Lets go wine tasting! Such a wonderful experience at the Bodega. We were blown away by their beautiful cactus garden which is located in front of the entrance. The Bodega is quick large and I really enjoyed the informative displays all around walking us through the process of wine making. Once we viewed the nice museum inside the Bodega we walked out to go visit the actual vineyard. It was very impressive, its a place I have never seen before with a very unique style of hole pits for each grape tree. It was very impressive! After we walked around the allowed areas we went inside to their nice tasting room and tasted a few of their unique grape wines. I really enjoyed all of them and we were happy to take some home with us as our souvenir. I would highly recommend visiting one of Spain's oldest vineyard's. It is such a unique experience and such a beautiful one of a kind landscape! read more
We had a wonderful tour and tasting experience at El Grifo. It is the oldest winery on Lanzarote, and the tour through the museum was so informative. We appreciated learning more about the challenges of grape growing on the island and the unique landscape. Highly recommend booking one of the guided tours - we learned a lot about the terroir and saw some incredible old vines that were untouched by phylloxera. The winery is working on interesting new projects including winter harvest. We enjoyed several of the wines and stayed for some delicious local cheese and ham. read more

Wonderful small Bodega selling the wine produced nearby using the unique technique employed on Lancarote: the vines are planted in craters dug into the black volcanic lava gravel to allow them to reach the soil. The lava craters at same time protect the plants from the ever present wind and prevent evaporation. The resulting wines are - red, white and rose - all have a vigorous bouque that betrays the vulcanic origin. read more
