out to measure, but did not notify us that a couple electrical outlets needed to be moved up a couple inches to allow the backsplash to be installed. When the installers arrived a week or so later, the last backsplash could not be installed due to the fact that the electrical outlets were in the way. So I hired an electrician who came out the following week and moved the outlets - that was early September 2022. Here it is today, January 11, 2023 - more than 4 months after initial installation, and Cabinet and Stone still has not finished the installation I paid for. After several calls, texts and emails - and several promises from them that someone would come to finish the job, they still have not sent anyone to finish. I finally had to hire someone else to finish the job that Cabinet and Stone International apparently refused to complete.

On February 9, 2026, my wife and I purchased a new home in New Port Richey, Florida (Home #1). We hired Carpet Barn in Tampa, Florida, to replace the carpet. Pat handled the sale. We selected a carpet that was in stock and specifically requested their best carpet pad, which Pat described as an 8 lb pad. The total price was $3,700, and the installation was completed without any issues. Because we were very satisfied with that experience, we later contacted Pat to carpet our home in Odessa, Florida (Home #2), which we were preparing to sell. We selected a less expensive carpet than we had installed in Home #1 but specifically requested the same 8 lb premium pad. Pat initially quoted $6,500. Since we wanted to delay the project while catching up on other expenses, my wife returned the carpet sample. During that visit, Pat offered to reduce the total price to $5,900, stating that business was slow. Before accepting the offer, I specifically confirmed that we would still receive the same premium 8 lb pad used in Home #1. Pat confirmed this multiple times. She also confirmed that the quoted price included all taxes and fees. Approximately one week later, after confirming again that the premium pad would be installed, I placed the order. Pat initially requested a $1,000 deposit, but later agreed to accept $500, which I paid by credit card. A few weeks later, Pat called to schedule installation. Before the installation, I again confirmed that the premium 8 lb pad would be installed, and she again assured me it would. After installation began, Pat informed me that Carpet Barn had incorrectly measured the house and was two rooms short of carpet. She stated that additional carpet had been ordered from the same dye lot and would be installed later at no additional charge. Despite the project being incomplete, she requested the remaining $5,400 balance, which I paid by credit card. The measurement error delayed the sale of my home. When I inspected the installation, I discovered numerous problems: The installation quality was significantly worse than the work performed at Home #1. The installers damaged multiple door casings and trim. Black handprints were left on freshly painted walls. Numerous carpet seams throughout the home were highly visible. Carpet had been unnecessarily pieced together in multiple areas. Most importantly, Carpet Barn installed a lower-quality carpet pad instead of the promised 8 lb premium pad. Because two rooms had not yet been completed, I was able to compare the installed padding with the new padding later installed in those rooms. The difference in thickness and feel was obvious. The pad installed throughout most of the home was not the premium 8 lb pad that I had repeatedly requested and been promised. I immediately contacted Pat and explained all of these concerns. She insisted the pad was the same, despite the obvious difference. I told her I believed this was a bait-and-switch because I had confirmed the premium pad multiple times before agreeing to the purchase. I also requested to speak with the owner on three separate occasions. Each time I was told he was unavailable, and although I requested return calls each time, the owner never contacted me. When the additional carpet finally arrived, different installers completed the remaining two rooms. Those installers used the premium pad that I had originally requested, and the difference was immediately noticeable. However, the carpet color in those rooms did not match the rest of the house, despite Pat stating it came from the same dye lot. The installers also stated they would not repair all of the visible seams because they were not being paid to do so. As a result, I was left with: Incorrect carpet padding throughout most of the home. Multiple visible carpet seams. Carpet patches in unnecessary locations. Color mismatch in the final two rooms. Damage to trim, door casings, and walls that required me to pay my painter for repairs. Delays affecting the sale of my home. In addition, despite repeated requests, Carpet Barn never provided signed work orders, signed invoices, or signed credit card receipts for either Home #1 or Home #2. My final attempt to resolve this matter directly with Carpet Barn was on June 1, 2026. Despite multiple requests, the owner never returned my calls or made any effort to resolve these issues. I am disputing these charges because Carpet Barn failed to provide the materials and workmanship that were promised. The installation was substandard, incorrect materials were used, my home was damaged during installation, the final carpet color did not match as promised, and Carpet Barn failed to resolve the matter despite repeated opportunities.

I saw positive Google reviews - my mistake was to not check Yelp where the honest reviews would have saved my carpet that I absolutely love. When the first person came out I explained this was a Custom Made Carpet, meaning the colors in the bold patterns were picked by me to coordinate with our furniture and walls. He told me how beautiful it was. We discussed that we do not wear shoes in the house, and have no pets and I showed him the corner of the rug that was soiled. They called it "high traffic pattern". The rep said they may not be able to get the dirt out 100%. I was grateful for the honestly and based on the 5 star reviews on Google, I thought surely they will do a great job and if it isn't 100% at least it would look better. My carpet except for a 1 x 5 area in the corner of the 9 x 12 carpet looked brand new. As you can see in the video the background color was snow white with bold yellow, red and blue designs woven in. When the carpet came back it looked exactly like it did when they took it. I said I can't see where they cleaned at all? They took it back and in a few days brought it back again. Again, I didn't see a noticeable change in the dirty area. The delivery guy said he would take it back if I wanted for a "more aggressive" treatment. And he said it in a way that I wasn't sure if it was a threat or was he trying to tell me something. I replied that I don't know what "more aggressive" means and he did not explain. Still trusting the brand name and google reviews, I thought maybe he was just tired of hauling the carpet in and out of my house. A few days later the carpet comes back. I am in SHOCK! The White background looks like it was washed in dirty water and instead of snow white it is now a dingy color with grey tones in some areas. The red and blue areas are noticeable faded. The yellow areas no longer match each other. One looks faded like the red and blue areas. The Yellow in the soiled area is now STRAW COLORED. It is so close to the dingy background that used to be white, that there is ALMOST NO CONTRAST. To make it worse, the dirt is still there - it has just spread to a larger area!!! I took a close look at it and now it also has PET HAIR on it???? We do not have pets. I told them this was not acceptable and that my carpet has been ruined. I asked them to process my complaint and said I would like a refund and compensation for the carpet. It was by now not a new carpet but I certainly expected some compensation, not a full new rug. Christ Gingell said they would review the situation and get back to me to see how this could be resolved. I was told I needed to send in the receipt for when I purchase the carpet. I think they were hoping I didn't have it. I sent it in the same day. I got a call from Mark who said he was the Regional Manager. This is a 100% polyester carpet and they are the easiest carpets to clean and also the least likely to be damaged. When I told him this, he couldn't argue. He blamed everything under the sun and said it was impossible that they ruined the carpet. He said the carpet "was defective" and it is not their fault that "the colors bled". The colors were washed out in the specific area they focused on. The colors did not bleed. I told him that I was relying on them, the carpet cleaning professionals to advise me. If they had simply told me that they could not clean my carpet without damaging it, I would have had that section cut off and saved the rest. I loved it that much. I can no longer do that because the WHOLE carpet is now dingy and washed out and there is nothing to save because the TWO Yellow areas do not match at all, one is faded yellow and the other straw! We had several back and forth calls where I had hoped we were making progress. He then directed me to read the fine print in the form I signed. Down in paragraph 6 it says: Customer understands that Stanley Steamer AGREES TO PERFORM THE SERVICED INDICATED IN A WORKMANLIKE MANNER. HOWEVER SS CAN NOT GUARANTEE THAT ALL ODORS, STAINS AND MARKS WILL BE REMOVED OR AREAS COMPLETELY FREE OF DISCOLORATION. Over the phone, I explained that I had two rugs that needed to go a serious, serious deep cleaning -- one rug is about the size of a runner and the other was more of an area rug (8x10). After speaking over the phone and receiving the most competitive offer I had heard to date, we agreed on a time and date for rug pick-up. I emphasized that this just was NOT a rush, as both of these heavily soiled rugs are only used in my classroom - and since it is Summer time - no need for them anytime soon! Since I was receiving such a great deal, I did not want to place any unneeded pressure on them. Later that week, a Chem-Dry representative arrived to my door right on time to retrieve the two rugs. After a few days, I received a text message from Seth that indicated the rugs were finished, and we arranged a mutually convenient time for drop-off. Seth hand-delivered the rugs himself to my home, and boy did they look different! All of the kiddie germs and encrusted dirt were 100% gone! All that remained were the rugs in their near original form - a bright colorful square patterned carpet - and the lingering aroma of a recent deep, deep cleaning. As an afterthought, it would have been nice if I had taken a before and after picture to really show readers how filthy these rugs were! But you'll just have to take my word for it :) Overall, I am very pleased with Chem-Dry's flexibility and willingness to accommodate customer needs and preferences. No receipt left to state what the charges were ( my son was home, I was at work) They have not yet returned my calls. My little carpet cleaner from Sam's club works better than what they did. I've had my carpets cleaned before, so I know it's perfectly possible to get them done. Edit: So Monday they finally called and asked if they could come back out and fix the problems. The owner came out with the original technician and they did the carpets together. I am much more pleased with the work, the carpets look like they have actually been cleaned.
