I simply had to update my earlier review of Dr Fano's Boca Spine & Wellness Center - because WOW! I've just had a new therapy offered here: shockwave. The name may sound intimidating, and if you check out videos of how other practitioners are using this on patients it may give you some anxiety? The videos may show patients grimacing under the tat-tat-tat-tat-tat of the shockwave wand. But I am SO VERY glad I got this treatment on my hip. I have a torn labrum and off-set hip joint on my right side. I've endured YEARS of pain cycles, triggered by either exercise, stress or some unknown cause. My pain would be a combination of dull ache, pulsed pain, ice-pick stabbing and stiffness, with discomfort high, about a 9 on a scale of 1-10, lasting several days. I've been getting the laser tissue, back decompression and manual adjustments at the clinic for the past year, which have provided huge improvement in my condition. But the other day, I tried shockwave treatment on that hip and it was transformative. The treatment lasted maybe 5-7 min on the area, beginning with some cool gel, then the wand being passed over repeatedly. The only sensation I felt at level 8 (on scale that goes up to 12) was a very brief rubber-band snap. In the days since my first shockwave treatment, I've NO redness, bruising, tenderness, or pain of ANY kind. Stiffness is nearly gone. The first night, I was able to sleep on my affected hip side with NO pain - first time in months. The next day, I had a very mild sensation of tissue massage? But the overwhelming feeling has been one of utter RELEASE. No sharp pain, no dull ache, no ice-pick stabbing. I honestly feel like that right hip has never had a single issue. I will be adding this treatment to my weekly visits. Even if someday I have to have surgery to repair that torn labrum, if I can get back to living, exercising, travel and enjoying life PAIN FREE, it's a game-changer. read more

Look. I'm a retired CHIROPRACTOR. So I know who a good chiropractor is. Darren is not good. He's GREAT. The best adjustments I've ever had. I was suffering for 7 months with right shoulder pain. I went to a chiropractor, A physical therapist and an orthopedic surgeon. Nobody could help (however, the physical therapist did tell me the source of the problem with my neck not my shoulder). -I felt I needed a certain type of decompression table so I researched and found Dr. Fano. I went to see Dr. Fano on a referral from a friend. A little background: I don't go to doctors or take any meds. I take care of myself and my family as naturally as I can. I'm very mainstream and not some health nut, either. I woke up with extreme pain in the right side of my neck, shoulder, pain in my right scapula, and severe pain going down into my right arm one morning. I got a massage for two days in a row, applied heat, and took Advil . Nothing worked. After suffering with this for a few days my husband convinced me to go to an acupuncturist, which I did. It took some of the strain off but the pain was still there and I could not sleep for like three nights. Finally my friend referred me to Dr. Fano. After taking an x-ray he told me that I had a collapsed vertebrae between T2 and T3. He also told me it had been there for about 25 years. I almost argued with him but then I remembered that I was in a car accident 22 years ago. And the pain I had from that accident was in the same spot but never this severe. Basically he treated me for about three weeks and the pain is completely gone there's no more numbness in my hand or arm and I am fully functioning again. Had I gone to an orthopedist they probably would have recommended surgery. I highly recommend this office. The staff are amazingly kind and the doctor is very knowledgeable. I found Dr. Fano while searching Boca Raton and sciatic pain relief...Dr. Fano is awesome...here's my story. I was recently diagnosed with L-4, L-5, C-1 disc degeneration & bulging, which was causing a pinched nerve root that made it unbearable for me to stand for over 1 minute. The sciatic pain in my left butt cheek was really bad (about an 8 out of 10) it included numbness through my shin to my toes. I first went to a MD and got an MRI. The MD prescribed anti-inflammatory meds and said the next step was a cortisone spine injection and maybe surgery...I wasn't doing any of that!. I went to an acupuncturist/Eastern medicine and found some relief, but the pain wasn't near gone. I searched and found Dr. Fano and read most of his reviews and was impressed with all the "5 Stars" his patients were giving him. I said to my wife "... I'm going to this guy to find out why everybody loves him...", even though I was skeptical about Chiropractic. I have been to a half dozen chiropractors over the years, but my visit to Dr. Fano has been a unique experience. First of all, the location of the office is very accessible with easy parking. The facility itself must have every twenty-first century bell and whistle available! The office is staffed with personable and efficient employees. Dr. Fano himself ensures that the appearance of his office, waiting areas and treatment rooms are in the utmost conditions of cleanliness and organization. All of this is before any treatment begins! My first visit included X-rays which Dr. Fano himself administered. This was followed by an examination of my neck and lower back, both of which I consider to be chronic problems. Dr. Fano reviewed and explained the findings from my X-ray. He used graphics to show me where my problems were and then proceeded to explain the treatment options which include diet, manipulation and laser treatments. His chairs and tables for treatment are immaculate and clearly state of the art! There was absolutely no pressure to insist that I use any particular method of treatment. During this initial visit he worked on my neck. Most impressive was the fact that he called me two hours later to see how I was handling the manipulation! When I visited him two days later, I told him it has been the first time in recent memory that I have had absolutely no neck pain for two days in a row! Obviously, I highly recommend Dr. Fano to anyone who has been disappointed with previous chiropractic care. This has been a truly personalized experience for me with no pressure to do anything I don't want to do or receive any treatments with which I may be uncomfortable.
