Overall, this is one of my favorite bar studios the classes are always intense. The ambience with the light is great, and the workouts are amazing. I love the culture of the studio.

Maeve at the front desk is awesome--she's always ready to help however she can. All of the instructors bring great energy and inspiration. Alison's class is just a whole vibe--her silly sense of humor gets you through the tough parts, and her music is top-notch. Jess has such a genuine, positive glow that's totally infectious--she's always dropping some welcome bit of wisdom just when I need it most, not to mention that she makes the hard work feel joyous. I wanted someplace that really knew traditional Pilates but also added in some contemporary, had really skilled trainers, and could train advanced practitioners. I went to many, MANY places, and they were either too basic or so fast and shouting through a mic that people were going to get hurt. That is NOT the experience you'll get at Pilates Eagle Rock. Jen is a true master, she's had the studio for over 20 years and really knows her stuff. I think I know what I'm doing, then she gives that tiny tweak and I realize I know nothing!! Penny and Sofia are also favorites of mine and SUPER GOOD too. They're former dancers, as am I, so really know how dancers move - and sometimes over extend - to keep me in check. There is no parking lot, but they have small classes and it's super easy to park, so don't let that deter you.

They offer good classes. However, don't expect much compassion…read more I used to go to the ODD in Silver Lake and have been going to the ODD in Eagle Rock semi regularly since I moved out here. I used ClassPass. We recently had a baby and it's been hard to get fit postpartum. I booked a pilates class, but unfortunately was rushing around just before (you know how it is when you have a window of opportunity to get things done with a very young baby!) Blame clumsiness, blame sleep deprivation- I fell down our stairs. Had to go to urgent care and got put in a boot and on crutches. Unfortunately it was within the no cancellation window for the class. So I concocted a plan - I'd send my mom, who was in town helping me with our baby, to take my class. She'd get a treat and a thank you for all she'd been doing for us, and they wouldn't have a gap in their class. They say the reason you can't cancel is it hurts their business to have a gap last minute, and that's fair, but if you send someone to take the class you paid for, I figured that would take care of them too. I was thinking if she liked it I'd get her a membership for the months she is here helping. Win win. NOT how it worked out. My mom came home very upset - the lady at the desk was mean to her even after she told our story and called me on the phone. The desk lady acted like we were trying to scam her. Ultimately they wouldn't let my mom take my class, so she paid full price for her own. They told her I'd cancel my ClassPass so I wouldn't get charged - well, I just got charged so that was a lie. The whole experience left a bad flavor in both our mouths. I know they didn't have to help, but they could have been nice. They talk a big game about compassion and good energy in classes, so I guess I was hoping for some of the same in a tough situation. Honestly, even after enjoying years of their classes, I don't think I'll go again. It's hard to relax and be in the right mindset in a place where they were mean to your mom because they could. So, yeah. They'll talk a lot about compassion in class, but they will stick it to you even if they're not getting hurt, if they have a way to. It's too bad bc I did enjoy their classes and they have good instructors. But in the end it's all just business. Update: in response to the owner's response below, I do not believe it, because other studios on ClassPass HAVE canceled without charging inside the cancellation window (most recently when my child was born unexpectedly three weeks early), and I sent my sister to take a different class after I got into a bicycle accident a few years ago and that studio didn't cause any trouble. So in addition to how they treated my mom, they're just not telling the truth here and I removed another star because of that. There's a way to do it and they chose not to. I understand not being casually flexible, but on rare occasions there are actual unpredictable emergencies, and in those cases, studios can claim "policy" to refuse or they can show compassion. This is the type of studio that claims to be a place of community but when you actually need community, they go corporate. It's fine if you know that's how they are; it's a nasty shock if you actually thought it was a community.

But…read moreupon attending my second class in April 2026 I had to take three minutes before class to fill out a parking validation form on my phone, asking for a ton of information as part of their new parking policy. The validation is for 58 minutes and doesn't even cover a whole class and time it takes to get back to your car (see the receipt attached below). This is an important detail because the building that hosts Pasadena Corepower (Residences at Westgate, owned by Greystar LLC) contracts with a predatory tow agency called Metro Towing. Warning: Metro Towing will absolutely tow your car if they have any chance. They did this to my friend, and CorePower staff lamented it had happened to numerous others, including the instructors. Go to the Metro Towing Yelp page and you can see how this company makes its money. The cost of getting your car back will be at least $530, and Metro Towing company is incredibly rude and dismissive when you call them. To be clear: the most troubling part of this whole towing situation is the complacent "oh well!" attitude taken by CorePower management. Their guests and instructors are getting their cars towed and they don't seem to even care! They put a small update on their formal website saying you now need to validate your parking- but honestly, who checks the website before taking a class? (By contrast, the facility where I play indoor soccer sent out SIX emails over two weeks with detailed maps showing where exactly to park in order not to get towed by neighboring businesses. That is how you get out in front of things and take care of your guests, even when the parking situation isn't yours to manage like it is here.) I have somewhat mixed feelings leaving a poor review, because this is really about management and not the instructors. But Pasadena Corepower Yoga and Greystone LLC (the building owner) have made the decision to stand by a predatory towing company, and therefore folks taking classes should be on notice. If you linger after your workout to shower or have a conversation with someone, you are putting yourself at great risk to lose your car and $530- even if you followed the validation rules parking your car. It makes no sense to me that a yoga studio of all places would nurture this kind of environment, but here we are.
