Unfortunately for me, he felt free to make inappropriate comments during our session (having a client that was a porn star who offered to work in trade and risqué tattoos he's seen near female clients' inner thighs). I did tell him at the end that the porn star comment made me uncomfortable. He somewhat apologized, saying he had not been getting enough sleep recently. There were a few other things that bothered me: working under the sheet instead of making a secure drape with the top sheet and working underneath my underwear to get to my hip (could've worked over them just as effectively). When I told him that going under my panties wasn't necessary, he said "I didn't think I was doing that". Then he followed me out to my car...? This was the most energetically uncomfortable session I have had in the almost 20 years I've been getting them. Shame on me for not stopping it after the first creepy comment, but shame on this person who according to their site has taken multiple courses on ethics and professionalism.

I went for a spa massage first and while it was relaxing, my pain was not gone. It was now localized. Then I remembered that Gary Vigeant fixed it for me last time, so I texted him for an appointment. I went in, he did his magic, and the pain is gone - I can fall asleep easy again! You should know that Gary is not a regular masseur used for relaxation or to release tension. He is a professional therapist that prides himself on "fixing" your injury using various hands-on and specific techniques. He is awesome! The problem with his business model is that he cures you and then you don't need him anymore, so he continually needs new clients. His prices are very reasonable (cheaper than I paid for the spa massage with an upgrade)! He will talk about anything which is a nice distraction from what he is doing sometimes, but if you prefer quiet, just let him know and he will happily oblige. I know I sound like an infomercial, but I get nothing from plugging him. I am just a super thankful client and I want to make sure he is in business for a long time! I think most people just don't know that there are other medical solutions for physical ailments that doctors are not taught anything about. Try it and you will not be disappointed!

Amazing experience - I had an appointment with Marissa for lymphatic drainage due to a lingering…read moreankle injury (4 weeks out and still puffy in some areas). This was my first experience with lymphatic drainage; it'd been recommended to try and reduce some of the swelling that wasn't resolving on its own, and I came across Marissa's site. Her space is calm and welcoming, and she instantly puts you at ease. She explained how the entire lymph system works, what can happen with an injury that can cause the lack of drainage I was experiencing, and the flow we'd be using during the entire process. She was very focused on comfort levels - temperature of the table, any pressure the drape might put on my ankle, and any areas that might be sensitive for me (physically or mentally/emotionally). Marissa is incredibly knowledgeable, competent, and intuitive. We worked through the flow, and much to my surprise I could feel it working - I could actually feel the sensations she had described *could* happen in several instances, and the amount of pressure needed for the drainage was incredibly light - far, far less pressure than in a Swedish massage, so no discomfort at all, even on injured tissue. At the end of the massage, when I looked at my right ankle, I was stunned to see it had symmetry again with my uninjured ankle - it had been swollen for 30 days. The area at the joint that was warm to the touch and felt "full" to me was completely flat. My only regret in this process is I didn't take before and after photos to show the difference. 24 hours later, the swelling remains 90% diminished from before the massage. I have a much higher range of motion, as the swelling had been prevented rotation. Things that caused my ankle to ache - like crossing my legs and having the injured ankle unsupported for more than 90 seconds - don't hurt. I cannot believe the difference this made; if it had been 25% as effective as it was I would have considered it to be a wild success. I would not hesitate to do lymphatic drainage (or any massage) with Marissa again, and would recommend her to any friend or family member.

Booked a prenatal massage, something I was desperately looking forward to, and it was the worst…read moremassage experience I've had. It was 85 degrees outside, there was no AC in the room, she had the bed warmer on and a heavy blanket with just the window thrown open to all the lovely street noise. There was absolutely zero support for my belly or hips. I'm 6 months pregnant, this is a huge deal. I was obviously uncomfortable. The massage itself was horrible, and felt more like I was getting oil rubbed on me gently. I also don't know if she was sick, but the coughing and sniffing throughout the massage definitely had me even more tense. I was extremely let down by this whole experience, from start to finish, and would not recommend this place; at least to pregnant women. Will not be returning.
