Great heated vinyasa class taught by Angela! The studio is clean and welcoming. Parking is easy in a strip mall. Studio has changing areas, clean props, and marks to indicate where to place your mat on the floor. If you forget water, you can buy it at the studio. Angela's class was intentional and smart, while acknowledging individual needs and levels. If I lived in Sarasota, rather than on vacation, I would attend her class all the time. Words can't begin to describe the magic of Body Heat Yoga. Superb infrared heat in a cozy Adirondack cabin with crystal singing bowls is just a bit. The wide range of classes and instructors delivers something for everyone. Lots of special events and pop-ups keep it from being routine. Let me begin by saying, I am used to Baptiste style yoga, which is a very intense practice, with a large focus on the mental practice. This is my experience, and if you love this place that is wonderful! However, it is not for me. My experience at Body Heat kicked off nicely with what I thought was the front desk woman, turned out to the be the instructor. I informed her that I was gifted 10 days of yoga for $20, and that I couldn't get into my online mind body account, and she seemed to be VERY inconvienced by this. She was practically huffing and puffing, and just incredibly short with me-not a good first impression. Then, you leave your belongings in the front check in area, which would be fine if I was told the doors would be locked. Once inside the studio it was all I could think about! I had forgotten a towel to wipe my face, and after I asked if they have towels to use she looked up at me like I was an idiot! It is very common for studios to have towels, and most will allow first timers to use a towel for free! Once she introduced herself as the teacher, I thought okay fresh start, have an open mind and focus on your practice.... She popped in a CD and some creepy voice told us to 'BEGIN'. BEGIN WHAT?!!!! The other yogis begin moving, as they all clearly are regulars and love it, which is so awesome for them! After 40 minutes of barely moving much, I folded my mat and headed out, I just couldn't take it anymore. I enjoy a much more intense physical practice, and a teacher that is involved. I believe this is the only class in which the teacher does not speak, but man was it weird! In the end, the instructor was nicer, and walked me out of class, which was polite. I have 9 more days, but I doubt I will go back. This is why we have options! I wish she had been a little less rough around the edges, and my experience had been a bit better. read more

I just recently moved to Sarasota and was in search of a great yoga studio. I am certified and have practiced at more than 50+ yoga studios around the world so I'm extremely particular. I purchased the 10 day intro package and tried a variety of classes/instructors here. This studio is hands down one of the top five studios I've had the honor to practice at. It has EVERYTHING that I want in a studio and yoga practive. 1) A gorgeous space that is clean, welcoming, intimate and smells divine!! The heat is set at around 98 degrees and I can tell a huge difference due to the infrared system 2) Experienced, knowledgeable, spiritual and friendly instructors who clearly love what they do! These guys are pros! 3) Challenging and motivating practice. An incredible workout! As long as I've been practicing, its hard to get to a class and learn something new. Every class that I've been to over my 10 day trial here had a new posture or technique I hadn't learned before 4) Easy parking 5) Not this matters at all or that I'm judging others...its simply an observation, but everyone in the class is in great shape (all age ranges!) and has the same mix of males to females which only proves what a great workout the classes are here and how it caters to everyone. Wonderful studio with eclectic group of Yoga sessions, ample changing , Super well organized Practice room with great staff & Warm friendly service. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is due to lack of showers .Located In a fairly large strip mall, plenty of parking right outside. read more

I love Body Heat Yoga! Clean, comfortable studio with exceptional teachers! I love that while they offer more than just Bikram classes.. my favorites are the power yoga, intermediate-advanced yoga on Saturdays, and the shorter 1 hr hot classes. I've found the instructors more than happy to help newbies (and not so newbies) with any questions or concerns. read more

I travel a lot for work so I visit many yoga studios - with my primary focus being on hot yoga and Bikram style. I've had the best week of my entire 8 year Bikram/yoga experience at Body Heat. The Bikram style yoga to music made me feel like I was getting a massage at the same time I was doing yoga. Something I never experienced before. Each day had different class options and music. From the owner to the instructors - the classroom radiates what I believe yoga was meant to be healing, responsible exercise, and a way of life. I will miss the studio and long to return. I've been to a few yoga classes in town and none of them gave me what I wanted until I found Body Heat Yoga Studio in Sarasota. I know yoga is geared towards inner peace but when I make time from my busy life with 3 kids, I want to feel like I got my money's worth. I don't want to lay around and meditate unless I'm cooling down at the end of class. Body Heat provides an ultimate experience for all levels and provides a different workout for whatever your style. Kelly Prince has many years of teaching experience, a calm and nurturing voice, and is great at making you feel welcome. I feel refreshed, sweaty, and stronger every time I go. I'm a huge fan of the power yoga class and partner yoga session that are held on occasion. If you like to sweat, the hot yoga classes will give you a full workout while holding pose and gets rid of toxins in your body. Highly recommend going to Body Heat. You won't have to look anywhere else. The studio is intimate, modern and clean. A very friendly and experienced staff, and great location. I'll be going back for sure! read more
