RUN, GET AWAY WHILE YOU CAN. They will GLADLY take your money and NEVER give you the experience you paid for. Also can't keep a teacher to save their life (Boca campus) The skin teacher is always replaced with a sub because she has to fill in for the cosmo or other course teachers due to them quitting or being fired, so the ones in the actual esthetician program are left without an instructor. The Boca campus is a complete JOKE they care more about their image than the integrity of their school. It's sad to see so much money go towards the funding of their lifestyle rather than the benefit of students. We were only allowed to use 2 wax strips per waxing session because the school refused to buy/provide more. The student "desk" are outdated. The towels in the Nail course have dry acrylic on them so they're hard and rough and haven't been replaced in YEARS. So are the towels for skin, they're torn up. The desk also have old dried up substances, only God knows what they are. Most of the equipment has not been updated. And God forbid a teacher cares enough to bring in her OWN salon supplies so the students get a better experience. NOPE, my teacher got in trouble for bringing in supplies. The director or whoever is in charge much rather make decisions based on emotion than what's best for student learning. Also witnessed my teacher get attacked by a student which was already sad within itself but the director was more concerned about saving the schools image rather than helping when authorities arrived. Didn't even see her check on my teacher (she may have after the fact but it wasn't her priority for sure) If you're looking to just get a degree without the learning then I'd say go for it. But the experience will most likely not be worth your money unless you get a teacher who genuinely cares (they typically quit or get fired when they try speaking up). You can definitely get a better experience for the same price elsewhere. Cosmo tends to have a bit of a better experience just bc I'm sure the funding is different so the school invest in them more but every program should have an equal opportunity especially giving the fact it's not cheap. However, I heard the Parkland campus isn't so bad. Also received NO help throughout my graduation process I didn't know I was graduating until the day of and they do NOT help you obtain your license or job placement. U literally leave and just never comeback, the most help I received was an email with the link for my license. By far the most DISGUSTING staff and school I have ever came across in the beauty industry. The school is just sorry overall and most people will not enjoy their experience attending here. Went for a haircut and blowout at the Parkland location and had an absolutley wonderful experience. The student, Ashley, was so personable, focused, and did a wonderful job. The teacher was also very attentive to all the students, double checked their work, and appeared to do a wonderful job. Overall great experience and would 100% do it again. read more

The client is always out of products and the quality is very inconsistent. The staff will blame you if there's any issues with anything! They get mad at you if you dared to ask how long of a wait there might be, and one teacher is very nice and the other one is terrible. Tried it out after a beauty college I use to go to in Pompano closed down. This academy is so much cleaner and looks like a real salon. Now you can't go and get a haircut from someone just starting out and expect the same experience as a professional barbershop. Do keep that in mind. I will tell you an instructor was always close by ready to correct or enhance what my student was doing. So, while the student I had still has a ways to go. During Covid-19 like many my job took a turn for the worse... my best friend does nails and has been teaching me for 2 years. Now I was no pro but I wasn't just a beginner. I took the jump and decided to go to school! So I called up Boca Beauty Acadmy Parkland and started my journey. I couldn't take a tour but the school was re opening June 1st so I did it and went to orientation. I chose to go for just nails but who knows, I think I might further my education one day.... none the less June 2nd was my first day in class and it was amazing! Mrs Nancy is the best. I went full time day classes and it was 240 hours (2 months) of pure fun. Yes there are tests and challenges, but Mrs. Nancy made every day a party! I graduated Friday July 24th and I can see how much I've grown! It's amazing! The staff is wonderful! You can exchange services and get facials, haircuts, massages and more. You also get to provide services to other teachers and students, so you can grow and learn. I took this opportunity to work on all the things I struggled with and took every uncomfortable opportunity I could to push myself! This school really helps you grow! I attended the parkland location in their full specialist program, which is their nail technician and esthetician program combined together and its 6 months. I wasn't new to the field and have been doing this for a little over 5 years. I graduated from here in April of 2023. Now, would I recommend this school? Absolutely not, Especially if you're new to these fields. I will breakdown each program experience, pros and cons. Nail Technician program 3 months: Cons: The material/ product provided in this course is outdated and cheap. You will not be able to work with 90% of what comes in their kit and You will spend money on good quality products. The same knowledge I came in with is the same knowledge I left with. The first 3 days of class was the first and last time we were actually learning something such as supplies & Sanitizing. After that I looked at a wall for 3 months being taught nothing. (I am not joking) The class didn't have the proper equipment such as a nail lamp or nail drill. they don't even have practice hands like other schools. You have to supply yourself with everything. Over the course of these 3 months, I spoke to the teacher about teaching, instead of us sitting here not learning, I spoke to the administrator and expressed my concern. Once I took the final exam and passed (studied by myself) I spoke with the administrator about receiving my Certificate for just being a nail technician because I did not want to continue at this school and not learn anything. I explain I will not have a student loan debt on something where I didn't learn anything. Even though I passed the exam, the school refused to give me my certificate in just nails and told me I need to complete the entire full specialist program to receive my certificate even though I made them aware I wasn't being taught. This just shows the level of care this school has. We are just a $ sign because even after I complained nothing was done and even after other students complained nothing was done. So, I just went ahead and completed the course just to get my license. Again, I will not recommend the program to anyone, especially newcomers into the field because you won't learn anything and because I am somewhat of an expert it was easy for me. Pros- I got my certificate. Now the Esthetician Program 3 months, This program was a lil better I started after I was done with the nail program. The kit for this program is awesome. I did learn a few techniques and about some good products but a lot of the time we didn't learn anything but we did learn from each other and practice on each other as well. What the curriculum stated we were going to learn, majority of it we did not and they didn't even have supplies for a while. it got to the point where students were ordering waxing supplies for the whole class and brow tinting products. Overall, This location needs to do better and ensure students are actually learning, ensure there are supplies, and ensure the curriculum is being followed. No one wants to pay over 10K on something they don't learn anything from. I will also send a report to the BBB about my experience here. I also know the school deletes negative reviews that's why there aren't any. I will continue to re-post my review because I believe other potential students should be aware of what they are getting into. read more

THE STUDENTS ARE WHAT MAKE THIS SCHOOL SPECIAL As a student graduating from the cosmetology program only a month after graduating MY school has undergone several changes since leaving. I wanted a haircut by one of the barbers I met and was rudely handled by the current receptionist telling me to book an appointment (even though they do not take appointments it's walk in only) . While i was enrolled for the last 9 months many complaints and unsettling issues were made. Between in and out staff, unprepared lesson plans, and days were I literally sat and did nothing because of insufficient funds or shortage on supplies. Just where was my 15K going? I put my heart and soul into this school and the clients that I've worked on. I am not bashing this school, I'm saying do the research and expect the unexpected. Through new management and new staffing I hope the success of this school flourishes. As a graduate i was given SOME not all of the tools necessary for a shot in this industry. I would tread carefully. Typically school isn't going to prepare you completely for the outside world. But when the teachers and administrators are switched every other month it's very hard to keep the education consistent. If you are able to just focus on getting your license and have no expectations on the education, you'll get a lot out of this. If you're English isn't very good it may be very difficult. This school unfortunately doesn't have the accommodations necessary. If this is your only option be consistent in checking your hours and making sure you have all the tools and books you paid for. This is probably the best hair color I have had since moving here from New York I've gone to multiple places here paid more than $300 at one sitting to have my hair highlighted colored cut. The students that did my hair were spot on with light light brown color I had wanted and the cost was $60. They were kind they were patient they were professional and the outcomeWas fabulous. I went for a manicure and was greeted immediately by a nice girl at the front desk. I was then brought back to the nail salon room and greeted by the Nighttime's group instructor and student. It was clean, thorough, and I felt like I was learning things too! The instructor and students were so friendly and accommodating. They answered any questions I had and I left super happy! I am saddened that have to post this review. I have mostly used the massage school (which were mostly decent - not great) but since it is a school acceptable. I recently used the hair salon and the first visit was ok ( touch up roots is just that and color is not pulled through) So last Friday I went for full color (no color change) but when I got home I realized the color for roots had not been pulled through properly. So I went back for a color fix. To my dismay I learned that i order to get my hair done properly I would have to repay for the entire season service!! (and bean example fir the class) Although I wouldn't mind paying for the product paying for the entire service is unacceptable! read more

I would highly recommend Boca Beauty Academy for the massage program. The instructor Mr. Dennis is great. The whole program is very short, but enough to make the student prepared for the license test and the work field. That's exactly what I was looking for. I'm sure there are other schools that have a more complete training, but they cost a lot more and take a lot of time to graduate. It makes more sense to me to be able to work asap, while taking Continuing Education in the areas of interest. I didn't give 5 stars because: 1- the classes on Saturdays weren't very productive, it was supposed to be clinics, but it was actually a lazy day 2- the administration was a little slow to get everything done after my graduation. It took them about two months to send my transcripts. They were missing a document I had no acknowledgement of, and no one would let me know if I didn't go there in person a few times Overall, the school met my expectations. read more

I just want to say that Mary Jo is the best! She's always very compassionate, caring, and does the most she can do to help her students with whatever they need from the salon to the class room. She stays up to date when it comes to teaching us theory, with out her my class and I would not know anything!!! As a student of hers I can truly say that she teaches to the best of her ability with full dedication. She's honest and will always tell you how it is and everyone respects her for it. I'll be honest I was skeptical when I first starting thinking about attending but she really sold me on all the amazing opportunities I could benefit from in starting this journey. I was really excited about going to this school, I've been let down a couple of times, very unorganized, very unprofessional, unhelpful . They fill you up with everything you would want in a school and it's the biggest let down. Teachers are lazy, choose their favorite students, don't want to get up and actually teach. Instead they sit down and expect you to learn everything from the book. The books are the only thing worth some value in this school. If you're desperate, go to the Boca campus in BOCA. They bring all the old/broken stuff from that campus to this run down dirty school. It's a shame I was scammed out of my nine thousand. Rude staff, they don't keep you updated or posted while you're here, they tell you once to make up hours, it could be ur last week of school and no one would tell you anything or help you with any remaining duties you needed to complete. These people don't realize we all have our own lives outside and emergencies happen, and don't work with their students to adjust their hours and help. They only care about money that's all. They charge $10 every hour you're missing btw, instead of just extending your time in the school. it's a scam. Do not come to this school. This school is a joke , I'd rather have gone to an actually college campus and learn . I learned almost everything hands on all by myself or the students who are ahead taught me instead of the actual teachers. Waste of time and money. My school has taken extra precautions to making sure we are all safe and have given us great resources and information before, after and during covid. My classroom is very clean and organized. I had a great experience at Boca Beauty Academy because of ms. Andrea. She cares and always encourages you to try again and to always believe in yourself. I came in this program with a vision of what I wanted to do but she made me realize my dreams much more vividly. In all my years of education she is my favorite teacher by far. She makes sure you understand the nail program completely before venturing off and graduating. She teaches you so much to where what she says just becomes second nature to remember and anyone can understand. Ms . I got a massage here the other week. The facility was clean, staff was very nice and the massage was great!

Very disappointed with my experience. I was searching for a last minute mani-pedi to get with my friend who was traveling that evening. I found Groupon with a great deal (score!) so I called ahead asking if there was availability that same day. The person on the phone informed me that nails could be done until 1:00, so I told her I would be there soon. She said to come and there was plenty of availability. My friend and I drove a half an hour and showed up to an empty reception. Multiple workers walked by yet no one said anything. Finally the receptionist came in and asked if we had been helped, after we had been standing their unassisted for 5 minutes. I had actually seen her in her car smoking when we arrived, so I guess smoke breaks are more important than serving guests. I thought, whatever, it is a good deal so I will bear with it. We started to fill out standard paperwork, when the receptionist came back and said sorry, there aren't any nail students today. I recognized her voice from the phone call earlier, so why did she tell me to to come if there were no nail students? She said to come back tomorrow, but my friend was leaving on a trip that evening. I wasted an hour of driving for nothing just because of her poor reception skills. I can't comment on the quality of the mani-pedi as we clearly didn't get one, but I'm requesting a refund from Groupon because I don't want to waste my time again. If I make another appointment, how can I be sure that I will actually be attended to? This place needs to work on its appointment-making processes and costumer service in the reception area. read more

Now I can give an honest review of this place. I graduated from the full specialist program, the nail part of the course was fabulous, the skin part.... I had 5 different teachers in 4 months super unorganized, lesson plans were rare and the staff in the front are SUPER rude. When I started there I was welcomed with open arms and everyone was so sweet. I heard there were a bunch of lawsuits against this school, and if that's true I wouldn't be surprised, they fired the ONLY teacher that was actually any good, and for no reason. I still keep in contact with said teacher and I was honestly shocked to hear that. This "school" is trash. I gave my money to this school for nothing. I had so many positive expectations with this school and I was severely let down. If you are looking to go to beauty school DO NOT go to this school. The instructor was careless and did not pay attention to what the new kid was doing. There was one guy that seems to have more experience and tried helping the new kid but the instructor didn't. There are a lot of things I could say that is wrong with this school so if you don't want to read a huge paragraph of me ranting then just know that this school is A TOTAL SCAM!!! Don't waste a penny on this unorganized and unprofessional environment they try to pass off as a school. Now if you want to know details just keep reading. It has been a year now since I attended boca beauty in parkland. I attended for the esthetics program. When I first started Ms. Beth was my teacher. Ms. Beth was amazing in every way. She had a ton of experience and knew her stuff. And I would like to say that I was not sure about the school until I had sat in for a day of class with Ms. Beth. She is the reason I signed up. Everything was going great with occasional hiccups like running out of product we needed or seeing that my hours had not clocked in properly. (Yes that was considered a hiccup out of all the bs I experienced at this school) So everyday I saw the same guy sitting in the computer room, all day. One day we started conversation and I asked why he was always in the computer room. His response was that they didn't have a teacher for him!!! He signed up for the master fitness trainer program. And little did he know they didn't even have a teacher to teach him!!! Long story short he is fighting with them to get his money back for all the hours he wasted sitting in a room not learning anything. Next they decided to switch my teacher in the middle of my program. They sent Ms. Beth to the boca campus and gave us this other teacher. And she was far from impressive. Very all over the place, scatter brained, total add, and didn't teach at all. All at the same time the cosmetology students were missing a teacher as well. And the barber students teacher was switched. And while I'm at it I may add that the nail teacher was a total bitch and everyone who had her would agree. So when me and 2 of my classmates/friends were extremely upset that they switched out teachers we asked to switch campuses so we could finish our program with Ms. Beth and they REFUSED. They told us we couldn't switch and there lame ass excuse was that she was going to be starting over with the other students which was a complete LIE. She was starting with those students right where she left off with us. Unbelievable. They had absolutely no reason to deny us the switch but they did. So towards the end of me and my 2 friends program we discovered yet again another HUGE HUGE ISSUE. One of them was already a licensed Esthetician in Puerto Rico and when she came to the school they told her she would still have to do the entire program to get her license here. Which was a complete lie!!! She should have only had to do a certain amount of hours and pay only a certain amount of money! She had to fight with them to get her money back! I could seriously write a book about everything wrong with this school. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. It's very unfortunate that I have had multiple people ask me where I got my license and I had to warn them not to come to this school. So unless you like blowing your money and dealing with a bunch of bullshit I don't recommend. I'm surprised they haven't closed down yet. read more

I bought a Groupon for this location and took a friend. The service was awful! The nail tech cut my toe nails on one foot so short I was in pain, and barely cut the toe nails on the other foot. The polish looks horrible...my 6 year old niece could have done a better job. They don't have anyone checking their work and never asked us about the service and if we were satisfied. I would like to leave the most honest and unbiased review I can. I was a student at boca beauty in the cosmetology program it was a revolving door for administration and teachers everything is poorly run by the owners. I've seen so many teachers fired for no reason the baby cosmo class had a teacher who knew nothing about hair until they finally fired her and hired someone new. The equipment u get is not very good and this is school is not treated the same as the boca campus. They obviously take priority over boca because they make more money but it's honestly some billshit I've seen over 5 presidents in this school and I was only there for a year. Its honestly the owners tho i don't feel as if they care about what actually goes on in the school they are more worried about the boca campus and how much moneY they make there. All the instructors are wonderful tho and the administrators actually care I cant say the same tho for the people who own the school. I really don't feel as if this school was worth it and if u consider going here don't. It's very overpriced for what you are getting.
