They don't respond to service inquirers. Had them out to check the irrigation system. They made 3.5 service calls, changed a number of heads/nozzles and charged me $431 which I paid. Upon checking the system I found that there were still areas that were not receiving coverage. I called and left a message with Bob indicating that there were still coverage issues that had not been properly addressed and needed correction and additional charges should not be forthcoming. I live in Hawaii now and needed some repairs made to a house I am selling in Yulee. Bob's was quick to respond to my emails and quick to get the work done. It has been hard to make sure everything gets done due to the distance and the time change between Florida and Hawai'i but Bob's worked with me to compete the work quickly and it is now one less thing I will have to worry about as we get closer to closing on the house. We contracted with Bob's Landscape and Irrigation. On the plus side, Bob got the city out to improve our water connection due to poor flow and kept our plants stored safely while that went on. Shortly after the sod was laid, grass started dying. Janice (Bob's landscape designer) said it was dormant, but it looked dead. After several phone calls, Janice brought someone from the County Extension to provide another opinion. The Extension Agent agreed the grass was dying due to lack of water. So Bob to the rescue! He raised the collection of misters up so they had more clearance and increased the watering times. The grass came back, but now we have all these white pvc pipes sticking out everywhere and has sent our water bill to the moon compensating for an irrigation design that didn't match the landscape design (at this company each does their own piece). Strangely enough, near the beach there is an often a breeze, enough to carry misted water off to the neighbors' lawns. During one of our sessions with Janice I asked why they used misters instead of drip lines. My question was ignored. Due to the immense waste of water from the misters, we have been capping them off and installing drip lines at our own expense. After getting a good look at the irrigation system, I'm convinced that there was a significant gap between design and implementation. Worse, it seems to have been laziness or cost savings to the installer that gave us a system that needs ~70% reworked. They even installed sprinklers that interfere with our hanging swing. Finally, they installed a way over engineered and expensive irrigation control box that is counter intuitive and should require a classroom experience to program properly. (My VCR does not blink 12:00 BTW). Over all, for what we paid and what we got, we feel we were taken advantage of and cannot recommend them for landscaping work. Two things we did learn to ask in advance is will landscaping fabric be used (they don't) and get an estimate and add maintenance services prior to signing (plants aren't guaranteed with this company unless they do lawn maintenance). We requested an estimate to get service after the lawn was installed and we're told they couldn't do that. Now remember our grass was dying. read more

Horrible. Got a palm which cost.a fortune. Less then a week it uprooted and laid against my house. Finally got them back out but had to call and call. They took 2 weeks. Now 9 months later the tree died. I called umpteen times, emailed for help to save but got ignored. Terrible .....ZERO customer service. Will take your money and go. I live on social security so this was a big hardship buying to have lost it. Bob is horrible as a business, would not do any kind of business with him. I have so much to say! Keep reading for the details, but basically they are greedy, dishonest, nasty and have the worst customer relations I have ever dealt with. I love supporting local business even if it's most expensive, but this makes me think twice about it. And to top off the bad relations they even sodded over my sprinkler. I recently had my lawn sodded by Bob's and the sod itself was not bad, but the service was terrible. When I first called them, my main question was "When can it be done because I don't want to have to wait too long and have hot weather and all my new grass die." Donna assured me that it would be done it about 2 weeks. Well, they sent someone out to kill all the grass and weeds in maybe about 1 week and then nothing for over a month. New weeds were starting to grow before they proceeded to the next step. No one called me, but out of the blue a an showed up and started marking the ground for wires and then that night I got a call saying someone would be out the next day to mark the sprinklers which he did. That same man then told me that he would put in the order for the sod and we should be good by the end of the week. The sod showed up early the next morning without anyone to install it. I called to see if this was a mistake or what and Donna told me that the man was on his way out to start installing it...Fine. I was used to no communication with them by this point. He had to order an extra pallet of sod than what we had agreed on earlier and that would still not really cover the yard, but he could expand flower beds to make it do. He laid the sod (with a Latino man who didn't speak a lick of English...wondering if he had papers) and it was done alright even though half the day was spent on their butts under the tree (nothing too bad, nothing special. A little uneven)...or so I thought. He checked the sprinklers and noticed one wasn't working so he replaced it. I thought great! That makes up for some of the other crap. The men took off the first day around 5:00 and said they would be back the next day to finish the job. I said that was fine, but I had to leave by 10:00am for an appointment. The man (who did speak English) said that was no problem. They showed up the next day an hour later than they said they would and got to work. I tried to wait around for them to finish, but by 10:15 I was running late and had to go. They had finished the work and had just started cleaning up and when they saw me getting into the car the one man ran up to me and threw me the bill for the second half of the payment. I took it and drove off. As I was doing so I noticed 2 HUGE piles of sod sitting in the back of their truck. Sod that I had paid for (it looked pretty close to a whole pallet to me if not more). I was furious, but had to go as I was running very late by this point. The next day I noticed another part of my sprinkler system wasn't working and the grass was already dying so I just started watering it by hand. A few days later I was able to run outside while the sprinklers were going to see if I could figure out what the problem was and I realized they had placed sod right over a sprinkler that was right up against the house and it was flooding that area underground. I ripped the sod away and fixed it myself. So they finished the work on a Thursday and on Monday I got another bill in the mail as well as 2 phone messages about payment. The bill I got in the mail said I had 30 days to pay. No problem. Then, my brother died and I forgot to send the check out. Donna left me another phone message and an email about it. I wrote back and apologized (still less than a week after having it finished) and said I would get the check out. I missed the mail that day and then got caught up in the weekend. I got the check out the next Monday. The same day which I received yet another email from her claiming "we still don't have the check. Why don't you check your bank account and make sure someone else didn't cash it." Seriously? How could they first of all? Did she think this was a clever way to demand the money again? All this in about 10 days when I was given 30 according to the bill (oh, I had received a 2nd bill in the mail by this point too). She never called or email to check if I was satisfied with the work that was done. She never called or emailed to let me know when the work was going to be done, but she called 3 times, emailed 3 times and made sure I had 3 bills in the span of 10 days. I sent her an email saying the check was out and I voiced all my disappointments. Several days later she responds with nasty excuses for everything and not even an apology. I've never dealt with a business who doesn't make satisfaction a priority before. Way to give a bad name to local business! read more

I don't get the bad reviews here... have used Bob's several times over the years, including today to connect an irrigation meter. As always, they showed up on time, did the job neatly and at a fair price. For those who complain about prices, try calling a plumber or some big name company and see what they charge... you may be surprised. read more

Had a real problem with the irrigation system. Called Bob's and explained the problem-also explained that due to health reasons I could not even be here to show them the problem. Had to be at Mayo clinic- they said no problem- and absolutely handled the irrigation problems perfectly- Professional- extremely efficient and friendly folks.
