Bodegas La Geria appears to be intended more for the tourist crowd; it was extremely crowded and loud with multiple tour buses parked nearby. The staff wasn't particularly attentive; it seemed rather impersonal although perhaps that was because it was so busy. There is a large souvenir shop on the property. There is a lovely terrace with nice views of the vineyards. They have a large variety of wines, including some under a higher-end label, although we preferred wines at the other nearby bodegas.

It must have been sheer luck, then, that we happened upon this place one fateful night. Situated on the marina, this class establishment looks out on the Atlantic Ocean. We were quickly seated and offered a glass of the choice house wine. Since we were quite ravenous, we chose to forego the menu and asked for whatever was fresh that night. This resulted in me ordering the Cherne, a local fish inhabiting the many caves and shipwrecks on the sea floor here in the Canaries. What a wonderful fish this turned out to be! Its flesh is meaty, succulent, almost chickenlike in its consistency. It came accompanied by the ubiquitous Papas Arrugadas. No punishment by any means since, in my opinion, these wrinkled, nutty potatoes are the most important contribution to Spanish cuisine in the canaries. They've got a lovely buttery, almost claylike structure. Since my girls were getting a bit rowdy at this point we had to turn down dessert. I made do with a double espresso, which was fine, especially considering the fact that the Spanish usually can't brew a cup to save their lives... It was served, as is customary on the Canary Islands, by the local spirit of choice, Ron Miel, which is essentially honey-infused rum. Staff was very professional and accommodating, which seems to be the standard over here. All in all I had a very pleasant experience at la Casa Roja.

The 5th star is missing because there is always something that is missing versus the menu description. Last night it was the sweet potato mash that had been replaced with a (perfect) ordinary potato mash. It was served without any reference to the substitution. Granted that it would only be half a star reduction if I could... For an establishment that gets it so right in nearly every respect it is sad but I look forward to my next meal there.

Every piece of information I received stated 12pm, there no mention of any other time so when I arrived at the bus stop at the stated time and no bus appeared I was worried so I phoned the company and was alerted that dive time was 12 but pick up time was 10am but nowhere did it say 10am so I think it needs to be clear what time pick up time is , fortunately they managed to get me on the next bus and we were on our way. The submarine experience was fantastic, photos were taken on the submarine to be purchased afterwards as well as a certificate, which I think needs to have the bookers name on as well as one with your partners name on it and not two with the bookers name. We climbed down into the submarine (best to wear shorts and not a dress or skirt) which was amazing and sat on little stools looking out at fish swimming by then watched a little screen of the submarine submerging under the sea at upto 30m and seeing shipwrecks lay on the ocean floor, it was such a fascinating and memorable experience and I would highly recommend when in Lanzarote.

The walkway to the submarine is an experience, but you will be fine once you have your sea legs. The dive itself was fun and we saw plenty of fish and the like. The 45 minutes passes all too quickly, some people might think it is too long but it was far from it, it left you wanting more. Highly recommended.
