The 60 minute facial was actually 35 minutes. The pedicure took two hours. The 80 minute massage was actually 50 minutes. Rather than making this right, she fought me about it and seemed rather shameless that I felt scammed. How can a beauty school be so ugly? The environment was very nice and friendly, but the only problem is that no one was told that refunds are only issued as coupons, not cash. This was a problem for me because I paid in advance, expecting the service I booked to happen, but it didn't because of a lack of experience. Not good! I spent over $100 that I couldn't get back. last month i brought my daughter to the hollywood location for hair color and the student seemed to understand what my teenager wanted but the teacher insisted she follow her instructions. her hair came out fried !!! instead of dark brown w gold highlights, its a bleached blonde blob on top of half her head & orange patches in big blobs all over the rest of hair !!! my child cried for a week !!! & did not go to school in embarrassment!!! spoke to supervisor grace who promised refund feb. 22 & still nothing !!! i want my $45 back !!! now i have to come up with hundreds $$$ to fix this botched job !!! :-( this is so dishonest !!! especially from a school !!! bbb will hear of this if i dont receive my refund asap !!! read more

This was a pretty good place for a student massage haircut or facial for decades. Then three owners later it went downhill when they did away with the lux spa and remodeled it into barber shop. The staff keeps changing as do hours of operation. Over zealous staff sold group packages of services, then management limited hours of operation for services. I work full time and they discontinued night and weekend hours for massage. Then they shut down the massage area. They would not honor my many past due certificates, due to their issues. The young woman who did my nails was a very nice young girl however she is not ready to be turned loose to the public. She simply added acrylic on top of my nails and did not really file it. I'm literally walking around with what seems like a half an inch of acrylic on top of my nails. I'm leaving to go out of town tomorrow and now I have to hurry and find someone to soak this mess off and start over. The director Joshua and whoever the young woman is at the front desk told me that I should have come to the register to confirm the price the student gave me was correct. Even after showing him this farce of a job... There was no sympathy and he even had to restrain one of the teachers. She thinks that this butchery job is worth $75 according to her. I'm uploading some pictures and I will be filing a complaint with the better Business bureau. It is apparent the five star reviews are from students being encouraged to leave them. As a man, we don't get manicures often so if a place appears to be abusing our time we'll just leave and find somewhere else. read more

A place where there's no safety or protection for anyone this is the worst unprofessional job I ever worked at my name is Lamar I seen a lot of shit shows playground games and much more happened at the school the admin office lies to people to get them to attend. There is no safety any and everything happens, there it's not one person in the building you can trust from corporate on down I worked as a maintenance guy I was threatened by student after telling corporate in the administrative what happened I was Terminated for no reason nothing runs as scheduled I would not advise no one to go to the school. Made an appointment for a full set with gel polish & a pedicure, 2 days before. When I got there they still hadn't chosen someone to do my nails. Waited 40 minutes for them to send over a nail tech who was a month away from giving birth. Obviously she couldn't do my pedicure, so after I turned down a reschedule, another student - who because he was graduating that day hadn't been prepared to do nails - offered to do my pedicure. He didn't have his tools, so the teacher offered to go get them from somewhere. In the mean time, the pregnant girl would work on my hands. She didn't recognize the cuticle remover that they had there for her, so that was a learning curve. Then, they didn't supply her with the correct any of the liquid that you use for acrylic, so the teacher said she would go get it. By this time, the guy doing my pedicure had the tools. The pedicure took 2 hours! He didn't scrub my feet, or lotion them. All he did was my toes. There was a problem because they didn't have the polish I chose from the samples they showed me. So I said I'd make do with a different red on my toes. He glopped the polish on my toes. When I asked if he was going to clean them up before finishing, he replied I'll just put the gel light on & then I'll take off the excess with wood sticks. (I've never heard if this being done at a salon, it sounds juvenile) I hadn't asked for gel on my toes. There is now normal polish under gel top coat on my skin that is not easily removable. After the lengthy & terrible pedicure, I went back for my hands. There polish was wrong again here, so now my toes were red/white and my hands a different red/cream. While she did a decent enough looking job the acrylic was thick on the nail & thin on the ends, where it should be the other way around, & the acrylic covered my cuticles. One of my nails broke the first day. Complained to the teacher while the girl was doing my full set - she at 1st blamed the amount of time on student slowness. This is 4 hours in, by the way. But at least an hour of that was waiting, & on top of that both of the kids doing my nails had to get up several times to go get stuff. I'm not blaming either of the students for most of these issues, because a good deal of the problems were administrative. Products that students needed that they weren't supposed to supply for themselves were not in the room where they needed them. I also feel the need to again note that the guy doing my pedicure was graduating! Graduating!! Meaning that he had learned everything he was supposed to learn & still did a poor job. He was a nice enough kid, but this was bad! The girl doing my hands even said that she would not have put up with what I dealt with that day. When I complained to the teacher, she offered to give me again the same 1st time discount, 20% off, the next time I came in, rather than offering to refund me anything from that day. I don't usually expect things for free, but when something like this was that bad her 1st instinct should have been apologize & comp something even - if it was something small. Not to blame it on the students & give me a tiny incentive to come back. I had to go last minute for a fix somewhere else as this was right before a Christmas trip, & paid an additional $15 for a cleanup & new paint job. Went here via Uber havng paid $8.15, I arrived just after my appointment time of 2pm. I waited another 5 minutes and was greeted by a student who explained that I needed to fill some forms prior to registering. I am partially blind so I knew how that was going to go. The student the also said I could fill out the form after the massage and on the same breath told me that she was not going to be my masseuse and would find someone else. I was kept waiting another 10 minutes and then the receptionist informed me that there were no maussesues available (In a Massage school) I was told that I could reschedule for another day. Am in the impression that the student would not have the time to do the massage as they close at 3pm. $ read more

I love the new director and everything he is doing for the school! So much has changed and improved since I started! I just want to write a review on miss Nelson the registrar. She is absolutely the worst person. She always has an attitude and is VERY RUDE. She never wants to help and it's ridiculous. She needs to go!! Never met someone so rude to students that just want help or want to know how many hours they have. this was the worst school never come here mr jonny is so unproffesional all the staff are very inappropriate and do not care about the student they treat you like a kindergartener and do not care about how you feel mr jonny told me even though the teacher was wrong he is going to side with his teacher over the student that was being mistreated they told me i am suppose to leave my employment early to be to their school on time because there is no excuse why you should be late. i have never experienced a "director" of a school lie and abuse their student so much mr. jonny has followed me down the hall over a comment made to my classmate after i ignored him to not have a confrontation and still recieved mistreatment before and after now i have to get a lawyer involved becauased the staff purposly verbaly and mentaly abused me and then kicked me out of the school after all of that i am pursuing a lawyer to get further justice they treat all their students the same way do not come!!!! read more

Love this school... Great place to go get a Massage, Facial, Nails and your hair. The students and the receptionist are wonderful.
