I was pretty blown away by the experience. I was greeted promptly by name even though I had never been in Hue before. I was offered any beverage of my choice. They thoroughly washed my hair and gave me a bit of a scalp massage. After I was prepped for the cut, Maddie asked me what I wanted. I described the weirdness of my hair that I've been living with all my life. She totally understood and walked through a few options ranging from [I'll do exactly what you want] to [let's fix your part because you probably experience these various styling and volume difficulties]. We talked about the options and cleaned up my part a little bit because it would take about 4-6 months to grow back if I didn't like the change. This was a great decision. She then walked me through how to style my hair. She taught me how to properly use a round brush and a hair dryer. And helped me understand how I had been applying product to my hair was fine, but gave me a couple of tips on how to make it salon quality. By the end I feel like I got a full on consultation and master class in men's hair and styling. Whenever I come back to Michigan, I'm definitely going to pop into Hue.

This recent time I supplied pictures in advance requesting either large knotless braids or cornrows, whichever worked better for her because I'm not new to this, I understand that sometimes a stylist has a style they are good at over others. Despite me saying that, the stylist still chose "knotless"; however, I did not receive knotless large braids. My braids were jumbo with way too much braiding hair added, no uniformity, way too stiff, she actually made them box broad style which is the opposite of knotless. She did not finish with mousse and oil sheen. I came straight home and took the braids out as they were literally not even tucked. Pics to verify
