Bad service and denial of wrongdoing. Brake noise coming from the rear on my 2016 Toyota Tundra. They said I need new front brakes. Bob's replaced front pads = $$. Noise still there. Two weeks later they said I need new back brakes and rotors = $$$. After one week, the truck started to vibrate upon braking. They said I heated up the discs going down a hill and now the discs are warped and needed replacement and It's all my fault?? Hmm, hadn't been driving on steep hills. I took it to another shop and they said yes, the discs are warped but it was from the inferior replacement parts Bob's Conoco installed on my Tundra. I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more

I'm from out of town and needed a tire repair/change during a busy time for the tire places in town. Guys at Bob's were swamped but recommended a couple of other places to check in town but if I struck out to get back in touch so they could help me. I did just that and got a slot the next morning. I was a long time customer (25yrs) of Bob's Conoco. Recently I had Downtown Conoco install a replacement rear muffler and tail pipe on my VW, a minor repair. They did not use an OEM part and the part did not fit properly. They welded it in place for attachment instead of clamping. The part rubs against the frame when it expands from the heat and makes an annoying racket. Since it is welded, there is no adjustment. I complained on three different occasions and they couldn't remedy the situation. I am stuck with it and extremely dissatisfied with the poor service. It will be difficult to repair correctly. We drove over a rock and messed up the undercarriage of our car about 50 miles away from Steamboat and had to get the car towed into town. It was late at night and no one was open. We got it towed to the Downtown Conoco and just hoped they could see us before we had to head back to Denver. We got a call at 7 am and they were able to see the car that day, even though they had a full shop. Russell and his team were so responsive, kept us updated throughout the process, and got us out and back on the road within hours. Worst service in the Boat! Made an appointment to have my 2012 Toyota Tundra tires rotated and aligned. Came back @hrs later Truck is done except the alignment, said they needed to order parts and will call me. So 2 months later no call! Stopped by 2 weeks ago spoke to the manager about my concern he said it would have never HAPPENED on his watch! We were heading back down to Denver after our weekend in Steamboat, when we were leaving our condo our tire was completely flat. We rolled the dice and brought the car into Bob's. They were pretty backed up, but Gary heard our situation and squeezed us in to check the tire. He removed the tire, checked the air, and gave us the peace of mind to drive it back to Denver. Bob's Conoco in downtown Steamboat Springs came through for us big time. Just got into town and found we had a flat. He not only managed to find the hidden lug nut lock for our Lexus tires. they discovered the issue (a nail) and fixed the tire within an hour. Saved us a bunch of money and time. We discovered that we had a flat at 9 pm on Friday night- triple a told us that it would be an hour to an hour and a half to get anyone to us. Luckily we were right across from the conoco, and even though they were closed, the person who happened to be there working late fixed the giant hole in our tire and had us on our way in less than half an hour. It was above and beyond the call of duty and the kind of place that sets the standard for how customer service should be. read more

So grateful to Scotty and Russell. On my way from Denver, through Steamboat Springs, my Rav4 overheated. They gave me a free diagnosis of the issue which was that I needed a new water pump and because they couldn't get me in for a week, they gave me the contact info of other shops in town that might be able to get me in sooner. Talk about amazing customer service and support! I ended up getting it towed back to Denver to get the work done back at home. These guys are super trustworthy and really care about their customers. If I lived in the area, they would be where I would go. read more

Used to be a good place.. However, now that all their best mechanics have left (Performance Auto is the place to go if you want the same awesome mechanics!)..now, Conoco is horrible. I've been happily using their service for over 4 years and recently went in to have my water pump replaced(otherwise my vehicle was in fine condition) ..the very next day all of my dash lights came on for the tires, later to find that there was a clean cut in my TPS sensor.. coincidence? Hm. On top of that, all of the sudden I had 4 oil/transmission leaks and a few broken seals.. everything scattered and nothing to do with the water pump.. $4000 later, I've finally gotten my car back to prime condition it was in before my last visit to Conoco. I've since aquired a new, honest mechanic who won't stoop to sabatoging someone's vehicle for business. I do not recommend Conoco. read more

I had just gotten into Steamboat for work and my brake light was on. After checking that all of my brakes weren't in fact being used, I called Bob's to see if they could help. Bob, himself, told me to come in and to get it checked before driving back to Denver. Looks like my brake fluids were low and he filled it up. If you traveling through town and need some assistance the men at Bob's will take great care of you. They are honest, hard working and know what they are doing. My only complaint is they are so good you really need to make an appointment a week or two in advance. That said if you in a bind they will do their best to fit you in and get you back on the road. We buy all of our tires from Bob and trust him with our vehicles, they really are the best! read more

I was worried about our car when we came down over the pass and our car had a strong smell of something hot. I wasn't sure whether it was the brakes, the transmission, or something else. I never had this problem on many other mountain drives. A gas station attendant recommended Bob's when I came into town so I called and set up an appointment to make sure the car was safe to drive back to Texas. Bob is a very nice guy, and his crew went over the car and determined that the brakes had been hot but weren't damaged. The biggest surprise--no charge! I could tell from the locals who stopped in while I was there that this is a trusted and friendly business. I recommend them to anyone looking for a good, honest mechanic. read more

Had a rim ordered to match the current 3 from the factory. Rim was mounted only to find out it's a different size and the hubcaps no longer fit. I was told since its mounted "it yours" and hung up on. Sad day for a local. Glad you have enough business to turn away customers at will. read more
